Congrats to all of you lovely ladies finding out your having baba girls 💗 seems like a baby girl boom! I'm finding out on Christmas Eve and I can't wait actually thought about going sooner just because I'm mega impatient but I'm not going to haha I think I'm having another girl DH thinks boy! X

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 16/12/2022 21:27

@Zaalfruit DD is 7. She will be about to turn 8 when this one arrives. Just been throwing up in toilet as DH's takeaway pizza turned my stomach and she came in to help me. She's lovely. She really wants a boy as she says that's what daddy wants.

@B1993 the vaccination doesn’t stop you getting Covid though it is just supposed to dampen the effects which for me wasn’t the case I actually got my worst bout of Covid after two vaccines.
It was also an extremely rushed process to get the vaccine out and it’s not even been on the market 3 years so just not enough research for me personally.
Great if you do feel confident enough though I just don’t feel personally with so many mutations and variants unless you are boosting every time one is announced you are much better off.
Flu though I’ll definitely have in Jan ☺️

Isn't that the point though? Unfortunately pregnant women are more likely to develop serious complications from covid compared to if they weren't pregnant. If you contract it within the third trimester, you're more likely to deliver a preterm or stillborn baby (not saying this to scare anyone), which is why the vaccine is recommended to reduce those risks. Plus, there's evidence to suggest some immunity is passed to baby when they're born and therefore they are less likely to be hospitalised if they contract it in the first few months of life.

As I said, it's a completely personal choice and one that not everyone will agree on, which is why we've all got to make the choice that's best for us and our bubs. I'm at high risk of contracting covid due to lots of exposure (I work in a primary school and lots of the children/their families have covid during their attendance). If I worked in an office with not much risk or option of working from home, if needed, it may be different.

As long as everyone is comfortable with their choice then that's the only thing that matters 😊

Congrats to everyone finding out the gender of their baby!! Lots of girls! 🎀🥰 Has anyone thought about names yet?! I always found girls names so much easier to come up with than boys!

I've decided not to have a scan this week as I'm pretty confident my baby is a boy based off of all the evidence (and science of sneak peek). It was just such a squeeze to find the time when we're all so busy (and now DH is poorly, too) so we're waiting for my 20 week scan to confirm. Then, we will most likely book a scan at around 30 weeks so DS can see his sibling.

It made me chuckle reading the buffalo comment! 😂 I showed DS my scan picture and he said something similar so hoping a later private scan will be more obviously a baby. 😅

Hlc86 · 17/12/2022 11:29

I have lots more girls names than I do boys so definitely agree it's harder to name boys. I'm not having the latest covid jab or flu jab, I had both covid jabs and the booster before, but just don't think it's something I want each year, plus I've had covid 5 times now and have just been struck down again with it. I've never had the flu jab, I get it offered each year but refuse as all my family end up really poorly after it,but each to their own. I'm currently laying in bed with my only coffee for the day and with my DD watching Christmas movies, life is pretty good right now (apart from covid)

LT103 · 17/12/2022 12:06

Oh I’m the opposite. I can think of lots of boys names but I don’t have one girls name!!!
I was convinced from my scans it’s a boy but I’m really not sure. Have my gender scan in a few days so once we know then hopefully can start thinking of names 😬

BobbySD345 · 17/12/2022 12:37

@Hlc86 we struggled with boy names too for our DS! Lots more girls names on the list.

B1993 · 17/12/2022 12:57

Myself and DH haven't discussed names yet but I've kept my list from my pregnancy with DS, which I have added to over the year so hoping something feels 'right' when DH and I start properly discussing it. Would be nice having an easier time choosing this time around.

On another note, is anyone else experiencing pretty frequent movements yet? I've been feeling baby almost every day now, particularly when I'm in bed lying still. Just felt baby just now though... I definitely feel like they movements getting a tad stronger 🥰

NalaNana · 17/12/2022 13:28

I'm 16+3 with baby no.1 and haven't felt any movements yet! That doesn't seem to be unusual tho, NHS says 16-24 weeks 🤰🏻

ImHopeful2023 · 17/12/2022 14:09

Hey all anyone else missing the pregnancy symptoms this no symptoms thing ppl say enjoy while you can had me worried I just wish I knew baby was still ok. Had my COVID booster injection yesterday and woke up shivering and then too hot last night had to take panadol anyone else experience this during booster

LT103 · 17/12/2022 14:17

2 or 3 times over last week I’ve felt a strange fluttery feeling but I’m still undecided if it’s baby or gas haha. Waiting to see if it keeps happening or not

tigerlily0 · 17/12/2022 16:25

@B1993 I'm 16+3 and definitely feeling some .loads yday but not any today

@ImHopeful2023 my sickness has stopped , and the days my SPD doesn't play up , apart from a rounder belly I'm like am I even pregnant??! With my other 2 kids I felt sickness up until 16weeks and 18weeks

B1993 · 17/12/2022 18:32

@NalaNana, it's definitely normal! I wish I could remember how far along I was with my first but don't think it was until around 17-18+ weeks.

@ImHopeful2023, I think it's a fairly common side effect. If you're worried, could you reach out to your community midwife?

