@Tropicana1 i can't wait for that horrible taste to go away! I seem to remember it went by 16 weeks in my last pregnancy so hopefully only 2 more weeks to go!

Pommy1 · 12/10/2022 07:58

I love the sound of a WhatsApp group 😍😍
when shall we set one up? 🙌🏼🙌🏼

sour taste - ice lollies are the way apparently, although maybe for a different climate 😅

Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 08:26

I feel similarly about the Facebook group, I find it more confusing as I know your Mumsnet pseudonyms better 😂 nice to have both tho. And yes a WhatsApp group will be really nice I'm happy to set it up when the time is right, I think people said after 20 weeks / closer to third trimester? Im happy whenever 🥰

@Margo34 I think that sounds like a good plan to gradually stop like that especially if you have extra. I know a lot of people still only take them till 12 weeks (have a friend who recently stopped at 12 weeks) and it's only the recent Tommy's research that suggests 16 is better so you should be absolutely fine.

I got my bloods back from the doctor and it shows immunity for chicken pox so that's reassuring! Feeling less stressed by it now. Still not ideal, poor DD is itchy 😕

I've also been having some really tight chesty feelings lately tho and it's been causing me anxiety, as worry I can't breathe properly. Then last night in bed as I was coughing loads and feeling sorry for myself I suddenly realised maybe it was my asthma flaring up! So I dug around for my inhaler and omg the relief was instant. So glad I figured that out 😅 I don't get it often, so just didn't think. My inhaler has actually expired so need to get a new one but it still seemed to work.

How is everyone today? X

Morning ladies! Hope that everybody is feeling okay!

Headache is still here and doesn’t seem to be shifting! Going to spend the day doing nothing and watching more pretty little liars ha! I started watching a few weeks ago and didn’t expect much but it’s got me hooked!
I work shifts and every three weeks get my days off in the middle of the week, it’s brilliant because boyfriend is at work and it’s just me and the animals!! 😆

im 12 weeks today; feels absolutely crackers but i got a wave of relief knowing ive hit the 12 week mark.
my boss at work had a scan at 11 weeks and by 12 weeks she had lost the baby, so that’s at the back of my mind but then i just think back to the crazy active baby we saw a week ago who wouldn’t stay still 😂 got our next scan a week on Thursday when i will be 13+1, ive never wished weeks away more ha.

A WhatsApp group would be lovely, i don’t have Facebook and always miss out on useful bits so im happy for the WhatsApp when we set one up 🙂

MamaMenna · 12/10/2022 09:56

I'm waiting for a routine appointment, hoping for a scan / listen to the heartbeat for that reassurance. 11 weeks 1 day today.

MamaMenna · 12/10/2022 09:57

@LauraA31 I watched a couple of ep of pll a few weeks ago too, you've reminded me it was good, need to carry on watching!

LauraA31 · 12/10/2022 10:31

@MamaMenna good luck with your appointment! and yeah it surprised me with how good it actually is!

alwaysseeingstars · 12/10/2022 10:33

@LauraA31 I'm also struggling with headaches, the obstetrician reduced my migraine meds as they're classed as 'can be used in pregnancy if the benefit outweighs the risks' so not ideal, think I'm going to have to talk to her and see if there's anything else I can try as daily headaches are not fun! Day to yourself with the animals sounds bliss!!
@Skylark1990 my asthma has flared up more in pregnancy, apparently this can be very common so make sure you have your inhaler with you just in case 😊

DBS94 · 12/10/2022 10:46

@LauraA31 ahhh PLL has been on my To Watch list for a while I'm going get stuck in this week! X

ancienthouse · 12/10/2022 10:46

I got my screening results back and they are 1 in 9990 for downs and less than 1 in 10000 for the other two. That's the same as I got last time and I'm very happy with that so won't be getting the NIPT.

I've booked a gender scan (should be called fetal sex scan!!) instead so we can see baby before the long wait to the 20 week one.
I'm hoping we can get a really cute video like @AliceinSlumberland got! That's the nice thing about private scans vs NHS.

LauraA31 · 12/10/2022 10:59

@alwaysseeingstars headaches are horrible aren’t they, they really impact on day to day life! I don’t have a midwife assigned yet to chat to but once they give me one im going to ask her what i can do for them if they carry on. Hopefully you get some answers too! X

@DBS94 ooo you won’t regret it, im fully hooked! the boyfriend doesn’t ever like the same stuff i watch but he pretends not to enjoy it whilst playing on his phone, but then always tells me to watch the next episode when asking questions about all the characters 😂 x

Tubbytele · 12/10/2022 11:01

@LauraA31 absolutely loved PLL! We've been watching the new episodes of the walking dead.

