@buuuka86 I've just joined peanut. Deffo giving me online dating trauma flashbacks. It's annoying you have to pay, but as they say if you're not paying you're not the customer - you're the product. So far it's promising, but too early to say whether it's going to work for me...

buuuka86 · 14/03/2023 21:09

@Melusina123 I'd suggest to message the mums that are local and at a similar stage directly as most of them don't have the subscription and will never see who "waved" at them. That's how I connected with a few and now we've moved to WhatsApp 😃

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 15/03/2023 06:02

Morning! So despite not being technically due until mid - May (and expected late April), my twins have made a surprise appearance. Will be on NICU for the foreseeable but touchwood they are doing well and working hard.

Melusina123 · 15/03/2023 07:07

@Myotherusernameisaferrari congratulations!! 🎊🎊🎊 I was just thinking yesterday actually that you might be coming up to having your twins! Glad they're doing well in the NICU. ♥️

Oh goodness, that’s fantastic news @Myotherusernameisaferrari, congratulations!!!! 💐💐💐

Just in time for Mothers’ Day!!

Are you ok? xx

buuuka86 · 15/03/2023 12:19

@Myotherusernameisaferrari I missed your post. Massive congratulations!!

Janch13 · 15/03/2023 14:54

@Myotherusernameisaferrari Huge congratulations to you! Hope you are all doing well. My niece and nephew were both born premature (29 and 32 weeks) and you’ll be amazed at how they thrive in NICU care; such resilient little things! How many weeks were you? Hope you’re recovering well! Must all be such a whirlwind for you!

Janch13 · 15/03/2023 14:56

@buuuka86 it is good news. I had hope the full scheme would be in place sooner but it’s still a help. I’m still reading up on it but if I interpret correctly, most of us here will benefit from 15 funded hours from Sept 2024, then 30 hours from Sept 2025.

wintersun21 · 15/03/2023 14:57

@Janch13 The cynic in me isn't wanting to believe it will happen purely because next year is a General Election year. But I have everything crossed

tiantian1005 · 15/03/2023 15:53

@Myotherusernameisaferrari congrats!! first born in this group!!!

I am still unclear whether this extension to 1 and 2 year old applies to parent earning more than 100K who currently gets 15 hours instead of 30, fingers crossed all of us can benefit from this.

buuuka86 · 15/03/2023 16:25

@Janch13 that's my understanding too. So we will have to go without any help from June till September 2024 but it's still better than nothing. I have to say, 30h sounds really good.

buuuka86 · 15/03/2023 16:26

@wintersun21 maybe that's their tactic so that we vote Tories 😅

AlwaysTryingToHelp · 15/03/2023 16:32

@Myotherusernameisaferrari Congratulations, such wonderful news! Hope all of you are okay :) Xxx

Janch13 · 15/03/2023 16:53

@buuuka86 Better than nothing! We only started in Jan getting the 30 funded hours for my 3yo and it’s SUCH a difference 🙌🏼 🙌🏼 🙌🏼

RugbyGirl1 · 16/03/2023 22:55

The announcement on childcare came at a great time! Is it 30 hours during term time, so less spread over the year?

Janch13 · 17/03/2023 08:27

@RugbyGirl1 Thats how it currently is so I imagine it would remain the same. We get 30 funded hours for our 3yo and spread them across 48 weeks of the year, becoming 23.5 a week. It’s a huge help

Janch13 · 17/03/2023 08:29

@RugbyGirl1 meant to add, some childcare providers are more flexible than others on spreading the hours, for example some pre schools are only open term time, so they can’t offer the availability to spread them across the year.

Myotherusernameisaferrari · 17/03/2023 08:47

Hi all, thank you for the lovely messages! I was only 30+4 so they're very early but the doctors are pleased with their progress (keeping everything crossed and touching wood and praying for a bit of luck!)

ru53 · 17/03/2023 10:02

@Myotherusernameisaferrari such lovely news!! It sounds like they are doing great 😊

Is anyone else struggling with the third trimester? I’ve had such an easy pregnancy up til now but it’s hit me like a train! I’ve basically been in bed for the past two weeks. I’ve been trying to work from home but can only manage an hour or two at a time then need to lie down. I’m starting to think I might have to start my Mat leave much sooner than I planned. I’m 30+6. Has anyone else gone through this and come out the other side or is it likely this is it now until the baby arrives? This is my first pregnancy so no idea what’s normal and I know it’s different for everyone anyway. I had loads of tests done at the hospital yesterday and they’ve all come back normal (still waiting on full bloods but my iron was normal).

may111 · 17/03/2023 12:13

@ru53 I could have written that myself 🙈 I'm 30+5 and massively struggling. My maternity leave is starting at 37 weeks but definitely thinking about taking a weeks holiday and then bringing my leave forward
