@mummatara, I am so sorry. Thinking of you and praying for your heartache.

mummatara · 20/09/2022 15:17

Thank you everyone. I have a lovely support network we've been through MC before in June so it's still all very fresh from that but that's life and I can't change the outcome we will try again. My EPU have been very supportive and said next time we get pregnant they will monitor me closely from early on and see if the doctor will do anything maybe with progesterone or aspirin but we will see at the time will be nice to be monitored and I can self refer to them which is a bit of a relief.

Tubbytele · 20/09/2022 16:24

@mummatara really sorry to hear this, please take care and take it easy.

1stimer16 · 20/09/2022 19:02

Have people got 3 separate appointments
1: booking in
2: blood screening
3: dating scan
I got my booking appointment a while back and received a letter today with the other two

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/09/2022 19:10

@mummatara I'm so sorry to hear that ❤️

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/09/2022 19:11

Question, I have my dating scan on Monday, I'll be 12w4d. What happens at the scan? Ive never got further than 6 weeks. Do they do the scan then run through other things like bmi or is it the other way round?

Heath2330 · 20/09/2022 19:13

@chasingtherainbow1 in my area you have the scan first then go and see the midwife straight after but not sure if that varies on area

Heath2330 · 20/09/2022 19:14

@mummatara I'm so sorry thinking of you x

Longbin · 20/09/2022 19:14

@1stimer16 @chasingtherainbow1

I've had booking and bloods and then scan weeks after.

Last time I had the 12 week scan they did not discuss bmi or anything at all, it was just the scan and that was it

DBS94 · 20/09/2022 19:26

I think at 12 week scan they do the blood test for Down syndrome and edwards, or they do in scotland at least. All other blood tests like iron etc are done at the booking appt x

chillichillioil · 20/09/2022 19:27

How's everyone getting on? Been a bit MIA on here as I've been planning a wedding which is in 3 weeks 🫠 being preggo and planning a wedding is tiring! Almost at the 12 week mark and it can't come quick enough!

Hope you're all doing ok xxxxx💜💜💜

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/09/2022 19:30

@Heath2330 @Longbin @DBS94 thanks guys. Hopefully the scan will go well. My partner is coming with me but he has lots on at work so I said he could leave after the scan if I have to stay for an appointment after. They have already said my pregnancy is under a consultant so not sure if I'll have to see them after. We shall see. But hopefully scan will be first. I guess it makes sense so that you know everything is ok before going for an appointment

DBS94 · 20/09/2022 19:33

@chasingtherainbow1 are you under a consultant because of previous miscarriage? I've also been referred to consultant which I was given a separate appointment for. Maybe make a wee list of notes in your phone to ask when you're at your app? Whenever anything pops into my head I write it in my notes to ask the midwife as there's always something new 😂

EMcG3 · 20/09/2022 19:34

Successful 12 week scan today! I had a 12 week scan 2 weeks ago that put me at 10+6, which I was very frustrated about. This one put me at 12+3. Despite being behind on dates, sonographers at both scans were very adamant that baby is healthy, growing well and everything is as expected. If the dates keep slipping this is going to be an exceedingly long pregnancy!

@chasingtherainbow1 I've already had my booking and routine bloods and have declined the downs ect testing I know I see the midwife after but said I won't see consultant until later on my friend who is 28 weeks said she waited 2 hours after scan to see midwife so I will be sending DH back off to work too

EMcG3 · 20/09/2022 19:35

Oh, and it is an April Fools Day baby.

Longbin · 20/09/2022 19:45

@chasingtherainbow1 mine was consultant led too, that's probably why I never saw them after and others did. I've been given a consultant appointment for 22 weeks, after the 20 week scan (still waiting for the date for this)

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/09/2022 19:49

@DBS94 yeah that and because I'm on blood thinners too. That's a good idea, I always forgot what I wanted to ask until I'm on the way home 😂

@Heath2330 yeah I had my booking and bloods too a few weeks ago. Ok that's good to know, I'll definitely send him home if I need to stay. He will drive me mad moaning about waiting lol. @Longbin thanks both, maybe I won't see the consultant until way down the line then. They don't really explain much do they 😂

chasingtherainbow1 · 20/09/2022 19:49

@EMcG3 congratulations, lovely pic! Lovely to see all is well ☺️

DBS94 · 20/09/2022 19:55

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm the same, walk into the hospital and it's like I have a mind blank 😂

@EMcG3 lovely picture, so exciting and congrats on the 12 week mile stone ♥️

Longbin · 20/09/2022 20:15

@chasingtherainbow1 not at all, last time I didn't see a midwife until 30 something weeks and I only met them once! The rest of the time I was just with sonographers, people taking bloods or the consultant (once). This time I've already got 2 midwive appointments booked in already. It seems to completely very depending on where you are as I've moved areas

KennAdams · 20/09/2022 20:54

@EMcG3 lovely picture, glad all went well.

Where we are if you're pregnancy is deemed "high risk" you tend to see a consultant straight after your 12 weeks scan.

Mines on October 6th. Feels forever away.

I have my booking appointment tomorrow 👍🏼 from what I remember it’s a pretty boring conversation about your lifestyle, finances etc. Another EPU appointment on Thursday as they want to check whether the babies have separate amniotic sacs. Then finally 12 week scan on Mon 10th!

CinderellaFant · 20/09/2022 21:03

Had my 12 week scan and booking appointment today and all is good! Baby measuring 11weeks 5 days so that's spot on. Absolutely rubbish pictures though as he/she kept turning its back to us! Lots of moving about and seeing little arms stretching out which was lovely.

bluebubbles12 · 20/09/2022 21:47

Congratulations on the 12 week scans!

I had booking appointment with booking bloods, then tomorrow I've got the 12 week scan and the Downs, Edwards etc blood tests after it.

I've also had a midwife appointment booked in for after the scan, so I'm not sure if that's just booking the blood tests in or whether I'll actually see a midwife? Wasn't expecting to see one until 16 weeks now. I've also had a consultant's appointment booked in for in two weeks time, which seems quite early, so I guess I'll just see what happens at each of these appointments!
