@Myotherusernameisaferrari Congrats ❤️❤️❤️

ru53 · 17/03/2023 13:44

@may111 nice to know it’s not just me! I’m sorry you’re struggling too though. Everyone is telling me to take it easy and get rest and not worry about work which I know is 100% what I need to do but it’s very hard to let go. I think taking the holiday and bringing leave forward is a great plan I might do the same. Maybe it’s just a big growing stage and we will feel better in a week or so?

TheBeesKnee · 17/03/2023 14:22

@ru53 I was the same, exhausted and down last week (31 weeks) but feeling a touch better now. I've read that the baby goes through a growth spurt around this time so it might just be zapping all your energy?

lmw88 · 17/03/2023 18:07

@ru53 @may111 totally feeling the same. I'm 32+0 and was aiming to work up until 38wks. I've also been off on a weeks AL this week so not sure if it's just made me lazy but I've definitely been feeling the need to have a little mid afternoon rest on the bed. I've also had the thought of taking a weeks AL this side of mat leave and finish at 37+0....can't be superwomen either, need to listen to our bodies. I feel my baby has also hit peak activity, so much more active than it has been.

CatMad22 · 17/03/2023 18:20

@ru53 I’m joining in your exhaustion discussion too as I’ve felt wiped out all this week! (31+5) I’m hoping that it is just a growth spurt as others have said and that I’ll feel more energised again after the weekend. I’ve moved my maternity leave so I’ll be just 37 weeks - doing nothing is so appealing at the moment. They found my maternity cover at work today so I feel relieved!

ru53 · 17/03/2023 19:30

@TheBeesKnee thats interesting plus the fact we’re all hitting the same point at around the same time!
@lmw88 @CatMad22 yes I think 37 weeks makes so much sense. I’ve emailed work this afternoon and asked to use my AL for the last week so I’ll be finishing then too. As you say it’s so important to listen to our bodies and put health first ❤nearly there now, so excited to be in the next phase with the baby here

raffika · 17/03/2023 21:18

Sorry that you’re all feeling rubbish ladies. I’m 32+5 and (touch wood) I’m still feeling really good. I’ve been getting a bit of sciatic pain here and there if I overdo it, but otherwise no issues - long way that continue as I’m working for another 6 weeks. I remember the exhaustion well from early on, and it’s terrible, so I hope it passes for you all.

RugbyGirl1 · 17/03/2023 22:22

I'm feeling the same as @raffika , surprisingly fine at 31+5, no aches or pains or tiredness at the moment - maybe the growth spurt is yet to come! Planning on working right up until due date... Hope those who are taking it easy get the rest you need 😊

buuuka86 · 18/03/2023 08:22

Has anyone had contractions yet? I barely slept last night. I woke up in the middle of the night because I had this massive contraction or something, first like half the bump, on the left, under my ribs, then my entire lower back on the left! It hurt so much my DH woke up because I was breathing so heavily and moaning! Have you had that? Do you think that's Braxton Hicks? I have no idea. It passed pretty quickly.. The baby is moving so I believe he's fine.

RugbyGirl1 · 18/03/2023 13:31

@Janch13 thanks for the info on the childcare hours!

Flowersflowers121 · 19/03/2023 07:36

For those in the UK, did anyone get a mum to be card or anything for mother's day? :) X

CatMad22 · 19/03/2023 10:50

@Flowersflowers121 I did! A lovely surprise. My husband bought me a ‘Happy Mother’s Day from Bump’ card.

Flowersflowers121 · 19/03/2023 13:14

@CatMad22 awwwwhhh lovely!! :)

34 weeks today and feels like something has changed. All of a sudden feeling quite pregnant with a bit of discomfort, breathlessness and pulling and tugging sensations in bump. Have been so well until now so feels strange. Also developing a pregnant lady waddle so sudden realisation baby will be here soon. I arrived early at 35 weeks which has given me a bit of fear so finally caved and packed my hospital bag and baby's bag. Only things I need to add are coming home outfits for both of us and snacks (which everyone keeps reminding me about). Our nursery isn't quite finished yet and I want to hang all of baby's lovely new outfits there before I pack any away. My mum's also been knitting away so need to go round and pick up a few cardis for him. Can't quite believe baby could be here in six weeks time!

