My OH works away during the week and then ‘doesn’t want to spend his time off cleaning’ when he is only here for the weekend and has to cram in spending time with people as well as some form of quality time with DS and I. I work full time and was getting resentful that he wasn’t helping more when he could see it was really bothering me and I also don’t want to spend my weekend cleaning. It was a constant stress/bicker every weekend and this week we forked out to pay for a cleaner to come as a one off and do a 3 hour deep clean of the house. Was worth it and took the pressure off us both plus house is so clean and smells AMAZING - just sad we can’t have her every week! Xx

ps the pregnancy insomnia is so real and I am also having really weird dreams! Last night I dreamt we lived in a guitar shaped house? What’s with the strange dreams xx

Gilm0reGirl · 22/09/2022 07:20

Congratulations to all the lovely scans and test results! I'm sorry some of us are having a hard time with sickness, a few friends of mine had had really bad nausea right the way up to being hospitalised with HG and it sounds so hard, just know you're doing amazingly and try not to worry (easier said then done I know)

We arrived in crete late last night and I don't know what's happened in the last 48hrs but I suddenly have a bump, a jumpsuit I wore on Tuesday that was loose is now rather tight and shows off my protruding stomach 😆 trouble is I don't look quite pregnant enough I just look like I've been at the all inclusive too much.

DBS94 · 22/09/2022 07:39

I feel like we are all just experiencing the same emotions and situations at the moment it's so nice to have support and not feel alone 😂

@Gilm0reGirl jealous of your holiday! How are you hoping with the heat?

I've got another scan this evening, should be about 11 weeks - feeling excited but also a bit nervous!! Wish it was earlier

Hannah223344 · 22/09/2022 07:50

So lovely seeing some of the 12 week scans starting to happen, congratulations!! 💙💕

I'm with you the majority of you on the insomnia & feelings of guilt of not being able to do much around the house .... roll on 12 weeks, although only 9w3d so it feels like a lifetime away!!

Gilm0reGirl · 22/09/2022 08:41

@DBS94 it's ok at the moment, today is a mild day, it's meant to hit highs of 31 though in a few days so I'll see then as I don't really want to look more swollen 😆

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 09:25

Thanks so much all for your words of support - does sound many of us are in a similar boat and it helps to have people to chat to about it all <3 I think we just need to remember it's survival mode and that's it for now... just get through these tough weeks, and it'll all pass. But it's so hard when the days drag and spirits are low.

@DBS94 I am 11+3 based on my scan at 8 weeks, so just a couple days ahead of you! I have definitely also found that once I hit 11 weeks it's been slightly less bad in the mornings, which I am grateful for, but the evenings and afternoons are still really hard. I was sick till 16 weeks with my daughter - hoping it doesn't last that long this time!

@AliceinSlumberland sorry to hear you have been unwell! Hope you're feeling better now?

@Gilm0reGirl enjoy your holiday! How many weeks are you? I also have a little bump now, we are going to Spain and I'm going to have to take my maternity swimsuit 😅I'm already about the size I was when 16 weeks with DD. I can sort of suck it in and like you, just looks like I've put on a bit of weight, but I think it's definitely my uterus.

@Emeal123 we actually do have a cleaner who comes once a week and is a godsend - we are lucky that we can do this. When I went back to work after mat leave we decided it was worth it for us, not to have to do the bathrooms and hoovering etc on weekends. But she's been ill, so haven't had her for 2 weeks, and I think this is also making everything feel worse as mess etc also makes me feel sick haha.

@Wouldloveanother I've been having crazy dreams too. Often they're kind of sexy dreams ?! which is weird because I am not feeling that way inclined at all in my waking life, will all this nausea 😅

Big congrats on the positive scans everyone! I kinda wish I'd booked a private one for this week now, but I didn't get in in time and now they're all booked up... there might be some super expensive ones like £80 still left but I don't think I want to pay that much! Only 2 weeks till my NHS scan so just looking forward to that.

KennAdams · 22/09/2022 09:28

@Gilm0reGirl have a lovely holiday! Very jealous 😀

@Skylark1990 I'm thinking of doing the same my NHS one is in 2 weeks as well but I'm so tempted try get another in before hand. They're £45 here which isn't too bad but still a bit of money when it's a want more than a need. 🙈

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 09:29

@KennAdams if it was £45 I think i'd do it! I almost got one last week for £45 but DH couldnt come due to a meeting so I didn't go for it, and now all those cheaper ones are booked up. Sigh.