Gilm0reGirl · 12/10/2022 11:27

I'm currently in bed with popcorn watch Bling Empire season 3, living my best life today! I've never seen pretty little liars so I'm
Saving it for those late nights/early mornings when the cluster feeding kicks in, I remember needing good tv series last time when I burned through all mine.

Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 11:38

Ooh you're all convincing me to give PLL a go, I did start watching it a few years ago but think I only watched two episodes.... So obviously I should persevere!

@ancienthouse great news on your results and v exciting about your *fetal sex scan 😂🥰 doesn't have the same ring to it does it? But yes much more accurate!

Some of my maternity purchases from h&m arrived and I'm v happy they're all comfy and fit well woop! Now just waiting for the Seraphine order... I also bought some new lipsticks 💄💋, I think I was feeling a little deprived and gross after all this sickness the last few weeks so decided to treat myself. DD and I have had a fun time this morning unpacking it all.

Might put paddington 2 on soon so I can actually get some chores done ...

Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 11:41

@Gilm0reGirl I got through so many good TV series when DD was a newborn with all the cluster feeding and cuddle naps! I have very fond memories 😂 some people find it hard being stuck on the couch all day but I think majority of time enjoyed it, just need a stack station, someone to bring meals, and a good book or show to watch. 🙌

OP posts:
ancienthouse · 12/10/2022 11:49

@Skylark1990 yeah I can see why they call it a gender scan 😂

I am actually really looking forward to the cluster feeding, contact napping days. I loved it all snuggled on the sofa watching TV series and eating food one handed!

Cuppasoupmonster · 12/10/2022 11:51

Great news about your screening @ancienthouse

I experimented with not taking my HG meds before bed last night - haven’t been sick in days so really hoped I had turned the corner as well as the meds working. They’re a strong sedative so they’ve been making me very drowsy all day and unable to get up with Dd 😢

Sadly it was disastrous and the sickness started again, I’m now in bed feeling really ill after a crap nights sleep so looks like I’m stuck on them for the foreseeable.

LauraA31 · 12/10/2022 12:04

I’m already googling for some good suggestions for next year, i know when my boyfriend goes back to work when baby is born im going to end up spending most of my day on the sofa watching TV🤦🏼‍♀️😂
Already thinking ahead and thinking in 6 months somebody will be letting me home with a baby ha!

@Tubbytele ive never watched walking dead, it’s on the list to watch ha!

@Skylark1990 going to have a ponder on H&M, my clothes are starting to get a bit tight now and im desperate for comfort!

Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 12:30

@LauraA31 newborn time is all about TV time haha so nothing to be ashamed of!

H&m definitely has some nice stuff. Hope your headache gets better!

OP posts:
Skylark1990 · 12/10/2022 12:31

@Cuppasoupmonster oh no, that's such a shame you got so sick! At least you know the meds work... Hope you feel better soon 😘

DBS94 · 12/10/2022 12:40

I'm having some serious aches and paint down below this week, especially in my groin! Almost burning like? My poor body is in shock I think 😂

Gilm0reGirl · 12/10/2022 12:40

My love leggings order just arrived, they are amazing! Thank you to everyone who recommended them, I'm glad I ordered a few now I will be living in them.

Missgemini · 12/10/2022 12:45

Hey ladies!

Finally had my 12 week scan this morning! All went well and did the bloods etc. Measuring 2 days ahead of my own calculations, so very happy. Due date 23rd April :)

I've added a picture from the scan. Any nub guesses @Cuppasoupmonster @Skylark1990 or any other nub experts!

Cuppasoupmonster · 12/10/2022 12:46

Wonderful @Missgemini its not very clear so a tentative guess but baby BOY 💙

AliceinSlumberland · 12/10/2022 12:56

@ancienthouse thats brilliant news about the screening tests and exciting about the gender scan! I have to save I’ve loved the private scan and the one last night that got that video was just so special, it was completely unplanned so I had no time to get anxious and it was out of hours so she really took her time and showed me so much, a very special experience. I did pay £450 for the NIPT like so not a total freebie 😂

@Missgemini gorgeous scan photo 💕

Well it finally happened, woke up at 5am STARVING. We don’t have much snacky food in so ended up eating strawberries lol, didn’t really do the job but took the edge off!

I’m so tired this week, can’t wake to get to tomorrow lunchtime as then I’m office based until the weekend!
