Holy moly my bump is enormous 🤯 14 weeks today and I think I’m showing the same as I was at 20+ weeks with DD. Anyone else?!

Emeal123 · 07/10/2022 21:01

@Cuppasoupmonster me too!! I’m 13+3 today and have a full on bump there is absolutely no hiding it, with my son I didn’t show at all yet! It definitely gets bigger during the day too xx

PuddingBear · 07/10/2022 21:05

@Cuppasoupmonster I’m the same! I’m 12 weeks and showing the same I was at 16/17 weeks last time!

AliceinSlumberland · 07/10/2022 21:37

Thank you so so much for the reassurance @Springblooms08 , @Cuppasoupmonster and @Gxw0232 , going to try and be positive about it and like you say it’s totally normal to have reduced symptoms now I think. Just wish we could opt out of the worry in pregnancy!!

No bump at all for me at 12 weeks but think that’s to be expected with baby one!!

Releasethehoundss · 07/10/2022 21:55

@AliceinSlumberland I don't have much to add but I do hope you have a positive result and your baby is born warm and squishy and healthy ❤ thinking of you.

Springblooms08 · 07/10/2022 21:58

@AliceinSlumberland 1000% normal not to have symptoms at this point, or at any point in fact. I’ve been surprised by the lack of physical symptoms that I’ve had too! I think we’re so programmed to expect to be as sick as a dog but it’s not the case for quite a lot of women in fact.

Cuppasoupmonster · 07/10/2022 22:02

Good to know it isn’t just me! I look very clearly pregnant at this point - it’s bump shaped (starts higher up if you know what i mean?) rather than bloat shaped. I could only really hide it in a coat or long baggy jumper but in anything fitted I’m sure everyone would notice.

ancienthouse · 07/10/2022 22:32

I've all of a sudden got a bump this evening but I think it's cos I ate too much dinner and the baby is squishing my stomach out! It'll probably disappear in the morning!

I didn't really show with my first until around 20 weeks, maybe a bit after? I was a size 14 and worried people would just think I was fatter but I had a lovely neat bump when it appeared.

Gilm0reGirl · 07/10/2022 22:56

I am definitely feeling fatter. I have an hour glass shape but have lost a lot of waist and appear to have all the sand in the middle, I'm feeling very unsure how to dress myself until my bump comes in, it's making me feel pretty rubbish.

I am also experiencing so much pain along my c section scar when I sneeze, I just sneezed and literally shouted so loud my husband came running upstairs thinking I'd really hurt myself. Not sure how normal this is to have that already. Oh the joys of pregnancy worries!

Badassbreastfeeder85 · 07/10/2022 23:32

I am so bloated my belly is massive,I think because I'm eating so many carbs and haven't been to the gym in about 6 weeks ,feeling a bit down about it tbh
those of you with older children,how/when will you tell them? My son is ten and I'm not sure when or how to tell him

Releasethehoundss · 08/10/2022 01:28

@Gilm0reGirl I'm not a Dr (but I have had 4 csections and have adhesive scarring inside) sometimes scar tissue can adhere to your abdominal wall/scar on the inside and it causes pulling and stretching.. It can be painful. And sometimes it's just good ole round ligament pain.. I know you're not a FTM but sometimes we forget about the ligament pain and that pain can be brutal. Feels like someone is stabbing you.

Just catching up on yesterdays chat, loving all these scan pictures ladies!! ✨

Bit of a random one but has anyone had cramping inside their vagina? I woke up in the middle of the night last night with a few seconds of cramping. Very strange! Not sure if it's just pressure or if I need to speak to midwife about it x

@DBS94 I've had all sorts of cramping and I think in that area too. I always put it down to 'lots going on' down there! Maybe mention to the midwife anyway, just for your own peace of mind! X

Skylark1990 · 08/10/2022 07:45

Hey everyone, just been catching up!
@AliceinSlumberland as others have said, try not to worry about lack of symptoms. While I think the majority of women do get some sickness/ nausea there are definitely some who don't and it's not an insignificant minority. Can't remember exact figures but I'm sure it's something like 80/20 percent. Also, if you do feel sick, the time it takes to pass will vary wildly from person to person. Some are sick all pregnancy (😩😩😩) and some only have it for a couple weeks in first tri! My DH told me helpfully that around 14 weeks is when it starts to lift for most people and this is why I'm starting to feel better 😂 good fact. When's your scan? Also at 10 weeks if a healthy baby seen, chance of carrying to term is something like 99.2 percent or something? Tommy's has the info... So you should definitely be reassured by your last scan! Gosh sorry this has turned into an essay.

I definitely have a bump too, I looked back at photos and it's about the same as the one I had with DD at 21 weeks. It's even there in the morning so I know it's not just food 😅🥝 🍞 🍫

@DBS94 I've had cramping in vagina too, I think it's very normal!

My vomiting has ramped up weeks 12-14 and I’ve lost weight so very little bump here, despite it being baby 3. In fact my bloating earlier on was more obvious.

Gilm0reGirl · 08/10/2022 08:01

@Releasethehoundss ah thank You! I winced infront of the midwife when I sneezed and looked rather concerned and it put me on edge ever since as I desperately want a VBAC, so anything untoward pushes me back into the planned section category. I've done a little reading about it and you're right it's very common for the scar to hurt wary on, I had a drain and the side it was stitched into had more scar tissue and that's the side causing the pain when I sneeze. Going to have a look at scar mobilisation to see if it helps. X

AliceinSlumberland · 08/10/2022 08:47

@Skylark1990 and @Releasethehoundss thank you both for your lovely reassuring words. My scan is on Monday afternoon. I say I have no symptoms but then every night I’m up 5-6 times to go for a wee!!

@Lapin387 really hope your sickness eases soon :(

I’d love to see all your bumps, we need a thread on tbe fb page!

ancienthouse · 08/10/2022 08:53

@Gilm0reGirl my scar has been hurting sometimes too, mostly when I twist or get up suddenly. My midwife said it's normal for it to hurt when you move, but if it hurts without any movement then I should call them.

I'm going to do lots of scar massage once my bump gets bigger to try to help it! I did it once it healed postpartum, I used vitamin e oil, and I think that really helped. But now everything's shifting and stretching again it needs some more help.

I'm also desperate for a VBAC so I know what you mean about it being worrying!

tattlytote · 08/10/2022 09:10

Bump also huge here, really popped this last few days at 13+2 😱 not ideal when I'm hoping to now keep under wraps until NIPT results in 2 weeks!

Skylark1990 · 08/10/2022 09:13

Just seen there is a 50% sale at Seraphine (pregnancy and nursing clothing shop online) - they do really nice stuff if anyone wants to treat themselves!

ooh thank you! I've been after some of their leggings. I try to buy maternity stuff secondhand but something about secondhand leggings seems a bit icky to me!

DBS94 · 08/10/2022 10:01

Thanks everyone! It's crazy how much by body is changing I feel like it's something new every day 😂

@Lapin387 so sorry to hear you're feeling rotten. It really does take it out of you!! Feet up on the sofa if you can and get stuck in to a good series on Netflix 💕

Skylark1990 · 08/10/2022 10:26

@ancienthouse just dropped a bit of a bomb on a few dresses 🙈 , some dungarees and some leggings but hoping it sees me through the winter and having to go into the office! Now I should be good for maternity clothes except potentially I'll need to buy some more tights and a coat if the bump gets massive... Will look for a coat second hand though!
