Not heard from EPU yet, managed to get a couple of extra hours sleep though! I have had no more bleed since about 0630 so fingers crossed it was the end of it.. im torn what to do, boyfriend told me to book a private scan to reassure myself but then don’t want to book that too early and EPU ring and get me in this evening!

Might give EPU until mid morning and if there is no joy then book a private one, luckily the place near us with amazing reviews have loads of appointments this afternoon should all else fail!
I feel daft running for scans but bleeds really scare me! X

@LauraA31, ahh this is so scary for you - I'm so sorry you're having to go through this. Was it a lot of bleeding or some spotting? I've had something in between light bleeding and spotting at 12+3 with bright red blood. It was an hour before my 12 week scan and I was petrified, but it turned out to be nothing! Also had some headaches in the past week, but I've read they are common in pregnancy.

Hope you hear back from the EPU as soon as possible, and yes I would book a private scan too if they can't see you today. Could you try and hold a slot without paying at a private clinic today, explaining you're waiting on the EPU?

So I have my NIPT and scan this morning, do you think they’d take a guess at the gender on the scan? I’m 15 weeks tomorrow 😊 thinking if it’s 99% from 16 weeks then they should be able to make a guess one way or the other! I’m so impatient 😆

@SavedByGraceAlone that’s so good that all was okay for you! I have booked a private scan for 5pm (going to be the longest day of my life!) unfortunately had to pay in full just because we booked on the day and understandably they needed to know we would attend.
EPU we’re only concerned that id be a negative blood group for the injection; my bloods were taken three weeks ago though so surely they will be able to find out before bringing me in..
Either way, i will know this evening if baby is okay and then the rest can be sorted 😅

@Cuppasoupmonster good luck for your scan! I hope that they give you a little guess, im also impatient and would want them to guess too haha! X

@LauraA31 sorry to hear about the bleeding, thinking of you and hope all goes well at the scan later!

@LauraA31 how scary, I hope it's all OK. Going for a scan today seems like a sensible thing to do to me, even if it's just for your peace of mind it's worth it.

@Cuppasoupmonster hope your scan and NIPT goes well today! Even if they won't guess the gender you could ask for a potty shot so you can guess yourself??

Good idea ancient I’ll do that! We’ll find out for sure when the NIPT comes through anyway, so hopefully they’ll do it knowing I’m not about to rush out and buy stuff until I get the results!

Feeling quite rough again today, no matter how much I drink I always feeL dehydrated, does anyone else?

@Cuppasoupmonster yep I always feel dehydrated. I'm not drinking enough though so that's why! I still can't stand drinking water and there are no other drinks I fancy so I have to force myself to drink.

Before I was pregnant I was drinking around 3 litres of water and tea a day, I got used to drinking so much when I was breastfeeding loads. Now I can barely manage 1.5 litres a day so my body is pissed off about it! When I was really sick a few weeks ago I was drinking less than a litre and my skin was so dry it was peeling off.

@Cuppasoupmonster hope your scan goes well. I feel dehydrated too especially when waking up during the night and in the morning, mouth feels so dry! Finding it harder to drink more water now that it's colder so it's probably cos of that.

@LauraA31 hope everything is OK, don't feel silly going for scans, bleeds are scary x

@LauraA31 thinking of you and I'm sure everything will be okay. I've had pretty consistent headaches throughout pregnancy so far and they are only just starting to ease off at almost 13 weeks. They immediately come back if I'm tired though!

Hi all, hope you're all well and having a good day. Haven't caught up with the thread but had my scan today and glad to know baby is well and all is good. Am 13+6 with EDD of 14th Apr. Not sure if pic is good enough for a nub guess but happy to hear any predictions @Cuppasoupmonster @Skylark1990 and other experts :)

Ah it was me! It’s good to pick up some essentials from there isn’t it! I’m not into baby things yet so that’s me easing into things!

i need to research prams abs learn what they all so. There’s so many, all with didn’t things to consider! 😅😅

@Pommy1 thanks for the tip on H&M sale! Very annoyingly everything I bought last week is now on sale 😂might get a few other bits though. I find their nursing stuff v good too, although I'd recommend cotton bras as these are more breathable and comfy - and size up as when your milk comes it, they grow! I have loads of the H&M leggings from last time, they're nice and comfy but quite thin. Good for going round the house though or wearing a longer jumper over!

@Tubbytele I can't see a nub at all I'm sorry! Will you be finding out the sex or waiting for a surprise?

@LauraA31 You can’t possibly feel silly, some pregnancy symptoms can be terrifying and I think getting a private scan although expensive is priceless sometimes. We are all thinking of you as although the chances are the little bean is just keeping you on your toes, we would all feel very similar Ace be doing exactly what you are. Let us know how you all are later xx

@Skylark1990 I too couldn't see a nub but thanks for checking. We will ask for the gender at the 20 week scan but we aren't having any gender test or NIPT test so will have to wait til the scan if they're able to see

Hi ladies been trying to keep up, hope everyone is ok ❤️ Pregnancy is so tough emotionally!

I have just had a discussion with a consultant about a colposcopy I was due to have following my smear test and my anxiety around having that whilst pregnant. She has reassured me that the colposcopy wouldn’t put the baby at any risk and would just be physically looking at the outside of the cervix to identify whether any treatment is needed. Treatment wouldn’t be done the same day if needed and would be able to make a plan around this which I would be fully informed about. Feel a bit better about it and going to go to the appointment next week for the colposcopy. I was really anxious last week as I was so unwell with the flu and took some cold and flu medication which turned out not to be that safe in pregnancy, the consultant said if I’m happy to hang about and wait for her clinic to finish she will do a reassurance scan for me while I’m here. Of course I am going to wait 🤣 @DBS94 I know you were having a similar journey to me with consultant appointment etc hope you’re ok too xx

So I've had my colposcopy treatment pre pregnancy. I have my meeting with the consultant a week tomorrow who is going to do an internal scan to check if my cervix is holding up okay (colposcopy treatment can shorten cervix). I am overdue my smear and had a wobble last week and ended up calling the GP in tears 😂 my last smear 3 years ago came back okay and HPV negative but I think it's just such a horrible feeling not being able to go to smears etc xx

What vaccinations have you all been offered? I've got my flu jab booked, but I've been told I can have another Covid booster too...

I remember when the covid vaccine was made available there was concerns about pregnant ladies having it? I've had 3 jabs for Covid already so a bit hesitant on a 4th .... what are others doing?
