@TheBeesKnee im still having cheese at Xmas. I’ll be sad about Brie but I can settle with cheddar and crackers. I am still eating chocolate and I feel conflicted, I’m trying to keep to one or no bars a day due to the caffeine. I know that’s fine in moderation but I struggle to limit my chocolate intake when it’s there so it’s keeping myself restrained.

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl Thanks. Is your dating scan this week? If so I hope everything goes well.

@Melusina123 yes I feel like that. Other than the nausea/occasional sickness I don't feel pregnant. Each morning I keep thinking, am I still pregnant? Should we be telling people, what if I’m not? I know it’s irrational, it’s just processing it.

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 07/11/2022 20:04

@Blue2020 Wednesday yeah. Feeling extremely anxious about it.

tiantian1005 · 07/11/2022 20:28

Anyone else has had a cold since pregnant and found it so hard to shake off? I had a cold since Saturday evening and am still feeling rotten which is very very unusual for me. Together with the nausea and headache, I felt like i was about to faint with this cold. Really worried the bug will affect the baby!!

sunshine1987 · 07/11/2022 20:32

Yeah they told me 10 too which was really surprising, everything was absolutely fine. I had my NHS screening a few days later than the NIPT and those results came back Saturday and backed up the NIPT

Bigparrot · 07/11/2022 20:38

@Melusina123 Yes I agree. I don't feel wildly different yet but suppose that will change! Mostly feel very tired.
Not helped by being awake coughing a lot of the night!
@tiantian1005 I have a cold I cannot shake it off either. I'd normally be full of lemsip but is that even an option right now?

raffika · 08/11/2022 06:50

@tiantian1005 @Bigparrot I had Covid a couple of weeks ago and though I tested negative pretty quickly I’ve still not completely shaken it off. Pregnancy can lower your immune system so it’s easier to catch things and harder to shake them off.

The medical advice I had was it’s paracetamol only, which definitely made a difference to how I felt, as normally I’d have lemsips and then nurofen plus for the hideous headaches which seem to come with Covid.

Hope you both feel better soon.

Yes, I had a cold, a respite of about 2 weeks and now I've got another cold.

Pregnancy suppresses your immune system and my DP works in a hospital so I have no hope.

tiantian1005 · 08/11/2022 17:11

Thanks for all the reassurance! Hope everyone who has a cold is getting better!
How is everyone's symptom now most of us passed 1st trimester? Is nausea easing for everyone?

Zaalfruit · 08/11/2022 17:34

No the vomiting hasn’t eased up for me . I am wondering if my dates are wrong thou :( I have been vomiting since I turned 5 weeks pregnant- my mouth and throat just hurt pretty much all day. This is my second pregnancy and it feels
tonnes worse this time . I am
blessed and really happy but just finding it so hard - I have my booking in and scan this week so maybe seeing the baby will
make me feel more connected and less miserable . Really hoping by Christmas and New Years I am feeing tonnes better . Last year I had covid for 10 days and pretty much spend my annual leave isolated.

Flowersflowers121 · 08/11/2022 17:44

Yeah, I had covid a couple of weeks ago and seem to have a new cold now haha never ending, but at least my nausea has really started to clear up. Just the heartburn that is getting me down hahaha

@Melusina123 that's exactly how I feel. Although I have constant nausea and sore boobs, tiredness etc I don’t ‘feel’ anything. I sitting still
on the sofa in an evening and hoping to feel some sort of flutter but nothing (which of course the reasonable side of my brain knows is to be expected but the reasonable side is getting smaller and smaller!!) I just feel different. Maybe the odd pulling or heavy sensation when I lie on my side but that’s more than likely just my fat!!

I’ve booked a scan for tomorrow (I’ll be 15 wks exactly) because my 16 week appointment isn’t until 17 weeks and I needed something to fill that time.
just desperately hoping it’s good news 🤞

Melusina123 · 08/11/2022 20:24

@2bm I'm a day behind you, 15wks on Thursday! My next appt isn't til 17wks either, contemplating a scan before then too.

