@becca0195 mine is today too and I am so nervous. I've given myself an upset stomach worrying over it. Hope yours goes OK x

Zaalfruit · 13/12/2022 07:09

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay ( sorry just catching up ) I hope you are alright - I am sorry for the news that you have been given . Lots of support for you - so if you need to say anything or vent please do not hesitate to come here and say it . Or even pm anyone privately for support. Sending you lots of hugs and well wishes.

@Dewintergarden thats really odd that they discharged you so early . I know a few people who have given birth private and the NHS has does the screening and scans and the hand over happens normally at 32 weeks . Shows how under pressure nhs are ! I would book privately a scan and do any bloods that have been missed . (I also reckon you can self refer yourself back in Jan if you want care from the NHS )

BobbySD345 · 13/12/2022 07:11

@MrsP4 glad it is easing up a bit! Try and rest. Avoid stress (easier said than done) and caffeine cheese and chocolate. If I drink caffeine now it sets mine off within 10 mins or so.

@tigerlily0 I have a pronounced bump at 12 weeks. Rock hard I can feel my uterus. We have our Xmas party on Friday and there is no way it will go unnoticed. I'm wearing black which will help and I've picked a big clutch bag haha. I'll just to have to not stand sideways at any point. Work has been easier because if I am at court everyone is in their own world and doesn't notice and the office is practically the North Pole last 2 weeks so we have all had massive cards scarves and even coats on !

MrsP4 · 13/12/2022 08:43

@BobbySD345 thank you! I've been doing lots of reading up , Discovered I've got BPPV basically positional vertigo happens in the night, in bed and while lying down! Felt a bit funny this morning so just took a tablet like when you can feel it coming on, I've worked out too I have certain triggers, if I get a bit too warm in bed or not enough sleep it kicks it off so trying my best to do everything 🙈

I'm 15 Weeks tomorrow and my belly has popped a bit but very low! Carried the same last time was never high! People always told me I would never make full term and that I was having a boy, she was indeed a girl and I gave birth at 39-+3 all the myths are rather funny. This is me now, currently can't wear a normal bra in my old nursing bras or sports bras already! I've never been gifted in that area was at the back of the queue for boobs so I'm made up haha

BobbySD345 · 13/12/2022 09:06

@MrsP4 I am in no way that slim but I would say mine is a similar shape. Seems very low, suppose that is the uterus expanding. In the evening after dinner I'm finding if I'm slouched on the sofa I want to rip my wired bra off. I also bought new leggings in the next size up at the weekend and they're too tight for sure!

MrsP4 · 13/12/2022 09:20

Yeah that's what I thought the uterus moving up and popping out! I have my gender scan a week on Saturday and I'm getting so inpatient! I think I'm having another girl, but alot if family have said boy 🙈 can't believe first time round I went 9 months without knowing 🤣

BobbySD345 · 13/12/2022 10:36

@MrsP4 I couldn't do it ! I need to know ! I also think it'll help our 3 year old understand and be able to bond with baby if he knows baby sister or baby brother.

Mayfield87 · 13/12/2022 11:08

Hey can I join? Had my 12 week scan yesterday and all good. His will be my second baby due 18th June 23 🥰

theblueflowers · 13/12/2022 11:23

Hi @becca0195 I'm right there with you. Two previous miscarriages and my first 12 week scan is in 4 hours! It doesn't seem real.

I'm doing my best to think about the positives and tell myself that I've had no signs to tell me that this one is going to go wrong. It's really hard though!

Hope you're doing okay x

Dewintergarden · 13/12/2022 12:05

@Zaalfruit @Algor1thm @B1993 thank you all for your responses. I've just spoken to the private scanning place I went to at 12 weeks and they said the NIPT test results will show up anything chromosomal wise which I should get by Friday or next Monday. The private consultants secretary also said that when I see him in the new year (I will be just over 17 weeks) that they will give me a 20 week anomaly scan before and then have the consultation to discuss my birth plan after. I just didn't want to miss anything the NHS offered as part of the 12 week.

Texasholdem20 · 13/12/2022 12:15

justbelieve · 12/12/2022 17:35

Those that had NIPT tests, how long did your results take?

Had my test on Sat 3rd and not heard anything… could be because postie probably didn’t collect until Monday so unlikely to get to the lab until Tuesday, so really it’s only been 4 business days if they arrived on Tuesday, but I want them now :(

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday morning and really hoped I’d have the NIPT results before that… fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞🏻

Hey - I had my NIPT (Vision IONA) done with ultrasound direct on 29/11/22 and results came back low risk via e-mail on 9/12/22 - so 8 working days. They did say postal strikes are causing havoc with the labs so worth giving your provider a chase and they can get a rough time estimate from the lab. Best of luck!

