I'm convinced I've started feeling movements but I'm only 16+2 and it's my first baby so not sure if it's possible? I've started feeling light tapping/vibrating/bubble popping type sensations
It feels like it's in a different place to my stomach. I'm really not sure

NalaNana · 13/12/2022 20:47

@Veryxonfused can be possible! I had a midwife appointment today (at 15+6) and she asked if I had been feeling movements yet or flutters (I haven't!). Everything I think might be a flutter is too high up!

AstroH · 13/12/2022 22:13

@firsttimelondonmummy the bath thing drives me mad. I love having a hot bath and have one almost every night. For most of my first trimester I was away for work with only a shower but when I got back I really struggled with how hot to have it. You’re so right that the temperature they suggest is basically lukewarm. I feel like for it to raise your core temperature to dangerous levels, it would need to be significantly hotter than body temperature.

I read a couple of studies that said it is really quite hard to raise your core temperature that high. That calmed me down a bit. Now I reckon I do have the baths under 40 degrees (I tested it tonight and it was about 38) but if I have them closer to 40 I set a timer for 20 minutes so I’m not in there too long. As you say, the water cools down anyway and I don’t know about you, if it’s any colder then I start to feel cold! I know what feeling hot is like (like when you’ve been in a sauna for ages or when I used to race on really hot days) and I don’t feel like that when I get out the bath so I reckon it’s fine?

tigerlily0 · 13/12/2022 22:17

@firsttimelondonmummy don't worry too much about food, ul make urself go crazy. Just eat what u like and what u can. I eat takeout when I want but usually it's because I'm too tired or sick to make anything and my husband can't cook apart from bare basics.

@Veryxonfused I'm 16 weeks tmrw and iv been getting the odd flutters down below and also bubble popping type thing, my third baby so could be the baby movements

firsttimelondonmummy · 13/12/2022 22:39

@DrinkingAllTheGin I’m missing red wine and hot hot baths and red wine in hot hot baths like you wouldn’t believe 😩😂

@AstroH I think mine are around 40 but after 5/10 minutes in them I have to top up the hot because they’ve got so cold.
Like you said you know when you are hot and if anything I’m getting a bit chilly shortly after soaking 🥶

@tigerlily0 thanks for the reassurance 🙏🏻

@HalWin2221 I’ve definitely had moments this pregnancy of ‘what the hell am I doing?!’ It was planned, but I think reality hits a bit harder once it happens and the panic can start to set in. I suffered with post natal depression with my last baby (lockdown, everything was shit frankly!) and I’m quite worried about it happening again. My main advice would be to talk to people. Talk to your partner, talk to the midwife, talk to us here! No one is going to judge you. I hope you’re feeling better soon x

BobbySD345 · 14/12/2022 07:01

@AstroH I have never been a bath fan thankfully. I would never have time anyway as I have a 3 year old. Lucky to get a 5 minute shower lol. I started to have some in later pregnancy with my first with epsom salts because I was really sore and achey and it helped but I either get too hot and bothered or too cold so not a fan. I was always told to run them at no higher than 38. And then when my waters were trickling at 37+2 weeks my friend said run a hot one, I got out and they burst everywhere which was a good tip 🤣 He was born at 37+3

BobbySD345 · 14/12/2022 07:02

Re the movement thing I felt them from around 17 weeks with my last pregnancy but wasn't sure what to look out for. It's a strange sensation early on, like a fluttering butterfly or bug or a quick light tapping.

Algor1thm · 14/12/2022 07:11

I've been feeling movements for a couple of weeks (2nd baby) and last night started feeling little kicks for the first time at 16 weeks. They're like tiny little taps at this stage though. I felt my first early too, around the same time, so it's definitely possible.