I've been feeling quite tired and generally rundown this past week but there are so many bugs going around, im wondering if I'm getting sick 🤒 I'm in a fortune position to feel movements so that has helped ease my mind.

@tigerlily0 - same here! They have been a bit more frequent but then today I've felt them once! I know at this point there's loads of room for moving around which is why it's normal for movements not to be regular, but is nice when you feel one just for that bit of reassurance.

ImHopeful2023 · 17/12/2022 18:49

Thanks @tigerlily0 and @B1993

I have a scan 28th so will wait till then not much they can do just told me me everything was perfect in last scan doesn't stop me worrying tho. Must be such a wonderful feeling to feel movement

tigerlily0 · 17/12/2022 19:53

With my first baby I swear I was around 19/ 20 weeks when I first felt movement it didn't come after a long time, but they do say with more pregnancies u feel it sooner which seems to be true

@ImHopeful2023 I was so poorly for a few days after both covid jabs , similar symptoms to what ure saying

ImHopeful2023 · 17/12/2022 20:33

It's awful still can't warm up @tigerlily0 always seem to react to the boosters...I cant wait to feel movement like you

MrsP4 · 18/12/2022 08:47

Agreed, so many more girls names than boys! I already have a Willow 💗 and if it's another girl she will be Wynter That's already decided! Boys names....... meh 🙄 I like loads but DH is very picky we have one from when I was pregnant last time incase Willow was a boy but I don't know if I still love it I'm trying not to think about it too much so I don't go off it incase I am having a boy 🙈🤣

B1993 · 18/12/2022 09:01

Movements have been a bit sparse for me again today and I'm not feeling much at all. 😪 I know it's completely normal but, equally, they are so reassuring it's hard not to miss them! 😅

@MrsP4, Yes! I found a lot of boys names 'meh' which made naming DS so tricky. Although, for some reason I have always liked a few girl names beginning with 'L' which clashes with our surname and they all apparently sounds like porn star names (🙊🤦🏻‍♀️😂)... probably for the best that I don't have to worry about that!!

MrsP4 · 18/12/2022 09:05

@B1993 Haha that made me laugh porn star names 🤣

For those saying about movements I'm 15+ 4 haven't felt anything yet I don't think I will for another couple of weeks I had anterior placenta last time and I think it's the same this time I'll ask on Friday at my private scan where my placenta is the lady said at my 12 week scan she thinks it's at the front again but wasn't sure x

tigerlily0 · 18/12/2022 11:53

My list of girls names is super long. My other 2 have 4 letter names and I love short names. I have 0 names on my boy list, short or even long. Not sure what I'm going to do if it's a boy, I literally don't like any names

SR2811 · 18/12/2022 18:18

Hi everyone!

I just found this group, I’m due 20th June. I hope you’re all doing well.

Congratulations to all of you and I can see loads of girl babies 💗 Ive booked a private gender scan as I’m inpatient 😂 for 5th January and I can’t wait to find out.

This pregnancy has been complete opposite to last (no symptoms hardly over than tender breasts and tiredness, not been sick or felt sick) the no symptoms has worried me but had a scan a couple weeks ago and a healthy baby in there.

I am currently laid up in bed with COVID for the second time and this time it’s hit me worse not sure if it’s the pregnancy

xxx

B1993 · 18/12/2022 19:31

@MrsP4, I wish I was kidding... 🙊😅

My friend had an anterior placenta with her first and she didn't feel move to until 20+ weeks. They do say you feel move to a couple of weeks earlier with the second pregnancy so hopefully you won't be waiting too much longer. 🤞🏻

@tigerlily0 I hear you! Will you be finding out the gender or is this baby going to be a surprise? I've heard that some women get an instant feeling for the baby's name when they see them for the first time. Hopefully, if it is a boy for you, you'll know what their name is when you meet them, if you can't come up with anything beforehand.

I have a few names on my boy list but nothing that stands out to me above the rest and that I'm in love with. I'm sure they'll grow on me when myself and DH have narrowed it down and we start thinking of baby as that name.

@SR2811, welcome and congrats! Sorry to hear you've been suffering with covid - hopefully you'll recover quickly!

I'm impatient too, so much so that I did the sneak peek test at 6 weeks! 😅

With my DS, my pregnancy was pretty much as you've described! Apparently boys tend to cause less sickness so maybe it's a sign?!

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 18/12/2022 19:56

I barely had any sickness with my DD. This pregnancy sickness from 8 weeks right up to now still! I can't cough without retching. I feel so shit 😂Threw up yesterday at work from coughing so came home early. I've spent today in bed trying to feel better. 15 weeks today and not feeling any movement yet. I think with DD I didn't feel anything until 18 weeks.

dresslol · 19/12/2022 07:14

@SR2811 so sorry to hear you have covid, I felt pretty awful with it a few days ago. Do keep a close eye on your temperature and take paracetamol up to every 4 hours as this will help to keep your temperature down. It’s elevated temperatures that can be a problem. Hope you feel better soon, I had 2 days of feeling particularly wretched and then was over the worst.

C1umsyGiraffe · 19/12/2022 09:37

Just found out I'm rhesus negative and baby is rhesus positive... Not too worried as it just means I have to have a couple extra injections and be careful of any bumps. Just wondered if anyone else is in the same boat?
