@Lid88 @OttilieKnackered I don't think I can see a nub on either of your scans.

@xalexandra I'd say that's a very obvious boy nub!!

Hi Lisa

I’ve been put forward a full week, as has Skylark, and was put forward by 5 days in my last pregnancy. It’s really nothing to worry about, it’s more of a worry to measure significantly behind.

I don’t think it means the baby is big, they calculate the GA based on things like limb length compared to the body and stage of development I believe. My baby who was put forward 5 days was a 50th centile baby. I’ve never worried about it!

Ahh lovely, ok thank you. That has made me feel much better :)

ancienthouse · 07/10/2022 14:38

@Lisa221987 I was put 5 days behind at a 7 week scan, spot on at my 9 weeks scan, and now measuring 4 days ahead after 12/13 week scan! The margin of error is around 7 days I think so it's never an exact science.
I don't like measuring ahead as I know my dates, and it means they'll think I'm 42 weeks when I'm not. But hopefully it won't get to that point!

Emeal123 · 07/10/2022 14:41

Hi @Lisa221987 my dates changed around a little bit but the midwife and sonographer said anything within a week is nothing to worry about. My baby was so wriggly in the 12 week scan I’m surprised they managed to get an accurate measurement! Xx

alwaysseeingstars · 07/10/2022 14:48

@Lisa221987 my dates were moved to put me 5 days ahead of where I thought I was at my scan on Tues, nothing to be worried about with some movement in either direction 😊@Emeal123 same, I really felt for the poor sonographer as she struggled with the scans as baby was so wriggly!!

I've just had the more detailed results back after being told the NT measurement was 1.6, I wasn't worried but it's always nice seeing the low risk bit on paper! Taking into account the scan, my age and my blood results there's a 1 in 5000 chance 😊

How's everybody feeling? x

Lisa221987 · 07/10/2022 14:55

Thanks for all the replys its definitely put my mind at ease now!

Gilm0reGirl · 07/10/2022 15:08

All done! Won’t lie it brought a tear to both our eyes to see little one wiggling around, looking like a baby instead of a little bean like previous scans. 12 weeks on the dot so I’ve been brought forward a day. I don’t think you can see the nub but any guesses from the pros welcome! I love nub theory guesses

Awww Gilmore! It’s a boy guess from me 💙

xalexandra · 07/10/2022 15:52

@Gilm0reGirl Awww! 😍 literally exactly the same as me!

Gilm0reGirl · 07/10/2022 15:55

Aw thank you @Cuppasoupmonster and @xalexandra! I've been getting boy vibes from the start 💙 the question is can I be patient enough to wait until the baby arrives to know...we shall see!

Cuppasoupmonster · 07/10/2022 16:04

Oh, and after a chat with the obstetrician on Tuesday, there’s no reason why I can’t have a water birth if non-drip methods are enough to induce labour 🚿 will be using all the wives tale methods in the book to get labour ready for 37 weeks 😬 here’s hoping! Was anyone else asked about their birth plan at the scan or just me being high risk?

Skylark1990 · 07/10/2022 16:28

@Lisa221987 just to echo what others have said, completely normal for dates to jump a bit! The sonographer at our scan yesterday said babies often have little growth spurts even early on but especially once they are 12 weeks. I was put Forward too, and also with my DDs Pregnancy. It's worth remembering that the date they give you is just a guess really - it's pretty meaningless aside from giving us a guiding star 🌟 towards when approximately the birth will be (ofc unless you are planning an induction or c section). Ultimately the due period is anything from 37-42 weeks and there is even variation outside of that ☺️

@Cuppasoupmonster that's great news on the water birth! Also wanted to say, in reply to one of your posts a while back, I don't think long labours themselves necessarily have the risk of causing baby distress. The drip and other intervention/ induction methods can do though (I'm assuming this also applies to the pessary and ARM but not sure. I know some women have the pessary then go back home to attempt home birth!), so I think this is especially why they like to speed along induction (although ironically induction often takes ages!). One to chat to with the consultant/ midwives about as while I do know a bit about birth options etc due to some training I've had, I'm not a medical expert, but just wanted to provide a little bit of reassurance that you may be able to hold off on the drip for longer if you wish, to try to let labour take hold and secure your water birth 🌊ofc it may just happen quickly anyway 🤞🤞🙌🙌

I'm keen for a water birth / labour too. Currently hoping to use the pool / water in active labour then come out to push so I can have someone supporting my perineum, due to a bad tear last time. The joys! But we will see 🙈☺️🤞💙🌊

Lovely thank you. So reassuring to hear you lovely ladies have experienced this. My last pregnancy was nearly 9 years ago! Ive forgot everything!

ballerina90 · 07/10/2022 16:54

Hi lovely friends! Just had a question/concern - I've just started having some pain down near my bladder. Worried it might be a UTI about to develop, eek. GP's phone line is down for the day and I am going out of town tomorrow for a wedding until Tuesday. Terrible timing if there is a health issue I need sorted. What would you all recommend doing? Wait it out til Tuesday when I'm back to go to the GP and then do a urine test? Or is there a way I could get it checked sooner even if I'm in another town in the UK? (I'm quite new to England - I've only been here about a year so still figuring out the ropes of it all. Sorry if it's a silly question!)

MilkAndFenty · 07/10/2022 16:59

@ballerina90 i think with UTIs a lot of pharmacies are doing a self referral now so they can give you antibiotics just in case. Call your pharmacy and speak to them :)

nks28041 · 07/10/2022 17:03

@Cuppasoupmonster @bluebubbles12 @ancienthouse thank for you guesses :)

ballerina90 · 07/10/2022 17:07

@MilkAndFenty Oh really? That would be fantastic! I'll give them a ring in the morning and check. Thanks so much for the tip! x

Springblooms08 · 07/10/2022 17:15

@ballerina90 boots do a uti test and treat service which might be useful: www.boots.com/health-pharmacy-advice/womens-health-service/cystitis-test-and-treat-service

Hello! Been following for a while but haven’t posted before. Had my dating scan today and it’s put me 9 days ahead of what I’d thought based in lmp. Has anyone else’s dating scan moved them this far ahead?? Also, wondered if anyone had any guesses on gender from the scan! Thanks!

@Springblooms08 Oh my goodness, what would I do without this group? That's perfect! I can swing by Boots tonight and grab a test. Thanks a million! 💗

Springblooms08 · 07/10/2022 17:39

@ballerina90 hope you get it all sorted and have a lovely time away!

AliceinSlumberland · 07/10/2022 19:02

Hi all, I’m absolutely loving all these scans 💕💕

Just wanted to ask, those of you who have already had it, did any of you just not feel pregnant before you went? I feel like I just feel totally normal and myself other than a bit of tiredness and I’m worried it’s a bad sign. My boobs don’t hurt at all anymore and my body hasn’t changed at all (normal for a FTM I think?). I’m just worried I’m going to get bad news and I have a bad feeling but I think(hope) it’s just anxiety causing that. Everything looked great when we had a scan a couple of weeks ago at 10 weeks so no reason to feel like things have gone wrong but I can’t help but worry.

Gxw0232 · 07/10/2022 19:05

@AliceinSlumberland i was exactly the same as you! No symptoms at all and was worried it must be a bad sign but everything was fine, easier said than done but try not to worry :)

Releasethehoundss · 07/10/2022 19:06

@limoncelloo I think your idea for a thread is a great idea... I'm busy with remodeling (putting more floors in🙄) this weekend, so if I miss the thread if someone could be so kind as to add my little baby to the list.
