And so we continue...

OP posts:
splishsplosh · 05/03/2008 11:44

Just popped in to say my scan was fine this morning, and it actually looked like a baby this time, 3 weeks ago it was a fuzzy blob, it's so amazing.
Sadly they didn't give me a pic or bother doing any measurements, but at least it's ok and the crampiness has settled down a lot

KashaSarrasin · 05/03/2008 12:04

oinker that's amazing news! Fingers crossed that your little bean keeps hanging on in there.

splishsplosh glad to hear the scan went OK - it's great to see them developing from blobs into babies isn't it!

Went to the doc's yesterday about my cough as it's just been getting worse - I have a chest infection and have been prescribed amoxicillin . Hopefully the ab's will sort it out though. DS has an ear infection too so we are both ill together and DH is being a star looking after us both I've had a tiny bit of brown discharge as well but the doc said not to worry, just keep an eye on it, it's probably just some old blood dislodged by all the coughing. Of course I am worrying all the same, but the bump seems to be bigger daily so I'm managing (just) to persuade myself everything's OK.

ronshar · 05/03/2008 12:23

Oinker, I am amazed daily by our bodies ability to surprise us. I am sending lots of positive thoughts in your direction.

Splish, brilliant news for you. A real baby who you have met and said your first hellos to.
Kasha be careful with all tha coughing you will need to work on your pelvic floor. It will be other stuff coming out.

Winky love, only a few weeks left. I cant believe it. In some ways it feels like only yesterday when you got your BFP but in other ways it feels like such a looooonnnnggggg time ago.

ronshar · 05/03/2008 13:08

I have just had my midwife booking in letter. Which is good but it is on exactly the same day as my scan last year which showed no baby. Now I am torn between being really scared that history will repeat itself and telling myself it is a good omen as it is a new year, new baby etc.
Bugger!
I was just getting to the point where I was relaxed about this baby. Now I am counting down days to next week. I didnt want to mark this aniversary. I said my goodbyes to my baby when I reached the due date last year now I feel like it is all coming back again.
I dont want it to come back. That black hole is somewhere I DONT EVER WANT TO VISIT AGAIN. Sorry not shouting.
I am eating ginger biscuits to try & cheer me up with my decaff tea. Rubbish.

Pinkali37 · 05/03/2008 14:20

Ronshar how far are you?

Splish, how far are you? How long did the cramps last?

I've got a high crampy feeling now. Above my stomach button but still a bit like a period pain..

coolkat · 05/03/2008 14:42

Hi Ladies

Well still on permanent Knicker check here I went to the doctors yesterday and she apologised for the confused response that she gave me about my bloods. My level last week was 255 and was within the range for early pregnancy. She still will not do a blood test to show improvement in level but she says unless something happens everything should be fine. She is ot referring me to EPU but straight to the maternity unit here where they do a dating scan at 8 weeks (8 days to go). So just waiting.

oinker · 05/03/2008 18:50

Brown discharge back....lots of it....
Some fresh blood too
It's happening again....I just know it is

splishsplosh · 05/03/2008 18:52

Ronshar, can't you change the booking in date?

Pinkali, the crampiness has gone back to being every now and again, but it was continuous from Friday evening til Monday sometime - not awful pain, but strong enough to be constantly aware of it. Mine was quite low down I think. Hope you're ok.

I have my dating scan next Thursday, much earlier than I thought it would be, so I only have a week to wait. Now I can worry about the nuchal test as well. They do a combined test now, so you have to wait for the results

splishsplosh · 05/03/2008 18:53

[sad} sorry Oinker. Fingers crossed

oinker · 05/03/2008 19:41

BS to all of this........

Fed up with things going wrong all the time

coolkat · 05/03/2008 19:42

Oinker, So sorry to hear this. I hope it will be ok. X

lackaDAISYcal · 05/03/2008 19:47

shit oinker . hold tight lovely, and try to keep positive. I know my history isn't that bad, but I had quite a bit of spotting early on in my pg with DD and felt that it was all over again, but the scan showed a heartbeat, and there are loads of similar stories on here.

sending all the positive vibes I can in yoour direction {{{{{hhugs}}}}}

EllieG · 05/03/2008 21:19

oinker, so sorry sweetheart. Am keeping all things crossed that this is just another blip and your beanie is holding on tight. Rest up this evening as much as you can xxx

Good news about scan splishsplosh x

rainrain · 06/03/2008 10:56

Lcy · 06/03/2008 11:28

Thinking of you oinker x

TJuice · 06/03/2008 11:41

oinker - really hope its not what you think. fingers and everything crossed for you.

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 11:50

morning

oinker, how are you today lovely?

When do symptoms kick in again? (you'd think I'd remember!) I'm 5 weeks today and apart from a bit of mild nausea, and nipples a bit tender when DD feeds, nada. I'm thinking of booking in for a private scan, but don't want to do it too soon as that might cause unneccesary worry. My waistline seems to have ballooned already though, and I've had to go down a notch on my belt already. I'm still two stone overweight from before I had DD; I'll be as wide as I'm tall before this one is out.

EllieG · 06/03/2008 12:52

I think you sound quite symptom-ish to me! You might not get any more than that, I didn't.

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 14:11

I'm sure i read somewhere that BFing helps keep symptoms at bay. I was thinking of weanin DD off the breast, but I may keep going till she is a year which will be about 18 weeks for me.

Pinkali37 · 06/03/2008 18:27

LackaDaisycal - HI - I saw my consultant yesterday and he said most symptoms don't kick in until 6 weeks and even then it didn't mean anything not to get all of them or none (obv other than missed period). I'm 4+1 and this is my first so am new to all this.

Splish - thank you for your help. I think i have constipation and that is causing some of my strange pains. I don;t feel preg at all BUT saw GP this morning and he worried me all day by asking me to take another prg test. So of course before then I had to fit in hair appt and TESCO then rushed home to do test thinking SH*T but alas the positive test is sitting next to me clearing stating POSITIVE. I just pray all stays well.

OINKER - I really am praying for you that all is well. x x x x x My heart sank as it took me to last year and many ladies on here will be able to sympathise with you and support you as best we can.

xxx

bethoo · 06/03/2008 18:29

lackaDAISY - where did you hear that bf can reduce symptoms of pregnancy? i did not know that, so that is reassuring as i was pretty symptomless at the beginning, but i am now 9 weeks and feel like shit most days!!! i dread to think how i would feel if i was not bf!!!

lackaDAISYcal · 06/03/2008 18:30

I think it was on Kellymom. i was looking for info on Bfing in PG, and on tandem feeding. I'll see if I can find it again.

splishsplosh · 06/03/2008 19:24

I find it hard to imagine ever weaning dd, she is a boobaholic

pinkali - forgot to say that some cramping pain is totally normal. When pg with dd, i was certain for a week that my period was late but arriving any minute cos felt so period-y, Try prunes for the constipation

bethoo · 06/03/2008 20:23

splishsplosh - i find that bf is quite uncomfortable now that i am pg, do you?

splishsplosh · 06/03/2008 21:05

Bethoo - yes, when she latches on it's quite painful, but then OK. But apart from only fancying junk food, feeling a bit queasy sometimes and throwing up twice, I don't have many symptoms, so I'm a bit comforted by the pain, iykwim. What are you planning to do? Keep going? Wean?