MrsP4 · 14/12/2022 08:55

@LT103 Oh wow that's a long time for it to last! I've been searching the net to see if it's common on pregnancy but not much info out there. Wouldn't be surprised if it is related some how.
I'm 15 weeks today occasionally feel like I might feel the odd bubble popping sensation the last couple days but then probably just wind 🤣 I had anterior placenta last time and think it's the same this time so probably be another couple weeks before I feel anything proper. I can't wait for the big movements and kicks though best feeling ever!

justbelieve · 14/12/2022 09:15

12 week scan complete, which feels like the biggest milestone 💪🏻

NT measurement was 1.8mm and now to wait for blood results.

My new DD is 22 June. Any DD twins out there? ☺️

C1umsyGiraffe · 14/12/2022 09:24

@justbelieve my due date is also 22nd! How exciting, glad it all went well :) how are you feeling?

justbelieve · 14/12/2022 11:33

@C1umsyGiraffe aw yay! Congratulations! I feel really good, although I’ve had hardly any symptoms throughout anyway. How are you feeling?

C1umsyGiraffe · 14/12/2022 11:37

@justbelieve that's amazing! I've been so lucky too, had hardly any symptoms. Boobs hurt in the beginning and I can't walk upstairs without needing to take a breather but that's it!

Have you brought anything yet? I've brought a couple bits of clothes but I've been put on hold by my husband 😂

BobbySD345 · 14/12/2022 12:11

My due date is 25th ! I feel like I am behind a lot of you. We buy something small every time we have a scan. This time we got the plain white asda 3 pack of sleeps suits with the vests, mitts and hats. I love the plain white bits. Last time we got a beige cardi with Teddy ears 🥰 we won't get anything big until after around 20 weeks or so.

Ally1992 · 14/12/2022 12:17

I was told at my scan that my uterus is tilted back so I probably won’t feel any movements until later, I think she maybe said 18 weeks but can’t remember now. Has anyone else been told this?

I haven’t bought anything but my mum has been buying a lot! I told her to keep it all at her house for now 😅

25th was my original due date but now 23rd so not far off! We’ve done exactly the same thing with little bits to mark the milestones so first scan, heartbeat, 12 weeks scan etc. X

dresslol · 14/12/2022 13:21

I’ve just tested positive for covid, feeling a bit panicked about potential harm… anyone know anything about it?

justbelieve · 14/12/2022 17:38

@dresslol my partner tested positive a couple of weeks ago, I never tested myself as I was so anxious and knew it would make that so much worse, so I just stayed in and worked from home - I got a cough and felt really really tired, some days really achy. I don’t know for sure if I caught it or if it was just a cold (he lost his smell but I didn’t), but I probably did considering we shared a bed and baby was fine ❤️

HalWin2221 · 14/12/2022 17:38

@Fredthespider thank you for your reply & reassurance, I was starting to think I was the only one! I think I’ve been getting in my own head about it. Sorry that you went through such a tough the first time, I hope this one is easier for you emotionally! I’ve spoken to my OH & a friend and I do feel better, thank you again! Xx

justbelieve · 14/12/2022 17:38

Just received my NIPT results back and low risk for everything and I’m having a girl! So excited but was so confused I was having a boy 🤣

dresslol · 14/12/2022 18:07

@justbelieve thanks for your message, will try to be calm. I had a low risk NIPT and am having a girl too! I also thought it was a boy, no idea why really, just decided

firsttimelondonmummy · 14/12/2022 18:15

@justbelieve @dresslol congrats on your little girls 💖
I knew I’d have a boy because I technically shouldn’t (my family is 3 generations of women) and I’ve always been the rule breaker 😂

@dresslol i found lemon and ginger tea with some honey in it really helped me, I also drank a lot of orange juice to get some vitamin c in and made sure I took my vitamin D tablets. I know it’s scary, but I know a few ladies who have had covid whilst pregnant, and all worked out fine ❤️

dresslol · 14/12/2022 18:33

Thanks @firsttimelondonmummy and @justbelieve i shall drink lemon, honey and ginger cross my fingers and Google the price of a private scan for when I get out of quarantine!
ugh, tis never straightforward