Wouldloveanother · 22/09/2022 09:50

@Longbin did your DH get back from the pub? I’m dying to know! 💙 💖

DBS94 · 22/09/2022 10:10

Our private scans are £70 and tonight will be my second one but I'm not going to pay for another until the gender (scotland no longer give gender through NHS not sure if this is the same in England?)

X

Longbin · 22/09/2022 10:19

@Wouldloveanother when he came back and I was fast asleep, this morning we were rushing to get DD ready and then he had to go back to the office again (in a 2 day workshop thing) so I still haven't found out, and he's out tonight!! I have to wait until tomorrow 😭😭😭

Tubbytele · 22/09/2022 10:23

@Wouldloveanother another one here with the vivid dreams.

@MamaMenna I'm exactly like you about the tiredness in the evenings. I easily fall asleep with my 2 year old toddler as we co-sleep even though I try to stay awake just so I can try to get some things done after he sleeps.

@Heath2330 did you hear back about your iron?

Really lovely to see all the scan pics. I hope those with sickness are having a better morning but if you're not, I really hope you can manage to get some rest.

I have had a very peculiar thing happened. Sorry for the tmi but I hope it's ok to share this here but yday I noticed my labia had swollen. Never had this at all with my first pregnancy. This morning it had a small bleed, which I could tell was from the swelling and not from internal. Called EPAU which said I can come in but wait was around 6 hours. The swelling has gone down slightly and no more bleeding but has anyone experienced this before or know about it?

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 10:53

There is a scan avail for £70 at 14:50 today near me! Ahhh should I do it? My DH is in London today so won't be able to join but I'm so tempted.

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 10:54

@Tubbytele is your labia also sore or itchy? Could it be thrush? I would just keep an eye on it, especially as it bled - but sounds like it's not to do with baby, but could be a pregnancy symptom... I have heard of swollen labia happening to some women!

Tubbytele · 22/09/2022 11:03

@Skylark1990 thank you. It's not itchy and no other symptoms except swollen and the slight bleed. It was only sore yesterday when I was sitting up which is when I noticed something wasn't right but other than that no soreness. Will definitely keep an eye on it and if it bleeds again then will give a call to GP. Thanks for your reply.

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 11:29

Ok I booked the scan so now I'm completely terrified haha - I really hope I see a wriggly 11 week old fetus in there!

DBS94 · 22/09/2022 11:33

@Skylark1990 yaaaay!! Good decision, I would have booked too - not long to wait!

@Tubbytele this sounds similar to what happened to me after my DH and I had sex, I feel like it's just so swollen and irritated down there and I bled lightly too! X

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 12:26

@DBS94 thank you, I'm very nervous! Is yours today too?

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 12:30

@DBS94 NHS scans in England will usually give the sex at the 20 week one (to note it's the biological sex given, not the 'gender' as this can of course be interpreted as more fluid these days, however the biological sex is a biological reality.)

That's interesting Scotland doesn't give the sex at all though! Some in England don't give it, particularly in areas where these is high sex-based abortion rates (e.g. families aborting girls 😓) and majority won't write it down, as it's never 100% certain they will get it right, so they prefer to just say it.

Wisher88 · 22/09/2022 12:40

Just over 9wks and I'm still wanting all the citrus and fruit in sight. I've gone off meat apart from plain ham sandwiches 😂. I've read quite a few places that these symptoms are often associated with having a girl??
Although I think wanting citrus is pretty common anyway?
What's everyone else craved and do you know your baby's sex yet?

Longbin · 22/09/2022 12:55

@Wisher88 I haven't really had any cravings at all! I eat way more chocolate now and sometimes I fancy fried chicken.

Tubbytele · 22/09/2022 13:15

@DBS94 thanks for sharing, has it gone better for you now? Today is much better than yday and there's been no more bleeding.

@Longbin I've been eating more chocolate than normal too!

Skylark1990 · 22/09/2022 13:21

@Wisher88 my cravings are all over the place - generally I just have aversions and only specific foods can be tolerated, rather than cravings although I have at times hankered after a chocolate croissant, 7up or Fanta, citrus fruit, watermelon, mcdonalds... so it's not a sweet or savoury thing for me. It seems to be both although I'm definitely not as keen on chocolate as I usually am!
I have a feeling this one is a girl, as sickness levels are high!

DBS94 · 22/09/2022 13:27

@Skylark1990 yup scotland don't do sex scans at all now! I can understand why. Yeah scan tonight at 5:30pm - good luck with yours, so exciting! I've felt nervous all day about mine it's the waiting around I hate

DBS94 · 22/09/2022 13:45

Maybe tmi but has anyone noticed discharge from their nipples? My boobs have been sooo sore the past few weeks and just out the shower and noticed a kind of white dried discharge on both nipples, very small amount x