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow. :)

lmw88 · 08/11/2022 21:38

Is it mainly just 2 scans on the nhs? Around 12 weeks and 20wk anomaly scan? Then checking baby's heartbeat, you bp, dipping urine etc at antenatal appts?

IWillBeWaxingAnOwl · 08/11/2022 21:39

@lmw88 yup 2 is all they offer

Awkwardusername · 08/11/2022 21:43

Hi all! Had my 12 week scan yesterday and all went well and sounded promising, but I’m so worried about the screening (first baby so possibly overreacting?) they did!
My notes say the NT is 1.5mm which I know seems average, and I’m only 28, but I can’t shake the anxiety!
Sonographer said I’d get a phone call within three business days if my bloods came back as high risk, so by the weekend would it be safe to assume things are all okay if I haven’t heard?
So, so much more anxious than I thought I’d be throughout this whole pregnancy - I’m not normally such a worrier!

lmw88 · 08/11/2022 21:45

@IWillBeWaxingAnOwl that's actually a bit surprising. I'm having my follow up from my 12 week scan tomorrow.....hope to see baba a bit clearer (I'll be 13+5). Nice to get an extra on then. Not sure I'll last the whole time with just 2 scans. No wonder private scans are so popular!

I had my bloods done on Friday last week and the letter arrived today (Tuesday) so only two working days for me. Hope yours comes back quickly 🤞🤞 the wait is horrible isn't it but I'm sure all will be fine xx

Janch13 · 09/11/2022 13:59

Ladies this is my 2nd pregnancy so admittedly I’m much more relaxed this time. But please don’t worry about things like cheese and chocolate. There’s a book that will put your mind at rest if you need it, Expecting Better by Emily Oyster.

I’m planning on eating cheese over Xmas and even a medium cooked steak at my work Xmas party. Life is too short.

Had my 12 week scan today and everything seemed fine - the little nugget wouldn't stop moving! Quick sigh of relief until this evening where I've just been to the loo and wiped a tiny bit of pinky / red CM, just like a tiny little dollop (sorry TMI). Any idea what this could be? It seems unfair to feel happy and confident in the morning then worrying all over again by the evening!

Has this settled? I've been having a lot of pinky discharge but every time I ring the hospital they just don't seem that bothered about it and will never see me. Also VERY achey, feel like I'm on a permanent period!! I'm getting very frustrated! I've added a pic. Sorry if it's TMI!! Confused

lmw88 · 09/11/2022 20:18

Had my repeat scan today and thankfully all went well. Able to see so much more I'm now 13+5 was 11+6 at last scan....such a relief!

RugbyGirl1 · 09/11/2022 20:56

Hey @gskay83 so... After the pinky discharge I then got bright red blood but only on wiping that evening, had a full on breakdown thinking it was all over but in the morning there was nothing! And nothing since. I put it down to the pressure of the scan possibly irritating my cervix and nothing more although I am going to book another scan for a couple of weeks time to put my mind at ease. How far along are you? Have you had any scans? Spotting in pregnancy is very common, it's only when it gets full flow / you start filling pads that I think EPU want to investigate further.

Oh I'm glad you're all sorted now. There's nothing worse than the unknown!! I'm 14+4 weeks. Due 6th May. It's been going on for a good few weeks now and the pains are really beginning to get me down. I didn't have any of this with baby no.1 so it's really worrying me. Especially as it seems to be getting worse and not better! x

2bm · 09/11/2022 22:23

Had my scan today and all was good. Baby was super wriggly and gave me a wave. Measuring one day ahead at 15+1. Hopefully that will settle my nerves enough until my 16 wk check (at 17 weeks)

RugbyGirl1 · 09/11/2022 22:42

Have you spoken to your midwife about the pain and the spotting @gskay83 ? What have they said? 6th may is a fab due date 😉 I'm due 14 May - my, my partner and the baby will have birthdays within 8 days of each other 😂 £££

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 10/11/2022 17:47

Two babies, all present and correct and wriggling for all they were worth!