Oh bless you! I hope it all goes well, mine scan was cancelled then they called a offered me another one at another hospital so it's ok just got to wait another two hours more 😬 im so nervous I've just taken another pregnancy test

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 13/12/2022 14:28

Just been to EPAU as woke up still leaking a clear fluid. I then wiped on going to toilet this morning and had a small red blood clot. EPAU asked me to come in and they did a smear test type thing to check my cervix. They said it's fully closed so no clue where leakage or blood came from. They took swabs and will test fluid. They said keep any pads I use in case they need to test the fluid and ring if it's getting worse in a few days. Feel a bit better knowing cervix is closed.

14+2 weeks now and used Doppler again and found heartbeat. Makes me tear up listening to it.

BobbySD345 · 13/12/2022 14:29

Finally had my dating scan. All looks OK. Now we are having turkey and stuffing batches as a treat to celebrate and I am actually enjoying it ! Maybe this is the new crisps for me. I will be piling on the weight !

Pregnancy is so weird, I spend the majority of my day either extremely anxious, googling things or overwhelmingly on-the-verge-of-tears happy because I just feel so lucky to be pregnant 😂
Is this what pregnancy hormones do to you?

BobbySD345 · 13/12/2022 16:31

@Veryxonfused Always googling ! The sonographer said today that my placenta is at the bottom so of course I've been googling that all afternoon too.

They said this to me too at my dating scan, but when I had my bloods taken after they said it doesn’t matter at this stage and when I went to my 16 week private scan the sonographer told me that they shouldn’t have even mentioned it. I was told it should move up by the 20 week scan and it’s normal at this stage as your uterus is smaller.
Surprisingly I’m not that worried about it tbh, I think they just mentioned it to me as I had some spotting in the first trimester and they said it could have been caused by the low placenta

firsttimelondonmummy · 13/12/2022 17:35

Anyone else beating themselves up over diet? I’m struggling to find the energy to eat and if I do I’m often just cooking beige or ordering a takeaway as DP works evenings 😭
Feel so bad for it 😭 keep panicking I’m not doing the right thing for baba 😩

@MrsP4 ive had BPPV for years. It will come on for a few days then be fine for a couple of months and repeat. Tablets never helped mine but I got referred to a balance nurse and they gave me exercises to do when it flares up which help (eventually. They aren’t nice to do) called Brandt-darroff exercises if you want to look that up. It’s just to help move the crystals out of the Orr of your ear that is causing the issues.
bizarrely I had a bout 2 weeks ago that lasted about 10 days which is longer than usual so wonder if it’s pregnancy related

HalWin2221 · 13/12/2022 17:58

Anyone else really struggling with their mood? I’m so grateful & happy to be pregnant and want this baby more than anything but I’ve just got this overwhelming feeling of sadness constantly at the moment and I can’t understand why? I’m currently 11+4, but I’m so emotional. Any tips? :(

AstroH · 13/12/2022 18:10

@firsttimelondonmummy you read my mind! I am struggling with eating healthily. I’m not even feeling sick or hugely tired any more so have no excuse really! I think part of it is that I now actually have an appetite I’m excited to eat food again! Today I had a burger and chips for lunch. I can feel my body changing from all the unhealthy and don’t feel great about it. I think the fact there’s Christmas food about isn’t helping. I’m hoping I’ll do a bit better in January when everyone is on a health kick. I really wouldn’t worry about baba. As long as you’re eating something and getting some fruit in a smoothie or juice I’m sure you’re more than fine.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 13/12/2022 19:01

Those talking about moods. Mine has been shocking today. No tolerance, quick to anger and very sensitive. I hate it.
And diet, well I've just bought a bag of potato smiles and tempted to cook the lot!

firsttimelondonmummy · 13/12/2022 19:35

@AstroH , @DrinkingAllTheGin it’s just so hard to be one of these IG salad moms.
Got shamed for the first time today too was asked by a colleague why I was ordering fast food when pregnant 😩 didn’t half make me feel worse.
Also don’t even get me started on the moods I’m crying all the time and snapping at the littlest of things and then also worrying that’s affecting baby.

Also I wanted to ask is anyone taking hotter than the recommended baths?
I waited till mine got down to the recommended temp the other day and it was soooooo cold 😭
I’m not having them hot enough that I sweat or go red but hot enough that I feel it’s nice and toasty when lowering in.
They cool off so quick in this cold too.
We don’t have a shower at the minute (moving out of this hell hole next week) so I’m only taking baths and can’t stand lukewarm ones.

DrinkingAllTheGin · 13/12/2022 20:17
