I second taking 0-3 as well as newborn... my first was way too big for newborn clothes! Luckily I had some larger outfits with me. But unless you or your partner are small or you know your baby will be born early, don't waste money on loads or newborn clothes. Ours weren't touched 🙈

I'm 5ft, DH is 6ft 8! Goodness knows what height bubs will be!

Zaalfruit · 19/01/2023 13:17

@DrinkingAllTheGin omg that’s exciting ! I can’t wait till you tell us all how tall the baby is !

DrinkingAllTheGin · 19/01/2023 15:33

We have often joked that any children would be normal height.

firsttimelondonmummy · 19/01/2023 16:20

@DrinkingAllTheGin we’ve been wondering how tall our boy will be.
Both my parents are short but I’m nearly 5’6 and my sister is 5’8.
DP has short parents and he is 6’0.
Who knows 🤷🏻‍♀️

We had a private anatomy scan today and all looked good so we’ve finally shared the news with everyone.

He was told off by the sonographer a few times for picking his nose 😂 and we got to see him in 3D which was amazing (he definitely has his dads juicy lips 🤣❤️)

Fantastic pics @firsttimelondonmummy
My scan is next week. Can't wait.
I think I am feeling bubs sometimes, but still not 100% convinced its not wind!

ImHopeful2023 · 19/01/2023 18:14

Aww lovely scan @firsttimelondonmummy

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 19/01/2023 20:08

Lovely scan! I'm definitely feeling DD now. I can't feel her on the outside still but she's also now moved slightly to my left and behind belly button. My bump is now starting to get in my way when leaving down or putting shoes on.

Hlc86 · 19/01/2023 20:15

Sooo had my re scan today and at first I thought it was going the same way as last week but at the very last attempt bubs uncrossed it's legs.... And it's a girl, I'm so thrilled I already have a little girl so thought I would prefence a boy but turns out I'm estacic either way, my little girl really wanted a little sister so I'm thrilled for her too, and my OH Is thrilled too, just glad all is as it should be as took a tumble yesterday on the ice, so was worried for her.

Baby was kicking so hard on Monday I thought I might be finally having regular movements (early I know) but they were quiet all week.

Unfortunately had a car accident yesterday so had a check up, took a while to find the heartbeat which was nerve wracking, but all is well. Think the accident was caused by exhaustion as I’ve been getting light headed and dizzy but all my obs are normal (working full time and when I’m not working have an 18 mo to care for). MW advised getting the GP to sign me off. I’m worried it’s not a solution, I might request WFH (which I did throughout the pandemic and still do hybrid working) so I don’t have to drive. Can I be barred from driving? If I have adjustments to my work for medical reasons can I be forced to take maternity leave early?

Good thing was that last night baby was really going for it as I tried to sleep and jolted me awake.

PurBal · 20/01/2023 06:19

And congratulations for all your scans, ours is Monday! DC1 is in childcare so DH and I are having a romantic day to ourselves 😀

usedtolovenaps · 20/01/2023 06:35

For those of you who already had 20w scans (either in this or other pregnancies), did you all get cervical length measured? x

usedtolovenaps · 20/01/2023 06:38

@PurBal sorry about your accident, glad the baby is okay ❤️x

Kelvie103 · 20/01/2023 08:00

Congratulations to everyone on their scans, those are some lovely pictures! I had a 3d preview at 17 weeks with my gender scan and am embarrassed to admit I burst out laughing as he looked like overdone melted cheese!

@PurBal sorry to hear about your accident but glad your baby is OK. I'd definitely try to speak to your boss about working from home. I have a really long commute by car and have been suffering from insomnia so was getting worried about being fit to drive. Both my boss and the lady who does hr for my company told me to work from home if I don't feel safe driving. The hr lady told me the company has a duty of care towards me and there's no point putting yourself at risk if you don't need to. If you can do your job from home just as well I don't see why you'd have to go on mat leave early.

PurBal · 20/01/2023 08:11

@Kelvie103 @usedtolovenaps i should say it wasn’t serious, just a bump but the seatbelt tightened and I started getting sharp pains, midwife suspected muscular fortunately.
I had a great relationship with my previous line manager and don’t get on with the new guy as well, he’s fine but yeah, not ideal. I don’t feel confident saying “I don’t think it’s safe I drive these distances”, especially since we’re short staffed and they’ve just upped my days in the office. I’ll speak to my GP, who is great, and see what he says. I want a sustainable solution I suppose.

LT103 · 20/01/2023 08:22

we had 20 week scan yesterday . All ok apart from slight dilation in one of his kidneys. Normal is up to 7mm and it was 7.1mm so only just and they said might resolve on its own but if not they will follow up once he’s born. Just something else to worry about but apparently really common??
Everything else looking perfect tho 💙💙

LT103 · 20/01/2023 08:22

@PurBal how scary. Glad you are ok and def take things easy for a week or so!!!

LT103 · 20/01/2023 08:23

@firsttimelondonmummy your first scan pic looks like they are smiling!!! 🥰🥰🥰🥰

BobbySD345 · 20/01/2023 09:51

Does anyone have any maternity tights, leggings and jeans recommendations for plus size? I usually wear a 16 x

usedtolovenaps · 20/01/2023 11:13

17 weeks. I had teeny tiny amount of brown spotting when wiping on a few occasions. But it was really small, smaller than a 5p coin!
Called EPU to ask if I needed to be concerned at all and they said no, and just to watch.
Everything scares me because I have this random phobia of cervical issues even though there's no history to suggest it (but also no history of full term pregnancy as this is the first one to make it to this stage).

usedtolovenaps · 20/01/2023 11:14

@LT103 how beautiful ❤️

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 20/01/2023 12:31

@usedtolovenaps I had brown/red/pink bleeding on wiping at 17 and 18 weeks. I was worried at the time as I know if it was bad news there's little they can do. Try not to worry I know it's hard though. Just keep an eye on it and for any severe pain. I'm 19+5 now and DD is kicking me so I'm not too worried.

usedtolovenaps · 20/01/2023 12:39

@BellaTheDarkOverlord thank you so so much for reassurance. Yeah, midwives weren't worried. I was just thinking that if eg it was sign of cervix starting to dilate, maybe they could stitch it (although I appreciate the amount is so tiny, I doubt it would be that!).
Glad all was well and D is kicking ❤️ Can't wait for my 20w scan. I am worried but DH is feeling very optimistic. We will start telling people after the scan.

firsttimelondonmummy · 20/01/2023 13:53

@LT103 not joking he loves smiling when we get to see him haha

Gorgeous scan pictures ladies 🥰 love seeing them!

Past couple of days I've been walking with my dog and have started getting low down pain , feels like I've done about a thousand sit ups, really sore heavy feeling! So then I have to walk really slow as it hurts. After sitting down/ laying down for a bit the pain wears off! So weird.

Only seems to happen on a walk 🤔

I have a drs app on Monday for a different pain I've been getting (so many pains haha) when I lay on my side (pins and needles in my hip) so will ask about it then!

Has anyone had similar?

C1umsyGiraffe · 20/01/2023 17:43

The photos are all gorgeous! Out 20 week scan isn't until 2nd Feb and struggling so much 😞 we're in London next weekend which will be a nice distraction, just need to get through this week!
