@KennAdams I'm also exhausted, fine during the day most of the time now. But by night I'm lucky to make it past 8:30pm without falling asleep.

Cuppasoupmonster · 10/10/2022 20:36

Just booked pregnancy yoga 🧘‍♀️ anyone else planning on giving it a go? Also includes hypnobirthing type exercises.

limoncelloo · 10/10/2022 21:31

@Tropicana1 I used the same company and they said 85% chance of a girl, and they were correct :)

Chocolat · 10/10/2022 21:36

@Cuppasoupmonster sorry to hear about dh! They really are a weird species. And covid really has affected so many people. Might be worth speaking to him when he’s calm?
Me and DH had a full blown argument over me getting the wrong crisps as he would have ‘preferred’ some others. I offered to get the others he wanted and he declined but continued to get moody about it 🤦🏽‍♀️.

Tubbytele · 10/10/2022 21:49

@Margo34 ahh that's awesome you're a teacher too! I hope I'm able to work all the way to end of the spring term. Last time was during covid so most of pregnancy was spent teaching online. I gave birth at the end of Sept 2020 so was able to take mat leave as soon as the new term started in sept so this time will be different.

MamaMenna · 11/10/2022 02:18

Anyone else hungry when awake during the night? Tempted to go get a snack! Insomnia is bad enough without being hungry...

Hannah223344 · 11/10/2022 06:41

@MamaMenna yes!! It's been driving me crazy! I've been taking emergency snacks to bed each night 😅

DBS94 · 11/10/2022 07:35

When my morning sickness was at its worst I would have a sandwich bag filled with biscuits next to my bed. My husband would wake up at 4am to munching noises 😂

Margo34 · 11/10/2022 08:13

@Tubbytele ahhhh me too on 2020 pregnancy and mat leave! I was on a one year contract that ended that August at the time so I had to take mat leave immediately at the start of the academic year as my contract ended. Worked out nicely, I ended up 6w off for summer then baby didn't arrive til a few days into Oct! That was following WFH from 12w too. My school didn't do online lessons so I had to just plan some stuff and email it out and keep in contact with families. I spent the entire time wearing my dressing gown and DHs T-shirts so had no real need for any mat clothes so need to get a pregnancy work wardrobe sorted asap!

xalexandra · 11/10/2022 08:25

@DBS94 I do this at the moment 😂 I bring up biscuits so as soon as my eyes open in the morning, I eat a couple of biscuits with my anti sickness tablets in hope that the sickness stays at bay! I've gotta be quick though!

@Skylark1990 absolutely that's 100% why I ended up with a c section my body was just totally not ready for things at all!

@limoncelloo so I paid £8 for an online nub analysis yesterday 🤣 and it's come back as a boy with 90% confidence! Bet it ends up being a girl now 🤣 haha here's what they said if anyones interested to learn more nub theory

Ive just tried to apply this method to my 10+5 wk scan and I can’t tell at all!

Any guesses? We should find out this week from bloods coming back :)

alwaysseeingstars · 11/10/2022 09:05

Sorry if I sound dim but what's the benefit of the private NIPT testing against what they provide at the 12 week scan? I had the scan and was given the NT measurement, they also did bloods etc and gave probability readings based on all aspects for the 3 syndromes. Just wondering what extra people get from the NIPT? 😊

Ah that sounds ace. I can’t find a yoga class so looked on YouTube.

What region Are you guys? I’m wondering if any of us are close by xx

Hannah223344 · 11/10/2022 09:10

@alwaysseeingstars I'm intrigued too! I went to my 12 week scan yesterday and was going to pay for NIPT, but the nurses said stick with the combined NHS test for the time being ..... I think the NIPT is a higher accuracy, but then there is the cost attached to it so I feel very conflicted 😅

Hi @alwaysseeingstars my initial chromosome test with the nhs was scheduled for week 14. If that test comes back with a high probability (it’s only 80% accurate), you are then sent for a more accurate blood test. That could take you into week 16-17 potentially to address matters if needs be.

For me in my 40s, I didn’t want to wait, the 20% inaccuracy would have been enough for me at the age I am to instruct a private clinic should the nhs result return as low anyway. So I’d end up going private in any case, just later on.

As we always say in here, every person and pregnancy is different, this is just my area of focus as my risk already starts that but higher because I’m in the “geriatric mother” category. I really think they should change that term 🤣

Pommy1 · 11/10/2022 09:15

P.s the NIPT also included a scan, again week 14 felt a little late. And also gender reveal which I’d have had to have waited until week 21, and I’m too excited. It was definitely a good investment for my individual situation and Scan dates. My view was I’ll buy a cheaper pram 🤣

ancienthouse · 11/10/2022 09:15

@alwaysseeingstars the NIPT is more accurate and gives you a more definitive answer, without being diagnostic. I think if NIPT comes back low risk, it's 99.9% accurate. It's becoming standard in the US so I think it will be here too once tbe cost comes down.
It also tells you the fetal sex as an added bonus.

PuddingBear · 11/10/2022 09:18

Scan day today! Excited but nervous and have to wait until this afternoon 😅

alwaysseeingstars · 11/10/2022 09:24

@Hannah223344 @Pommy1 @ancienthouse thanks all for the information!
@PuddingBear good luck today!

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 09:30

So we think DD has chicken pox 😩😩 I'm very nervous as not sure if I've had it. The GP is sending me for an immunity check today which I'm grateful for. I did actually pay for a test last year too and it said I'm immune but I'm not sure I trust it as my mum doesn't think I've had it.... Argh, the worry never ends. It can be very bad in pregnancy so just really hoping my body has the antibodies and fights it off!

Cuppasoupmonster · 11/10/2022 09:34

@Skylark1990 dont panic. The immunity test you took is likely to be correct. Can you have the vaccine anyway? First covid and now this, hopefully your luck will change 💐

As a side note we got DD vaccinated against chickenpox privately at Boots as she had so many nursery bugs we were convinced 2 weeks off for chicken pox would mean being sacked 😱 if she doesn’t have it, it might be worth she or you gets vaccinated anyway - it isn’t cheap but peace of mind and all that xx

alwaysseeingstars · 11/10/2022 09:35

@Skylark1990 sorry to hear about DD, poor girl! There is a chance you caught it when young but had few or no symptoms, so fingers crossed the check comes back again as immune 😊

What’s she said 🤣🤣🤣🤌🏼🤌🏼

Skylark1990 · 11/10/2022 10:22

Thanks @Cuppasoupmonster and @alwaysseeingstars 💖

Hopefully all is fine 🤞 DD seems totally fine although a bit itchy. I am pretty sure it's chicken pox but the pharmacist who we saw just this morning said she's not sure as it doesn't look totally typical, it started on her legs not chest / face and because she doesn't have a fever etc she's not sure. But I know of other little ones who had it mildly.
