@Chocolat I spoke to him again last night and all sorts came out, the crux of it being that he feels that without him the house would fall apart. I can’t drive so a lot of tasks (nursery runs, food shops, taking DD to clubs, taking me to hospital appointments) falls to him. I never set out not to drive, I was on a very low wage and living in a big city until mid 20s so it wasn’t possible or necessary. Then pregnancy/covid etc and here we are, I did an intensive in July which went okay but wasn’t ready to do the test at the end. I still have my small flat from before meeting DH which I’m going to sell after Christmas so hoping I will have some cash to finish the lessons next summer. But I can only do what I can do and just need him to be patient for a bit longer. Sorry to vent!
Oh dear about the crisps 😂 the worst thing is when they say ‘stop being hormonal’ it makes you feel all stabby 😂 pregnancy emotions are something else!

@Pommy1 I'm in Buckinghamshire

Ah lovely! Nice part of the country! I’m from the northeast but have been living southeast for a long time although temporarily in the northwest and due to move southwest… so I could have caught you all for a cuppa! 🤣

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 09:15

P.s the NIPT also included a scan, again week 14 felt a little late. And also gender reveal which I’d have had to have waited until week 21, and I’m too excited. It was definitely a good investment for my individual situation and Scan dates. My view was I’ll buy a cheaper pram 🤣

If you get the Bounty app there’s pram bundle discounts on there all the time, will save you a few hundred quid!

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 10:28

I’m having a guess at nub angle and I think it’s one of the green lines. Both under 30degrees do you think…so a girl?!

@Skylark1990 what do you think 😍

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 10:29

Omg @Cuppasoupmonster that’s amazing information! I’ll take a looksee 🤗🖤

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 09:30

So we think DD has chicken pox 😩😩 I'm very nervous as not sure if I've had it. The GP is sending me for an immunity check today which I'm grateful for. I did actually pay for a test last year too and it said I'm immune but I'm not sure I trust it as my mum doesn't think I've had it.... Argh, the worry never ends. It can be very bad in pregnancy so just really hoping my body has the antibodies and fights it off!

@Skylark1990, ah so sorry to hear!! I haven't had chicken pox either, so I asked my midwife about it. She said the immunity check can tell as it is possible to have had it and not know. So yours is most probably accurate and you're hopefully immune!

Have a question for those past the 12 week milestone. Did you stop taking folic acid? I'm 13 weeks now and I think I'll stop taking it now. Feels weird as I'm so used to it (been on and off literally for years trying to conceive), but from the NHS website I think not necessary after 12 weeks?

ancienthouse · 11/10/2022 10:59

@Skylark1990 hopefully you already had it as a child but mildly! Poor DD, I hope she isn't too poorly. We got chickenpox out of the way a few months ago which saved me deliberating over getting the vaccine or not.

@SavedByGraceAlone I stopped taking folate at about 9 or 10 weeks when I couldn't get the tablets down. Apparently the neural tube closes around 7 weeks so I wasn't too worried, and I had been taking it while TTC.
In my first pregnancy I stopped taking it at 12 weeks because I read taking it longer can increase the risk of tongue tie but I'm not sure how much evidence there is for that. And if that's just folic acid or folate too. I took folate this time as excess folic acid has been linked to allergies and my DD had multiple food allergies.

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 11:21

Thanks @SavedByGraceAlone ❤️ hopefully the immunity I have is good!

Re folate/ folic acid, I am still taking my multivitamin which includes 400mcg folate (natural form of folic acid, better absorbed etc). With DD I stopped around 14 weeks but then got iron deficiency so went back to taking the prenatal supplements plus an iron supplement around 28 weeks. So figured I'd just continue to take the whole way through. It's good for breastfeeding as well to have good reserves of nutrients and to take a supplement while feeding. But you're right, you don't have to take it after the first trimester.

@Pommy1 haha well done on doing your own nubtechs design!! It does look girly but at 10 weeks (??) Unfortunately it's far to early to tell as the nub looks the same for boys and girls until 11 / 12 weeks, at which point it starts to rise if it's a boy 😏💙 when is your next scan? Xx

alwaysseeingstars · 11/10/2022 11:30

@SavedByGraceAlone I've been on prescription high strength folic acid since 8 weeks, both my midwife and obstetrician (I'm consultant led) have told me to stop that now I've had the scan but to keep taking the pregnancy vits that have the usual dose in - they said there is no harm in taking folic acid and even if baby doesn't need it, it's useful for our bodies anyway 😊

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 11:33

Also thank you @ancienthouse ❤️ that's great you got chicken pox out the way earlier on, I wish that had been the case for us! X

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 11:40

@Skylark1990 my next scan is my first nhs scan at 14 weeks. I thought it would be fun to have a guess on this scan as I should get my bloods back tomorrow approx and that will tell us the gender along with NIPT results :)

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 13:38

Ooooh exciting @Pommy1 !! Do you have a feeling either way?

OP posts:
Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 14:06

@Skylark1990 well, I’ve felt like it’s a boy the whole time, but as girls are mischievous it might be trying to trick us haha. Recently I’ve had a niggle thinking it could be a girl though, plus the scan looks girly. Fingers crossed the results come tomorrow, its been nearly two weeks!

How are you feeling? xx

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 14:17

I was taking pregnacare but it made my sickness worse, so I took it every day from about 2 months before conceiving, to 8 weeks pregnant - then it was more like every other day when I could stomach it, to 13 weeks. Now taking it daily again - well I say daily, when I remember! Probably most days. I’ll keep taking it throughout my pregnancy as there’s no harm in doing so and a general multivitamin is useful anyway.

LauraA31 · 11/10/2022 14:31

I read a view things about pregnacare making people feel sick, i use the seven seas. I use the pre conception ones whilst trying and then changed to the pregnancy ones for a few weeks but now i take the pregnancy ones with omega 3 and they’ve been great for me so far.
I was wondering if i could carry on taking them throughout pregnancy so im glad that we can! 😅

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 14:58

@Cuppasoupmonster I'm sorry things with DH have been a bit tough - hope you're both feeling better today? My OH also seems really tired atm... I'd love to be able to give him some kind of gift like the weekend off, but at the same time I really need his support 😅

OP posts:
Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 14:59

Can I ask - are majority of people on here also on FB thread? Who isn't?

also @Margo34 did you manage to get progesterone till 16 weeks? How are you doing?

OP posts:
LauraA31 · 11/10/2022 15:12

@Skylark1990 im not on the Facebook thread, i don’t have Facebook though 🙂

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 15:16

NIPT tests came back earlier then we thought…

99.2% VERY LOW RISK 🤗

I’ll be back with gender shortly. I just need to find my husband to open it. Legit want to kick him…where is he?! 🤣🤣

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 15:24

Eeeeek Pommy! Let us know 💖 💙

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 15:24

What was my guess for you again?

alwaysseeingstars · 11/10/2022 15:31

@Pommy1 fantastic news re the very low risk, hopefully that's taken a weight off your shoulders! How exciting that you have the gender 😁
@Skylark1990 I'm on the FB group, check it every few days or so!

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 16:10

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 15:24

What was my guess for you again?

I don’t think you did? I did some angles on my 10+5 scan:

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 16:11

Ohhhh sorry! 10 weeks is too early for nub theory but I’m going to say boy because I like to have a guess 😉 good luck!

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 16:15

@Cuppasoupmonster well, you were SO close. You get a runner up prize!
