@Matildahoney how are things this morning? X

Skylark1990 · 17/09/2022 09:04

Thank you @SavedByGraceAlone and @alwaysseeingstars . Felt awful again yesterday afternoon and evening, but the mornings do seem a bit easier over the last couple days so that's something.

Having heart palpitations quite badly which is slightly concerning! Will ring midwife next week about it.

I find I feel worse if I've slept badly for sure. @ancienthouse we sound like we are in similar boats, DD has started sleeping with us again and she tosses and turns all night! If found it good to go back to co sleeping as we have been dropping off from breastfeeding. Tbh I wake every hour or so anyway even when she isn't in the bed!

Matildahoney · 17/09/2022 09:25

@DBS94 thank you for asking, seems to be ok this morning. Very scary at the time though!

Skylark1990 · 17/09/2022 11:15

@Matildahoney hope you don't get any more spotting! That's definitely scary x

DBS94 · 17/09/2022 11:42

@Matildahoney that's good to hear, many reasons for a bit of spotting so try not to worry!

How's everyone feeling? I'm just over 10 weeks and finally feeling like there's light at the end of the tunnel with morning sickness, past few days I've felt more human and even managed to get out for a food shop this morning x

SavedByGraceAlone · 17/09/2022 15:17

@DBS94, same here - feeling almost normal today! Went on a long walk with DH, did a shop, bit of cleaning... How long will it last, I wonder! 😅 Am 10 weeks tomorrow.

For those on progesterone: is anyone on Utrogestan Vaginal? I ran out of Cyclogest and now only have packs of utrogestan. Is anyone using these rectally?

It seems to say for vaginal use, but I've had a bad thrush last time so moved to back end and don't want to change it now! Just wonder if it gets absorbed then. X

ancienthouse · 17/09/2022 15:22

@DBS94 I'm 10 weeks today and definitely feel a little better. I still nearly threw up my breakfast and I can't leave the house, but I've been in the garden and sitting up which is a vast improvement! I hope it keeps easing off now.

Wouldloveanother · 17/09/2022 15:26

@Skylark1990 I’m also having palpitations, although it’s hard to tell if it’s really that or just my stomach constantly flipping and churning. If I feel really sick my heart goes a bit crazy anyway, probably gearing up for me to actually be sick.

I had an awful night last night, awake 3 times including once for 2 hours, just feeling really ill and drained and sick. 10+5 today, I’ve spent the day mainly in bed trying to nap.

Glad to hear some of you are on the mend xxx

ancienthouse · 17/09/2022 15:35

@Wouldloveanother sorry you're still feeling so rubbish. Hopefully one day very soon it will start to lift. It's completely miserable.

I'm thinking I might feel better today because of the gaviscon I've been drinking for acid reflux. Either the gaviscon itself or the fennel flavour seem to calm my stomach churning down.

Longbin · 17/09/2022 16:50

@SavedByGraceAlone I used to have utrogestan and was told to do them vaginally, wasn't given the option for rectory

Wisher88 · 17/09/2022 17:11

I'm 8wks 3Ds and very itchy!! Particularly my breasts, apparently this is to do with skin stretching as they get bigger!?

simplythequest · 17/09/2022 17:43

@DBS94 I'm 10 weeks today and have felt much better today than I have for the past week and a bit! I managed to walk the dog and go food shopping. Started feeling a bit overwhelmed after that and have spent almost the whole afternoon asleep! But I haven't felt as sick and I haven't been burping constantly, which is a welcome relief. Hoping this is the beginning of better feeling, as I have the Year 6 residential in just over a week 😬

Margo34 · 17/09/2022 22:03

OMG I'm absolutely livid at my DH. I need a rant and it's not necessarily entirely about pregnancy. Anyone else not suffering food aversions but finding themself regularly ravenous at meal times, like clockwork? Well today we've went to a friend's bday party and it took hours to get there (DH thought it would be a good idea to travel over lunch time despite my protestations) so ravenous on arrival at 3pm and had a pulled pork bap, then bit of cake 5pm ish. Said to DH at 6 we need to limber up to leave because still need dinner for us and also DC1 needs to go to bed - we'd booked into a nearby hotel for the night. Got to hotel 715pm, DH rolling around on the floor absolutely wasted moaning and groaning and being all kinds of drunk while I'm trying to settle the 23m old into the travel cot. So I sent DH to order food to eat in our room once DC1 asleep and sent him a message so he had written down the order and room number. Off he trots/wobbles. 1.5 f-ing hr later he returns looking even more drunk, foodless and incoherent! Little one only just dropped off to sleep too. So I kicked him straight back out after a massive doorway whispered argument about well he doesn't know what I want and why do I need to eat anyway? Seriously?!! I'm BF our DC1 and pregnant with DC2, it's gone 9pm I have hardly eaten all day, I'm ravenous, I need to eat. I'm livid!!! Off he trots again, bumping into the wall all the way down the corridor. Another half hr later, after I've eaten all DC1s snacks that I packed for tomorrow and the journey home, he sends a message to say he's ordered. Another 20m later he returns with food. He then proceeds to ask me what he's done wrong through very slurred speech that you ahve to properly tune in to to understand. FFS. Don't starve your pregnant wife for a start. Now he's passed out on the bed and I've just sat eating, finally, in the dark on the floor of our room.

