I had my twelve week scan this week. We know the exact date of conception and I should have measured 12W4D but measured exactly 12W - did any of you experience anything similar? I’m trying not to worry 🤞🏻 We have a gender scan booked for the 23rd so will be a nice Christmas surprise.

Yes I'm simlier, I'm convinced my due date should be the 30th but they have dated me the 23rd, I know its only a week but not the point lol. Do you not have to be at least 16 weeks for the gender scans?

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 12/12/2022 15:52

I had my scan today and our Nuchal translucency measured 12.6. We are devastated as even though the blood tests will take a while it seems highly likely a very bleak outcome with such a high number. We are waiting to find out what the next steps are from screening. I hope everyone else receives better news than me.

BobbySD345 · 12/12/2022 16:06

@Hlc86 the private clinic we use said 15 weeks but definitely more chance of them getting it right from 16 weeks x

BobbySD345 · 12/12/2022 16:07

@C1umsyGiraffe Congratulations ! 🎊

Fredthespider · 12/12/2022 16:08

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I hope it’s just a blip and the bloods come back more positive. We’re here if you need to talk x

dresslol · 12/12/2022 16:20

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay I'm so sorry, you must be so shaken. I grew up with a profoundly disabled sister and it is a hard path. Not without joy at times but remember to try to not be too unduly influenced by the opinions of others, do what is right for you as it will be you walking whatever path you choose. If you ever need any support, I’m here, we all are x x x x

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 12/12/2022 16:39

@Fredthespider and @dresslol thank you x

ImHopeful2023 · 12/12/2022 17:14

Congrats @C1umsyGiraffe that's brilliant .

ImHopeful2023 · 12/12/2022 17:15

Hey all I'm not 15 weeks and not really having much symptoms since 10 weeks had a scan last week and baby was moving alot and good heart beat anyone else feeling like this

C1umsyGiraffe · 12/12/2022 17:18

@ImHopeful2023 I haven't had any symptoms at all! Would be nice to have the confirmation but I'm also feeling so lucky! Only had sore boobs in the beginning but that's gone away, not had any morning sickness or anything! Don't feel any different to normal 😂

ImHopeful2023 · 12/12/2022 17:33

If only we could have a scan everyday for reassurance @C1umsyGiraffe i hope all.is ok but after two misscarriages this year I'm.so. nervous but haven't been this far along before..

justbelieve · 12/12/2022 17:35

Those that had NIPT tests, how long did your results take?

Had my test on Sat 3rd and not heard anything… could be because postie probably didn’t collect until Monday so unlikely to get to the lab until Tuesday, so really it’s only been 4 business days if they arrived on Tuesday, but I want them now :(

I have my 12 week scan on Wednesday morning and really hoped I’d have the NIPT results before that… fingers crossed for tomorrow 🤞🏻

justbelieve · 12/12/2022 17:39

@ImHopeful2023 ive had barely any symptoms, I had nausea at dinner time for about a week at 6 weeks, but at 7 weeks that disappeared completely.

My nipples have been sore and I’ve been waking up in the night for a wee since I found out, but that’s it. I almost wanted really bad symptoms to know that everything was fine!

I had a scan at 11 weeks on the 3rd and was dated 3 days ahead so I’m hoping everything is ok, but the lack of symptoms throughout massively contributed to my anxiety - I ended up having 4 private scans (one was for the NIPT test) in 11 weeks! Very nervous for my 12 week scan on Wednesday, but trying to be positive until I have a reason to be otherwise ❤️

ImHopeful2023 · 12/12/2022 17:51

Hi @justbelieve I know exactly what you are feeling.im basically in same boat as you was relieved at my 12 week scan to see everything was ok and I'm hoping it will be the same for you. We really have nothing to say things are going wrong either so I'm trying to hold onto that and this group is great to keep the positivity going x

B1993 · 12/12/2022 18:30

@WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay, I'm so sorry the scan didn't yield a more positive outcome for you. 😢 As others have said, don't be influenced by what other people think; ultimately you know what's best for you and your family. Sending big hugs your way 💜

Dewintergarden · 12/12/2022 20:23

Hello everyone I've decided to have an elective c-section privately and my NHS hospital have discharged me and I've not had a 12 week scan with them but have at a private scan clinic along with a NIPT test. Is there anything your 12 week scans entailed that I need. My private consultant isn't available for a consultation until 9th January and I will be 17 weeks by then. I also didn't want to be discharged as I'm not sure when I would like to start with the consultant and it will be likely after 20 weeks which would mean another scan missed - should I self refer again? I'm 13w2days. Thank you

becca0195 · 12/12/2022 21:12

Hey! I've got my 12 week scan tomorrow, and to say I'm scared is a understatement, we have had a couple of miscarriages and we've never made it this far and I'm so scared and nervous for bad news tomorrow.

I'm not sure what or why I'm writing this, we haven't told anyone we are pregnant this time round wanted to wait for 12 weeks.

So much going through my head... is it there, was it even there, what if it's gone, I'm so worried

WarriorsComeOutToPlayaaay · 12/12/2022 21:25

Thank you @B1993 x

BellaTheDarkOverlord · 12/12/2022 22:05

@becca0195 Sorry not much I can say to make you feel less anxious. I hope your scan goes ok tomorrow xx

TMI but is anyone having any vaginal leakage? I woke up wet down there to point it was dripping down leg. It's clear and watery and still happening even after I go for a wee. I'm 14 weeks now. Didn't have this with DD. Hoping baby is not running out of room and it's amniotic fluid.

MrsP4 · 12/12/2022 23:36

Hi all the Vertigo has really eased up thank goodness it's horrific worse at night when lying down and in bed but not had any episodes like the other night it was just horrendous can't even describe it, hope everyone's well! Xx

tigerlily0 · 12/12/2022 23:40

@BellaTheDarkOverlord not had that before, might be worth contacting ur community mw for advice?

@MrsP4 my nausea has really eased up, I'm 16 weeks on wed, tho I have had the odd day where I feel nauseous from being bloated

Is anyone else really showing now, I'm actually struggling a bit in terms of roundness of belly and it's so high up, I get tired so quick from walking even a little. I'm only 16 weeks. Its my 3rd baby so assuming that's why iv popped so soon

B1993 · 13/12/2022 06:55

@Dewintergarden, the 12w scan checked baby's size for dates and I opted for the combined scan to indicate chances for chromosomal abnormalities.

I'd definitely book in privately if you've not had the nhs one and they've discharged you. You could always get back in touch after and see if they'll do the 20w scan. As you're already 13+ though, I personally wouldn't want to leave it longer.

Your NHS hospital shouldn't have discharged you without your consent, especially if you're not yet under a private consultant. You're still entitled to NHS care if you want it alongside private care. If get back in touch and say that you didn't want to be discharged and you'd like your 12 and 20 week scans please.

Algor1thm · 13/12/2022 06:59

I'd

B1993 · 13/12/2022 07:02

@becca0195, just wanted to say good luck for today! Hope all goes well - keep us updated!

@BellaTheDarkOverlord, this isn't something I've experienced. TMI, but I've had a huge increase in discharge, so much so that I requested to be tested for infections. All came back normal, though. I'd definitely check in with the mw just to rule amniotic fluid out, but could it be really watery discharge?

@MrsP4, glad you're feeling better!

@tigerlily0, I feel HUGE. This is my second pregnancy and also came just a few weeks after a loss (where, presumably, everything would have already started stretching) so thinking that's why I'm so big so early?! To be fair though, I showed very quickly with my first so I also think I naturally show sooner. 🤷🏻‍♀️