RugbyGirl1 · 19/03/2023 18:40

Eeep @Bananabreakfast123 the count down is real! I'm a bit behind you at 32 weeks, still feeling fine but anticipating I may be hit with what you describe at some point.... Just on baby clothes - what has everyone bought and from where? Is it vests and babygrows or is that too warm for summer? I keep looking and finding conflicting advice 🙄

CatMad22 · 19/03/2023 22:30

@Flowersflowers121 Thanks! How about you? :)

@RugbyGirl1 I’m 32 weeks too! Re clothes, I’ve bought mainly short sleeved bodysuits, then I have long sleeved sleepsuits for nighttime and a mix of little tshirts and bottoms for going out/if he tolerates something being put over his head! You make a good point about vests, I haven’t actually bought any. I got everything from Primark, H&M and supermarkets, nothing fancy.

TheBeesKnee · 20/03/2023 00:19

@RugbyGirl1 I have been buying lots of things from Vinted and mum2mum/nearly new sales. I now look at prices in shops and can't stomach paying £10 for 5 sleep suits when I know I can get 40 items at 20p a piece for the same price from a charity shop 😅 at those prices I just buy a mix of things that I think are cute in a variety of sizes.

I have bought some very cute things from Next and John Lewis though.

raffika · 20/03/2023 05:38

@RugbyGirl1 the consensus from friends (in particular one friend who had a baby last May) is that short sleeved vests and regular baby grows are ideal. If it’s particularly warm, you could dispense with the vest. I’m told that, even when it’s hot, baby should have sleeves if going outside to avoid sun exposure.

No idea if any of this is right of course, but I’m going with it - I can buy more clothes if I need to, but I think it’s unlikely
to be particularly hot in early May when my baby arrives.

Janch13 · 21/03/2023 17:58

Joining you ladies in the exhaustion club! 32 weeks and have felt fine until today, I’m hoping it just from a busy weekend but wow it’s hit me like a tonne of bricks. It’s like being back in the 1st trimester again!

RugbyGirl1 · 21/03/2023 18:23

Thanks guys!!

@CatMad22 I thought bodysuits and vests were the same thing maybe? Sorry for any confusion!!

ru53 · 21/03/2023 22:07

@Janch13 hope you get through it quickly! I do feel like I’m coming out the other side now but it’s been a good two weeks. Make sure to rest as much as you can (easier said than fine I know) I think my mistake was trying to power through it.

Irishgirl55 · 24/03/2023 12:55

Anyone find nice neutral baby clothes that don't have characters all over them? I keep seeing lovely plain ribbed ones but they don't have the built in mittens or cover the babies feet... and mittens and socks are not fun to keep putting back on haha!

CatMad22 · 24/03/2023 19:48

@RugbyGirl1 Maybe!! I have no idea what I’m doing 🤣 The ones I have have got little sleeves which I thought meant they weren’t vests, but maybe they are?!

Janch13 · 27/03/2023 13:57

33 weeks today and starting to feel really really pregnant. So tired, so heavy, so cumbersome, so breathless, raging heartburn, so uncomfortable, having to pull a 3 point turn to simply turn over in bed. Sorry to moan just feeling pretty fed up now. I feel like I did at 39 weeks pregnant with my first!

Mummybearto3bg · 27/03/2023 14:24

@Janch13 funny to hear someone else say I feel really pregnant now because I've said the same thing the last week. Im 33 weeks tomorrow. This is the smallest I've been but I had my first at 18 so I feel so much more tired now at 30! Everything is a chore isn't it 🫣 just got to hold on to the fact that it's really not much further to go! X