Breakfast opens at 630am tomorrow - might set my alarm for 530am and leave my phone next to his head on loud just to spite him to make sure we're up for breakfast, is that really petty?

I haven't really felt any pregnancy symptoms today, maybe I've been too distracted by hunger to notice?

Sorry for the long rant (I do feel better now though, thank you 😆)

Missgemini · 18/09/2022 09:02

@Margo34 rant away! You simply do not mess with a pregnant woman’s food! Haha
Yeah, I do not allow any chance for hunger. I always have food and snacks on standby. If I get hungry, I’ll feel like I’m going to faint.
I hope you’re well fed and doing better this morning :)

Springblooms08 · 18/09/2022 10:42

I’ve had a killer headache for the last two days and it’s just not budging. 9w today. Has anyone else had headaches and found anything that helped?

Wouldloveanother · 18/09/2022 10:43

@Margo34 ooooooh that would annoy me! Bit of the silent treatment this morning maybe while he nurses his hangover?!

EMcG3 · 18/09/2022 11:04

@Margo34 that would make me crazy! I'd say DC1 is his responsibility this morning since you bore the burden last night!

Deek88 · 18/09/2022 11:37

Hey everyone - accidentally posted on the thread 2 page without realising there were so many others!!

Im new here so lovely to see so many other mums to be due in April.

my story: After suffering 2 early losses and undergoing years of tears, I was told in 2012 that I couldn’t conceive naturally and assisted conception would be my only option. As a results has IVF back in 2014 and gave birth to my beautiful boy girl twins in 2015. We had another loss in 2019 and for me, that was the end of my journey to be a mum and never thought there would be another addition to the family. As I couldn’t face going through more losses.

We were away getting married in August, very relaxing time with no stress and when came back and I had a funny feeling, my period was nowhere to be seen but years of PCOS related irregular periods didn’t make me too hopeful but took a test anyway. To our shock and delight, we were positive!

Based on LMP I would have been due on 2nd April 23 but we went for a private scan last week to discover a perfect little heartbeat and baby measuring 7 weeks, so I’m 8 weeks today based of those measurements with an EDD of 30th April.

I have my ‘12 weeks scan’ next week (despite calling to let the midwife know i was behind the dates that had) so I assume the dates will be corrected on the NHS side then?

Skylark1990 · 18/09/2022 11:48

Oh gosh, sounds like you really went through the wringer yesterday @Margo34 ! I'd be so angry at DH if he did that 😅😬 not acceptable. Hope you had a good sleep and having all the food today.

@Deek88 welcome! Don't worry we are a busy bunch haha lots of chat. That's such a lovely story, very happy for you! And congrats on your marriage too! X

DBS94 · 18/09/2022 13:38

Ladies, bit of a random one but we're heading out for dinner in a bit. What's your thoughts on goats cheese on a pizza during pregnancy? I've avoided all foods we need to and been very cautious but I'm thinking this could be ok as it's cooked?

EMcG3 · 18/09/2022 13:51

@DBS94 - the description I have read for eating brie is "baked until it is bubbly". I don't know if goat cheese bubbles but I reckon baking would be sufficient. I would do it, but I reckon that there are people out there who are stricter than I am.

ancienthouse · 18/09/2022 14:01

How's everyone's sickness? I'm back to feeling completely rubbish again today. I'm retching even lying down and have a horrible heavy churning pain in my stomach, and a sicky taste in my mouth all the time. Really hoping it eases off properly soon!!

Wouldloveanother · 18/09/2022 14:40

@ancienthouse 💐 it’s so disappointing to have a good day and feel like it’s lifting, only for it to be back the next. I’m still feeling awful, and recognise that ‘heavy churning’ feeling very well - it’s a mixture of that and a flipping/heart racing feeling which makes me feel dizzy. Wish I could be all positive but I’m not, I’m fed up.

Margo34 · 18/09/2022 16:03

I've calmed down this morning 😂 I did have the hump all morning though and he worked out pretty quickly that he is on nappy duty and toddler entertainment for the day with a banging hangover. Apparently he fell asleep in the hotel foyer next to vending machines (right next to the restaurant 🙄) when he first came back empty handed!

DBS94 · 19/09/2022 05:49

Anyone waking up super early?? 5:30 is my new wake up time no matter what time I go to bed or how I sleep!! Think that's why I struggle throughout the day so much 😴
