I've lost my mind waiting for my early scan and have booked a new scan this eve. Have one booked with a different company for Saturday (I'll push it back to 16 wks as won't get deposit back).
New scan is a two-hour round trip because nowhere near me has appointments this eve and I've got myself in such a tiz needing to know 🤣. I just don't want to be bobbing along thinking it's fine when it's not.
Plus I think I'd never sleep Friday night but waking up and just booking it means I had a goodnight sleep.
Seven weeks today since last period but I think I ovulated around day 16, so I might be slightly under 7 wks, still likely to get a definitive answer.
Now just to keep busy until this evening! Fingers crossed - I don't know how I'd survive another MC, the first one completely broke me, I really don't know how women find the strength to keep going ❤️

I'm with you on this! It's my first time and 7 weeks today too...got a scan booked for a week today but got real scanxiety already! Hope everything goes well for you today!

Chocolat · 07/09/2022 13:35

After being against an early scan, I have one booked for tomorrow at 10+2 as a birthday present to myself, hope it’s a good one 🥺

MummyOfBoys2022 · 07/09/2022 14:44

@DBS94 @Heath2330 I went to my scan baby was fine measuring 7w 0d but they said that's common as it's only around 1 week 5 days behind my dates heart beat was 146bpm

Had my booking in appointment Monday. Made it all feel very real. 😬

Heath2330 · 07/09/2022 15:04

@MummyOfBoys2022 congratulations lovely scan pic and glad everything is looking ok xx

MummyOfBoys2022 · 07/09/2022 15:05

@Heath2330 thank you slightly relieved now x

So happy for all who have had positive scans! I have my next scan with EPU on the 15th and it feels a million miles away, should be 7+3 when i return but it seems so far!

I have my booking appointment on 22nd and 12 week scan on 6th October.. trying to not allow myself to get too excited or carried away but boobs are still hurting, heartburn is a killer on a night and getting waves of nausea.. my spots have cleared up a little bit but im so emotional..
I hope everybody else is keeping okay! X

@bluebubbles12 I'm also classed as a high risk pregnancy because of a previous gigantic baby and an emergency c section.
I think I might have a fight on my hands to aim for a VBAC in the birth centre but I'm going to try.

Say you’re having a home birth if they don’t agree 😉

I had an obstetrician appointment yesterday, I made it very clear I’m only happy to be induced at 37w if an epidural is put in place before the drip starts, and that I won’t be agreeing to anything until I feel I have sufficient pain relief.

It’s difficult being ‘high risk’ and trying to negotiate birth choices isn’t it. It feels like they see a risk factor in your notes and instantly write you off!

how lovely, must’ve been a relief seeing the heart beat ♥️ great photo!

@Leanne053 I'm in the same boat - I feel your pain! Nearly all day nausea and loads of retching, a little bit of vomiting. It's horrible. I'm trying to eat little and often which does kind of help some of the time... crackers or grapes or something innofensive... bananas, cereal... how many weeks are you? It's likely meds won't really help the nausea but you could always try. At least hopefully it will be a short time in the scheme of things and at the end of it you'll have a tiny baby for all your trouble! <3

@Wouldloveanother Aww nice. I am not sure, DH kinda wants to have a surprise this time. Found out with DD which was great, I did want a girl as I'd always imagined a girl so it was nice to know early on :) wasn't really a preference but I just felt I was meant to have a girl... this time no real preference either way, I like the idea of sisters, also like the idea of one of each. Think this will be our final baby. How about you?? x

Same here! I wanted a girl with DD (although it wasn’t a strong preference, more ‘if I had to choose’) but this time round I have zero preference really. I could happily go team cream and wait until the birth but DH is desperate to know for some reason 🙄 so I expect we’ll ask at the 20 week scan! I’m pretty hot on nub theory so will take a guess at the 12 week scan, will be interesting to see if I get it right. Not too long then hopefully we can break the news to our little ones!

Ahhhh how lovely!! That's such a clear pic xx

Longbin · 07/09/2022 15:55

@Wouldloveanother I said I would only be induced with the drip if the epidural went in first and they did stick to their word. I had the pessaries, then the epidural went in right as they broke my waters and they put the drip in straight after that. The whole thing was fine in the end, it took ages but it was pretty uneventful! Would definitely not mind doing it again that way round

Sounds great! Was it your first induction? How did you feel to push?

Longbin · 07/09/2022 16:32

@Wouldloveanother yep it was my first. I could feel the pushing, even when I had the contractions I could feel them strongly but just not as strong as without the epidural. The contractions with the epidural and drip in felt much stronger than the pessary and no epidural, if that makes sense. I stopped having top ups an hour before pushing but I did push for ages and ended up needing ventouse, I think this is because I was stuck in a chair from the monitors rather than the epidural! I had the mobile one where you can still walk around so I would get sent on a little walk every hour or so when I was dilating and I could still feel my legs like normal, it was crazy. I don't think all hospitals offer the mobile one though as my friend told me she couldn't feel her legs at all or feel anything for pushing

PuddingBear · 07/09/2022 17:55

Had my booking in appointment today - EDD is 23rd April 😊

Due to the preeclampsia and EMCS last time, they’re classing it as a high risk pregnancy. I said I think I’m going to ask for an ELCS this time and she said the consultant will probably try and talk me into a VBAC but to stand firm if that’s what I want.

I had quite a traumatic early induction last time that ended in a prem, NICU baby after unexplained bleeding and an EMCS. Over Christmas. Alone because of covid.

So I think I’m pretty set on an ELCS and I certainly will not be doing an induction this time.

It’s the same midwife as I had last time which is lovely 😊

Wouldloveanother · 07/09/2022 18:10

@Longbin thats interesting thanks for sharing! I briefly considered ELCS but obstetrician said yesterday given my previous VB I have a 95% chance of another VB and it being straightforward. Given the baby will be slightly early I think I’d like to go down this route so baby has the benefits of a vaginal delivery (heard it squeezes the lungs & helps with their gastric system or something?). Here’s hoping for smooth deliveries for us both!

Longbin · 07/09/2022 18:48

@Wouldloveanother that's what I heard about the lungs too. I don't think I'll be induced this time unless things change. I can't imagine just spontaneously going into labour!

Tropicana1 · 07/09/2022 19:56

@Victoria98 why aren't you happy about your scan date? If you're only 6-7 weeks then mid October would be the expected time to have your first scan. Earlier scans are usually only if you pay a private company or have any relevant history or symptoms needing an early scan 😊

Got my booking appointment tomorrow - wondering now If I'll be classed as high risk this time based on what
Some of you ladies are saying has made yours high risk or just normal. Had severe obstetric cholestasis with a same day induction when it was picked up ending in EMCS, and had group b strep.

Tropicana1 · 07/09/2022 20:03

Also, (not that this may be relevant for anyone else 😂) but I've found my severe nausea and vomiting has been made worse by all the bland carby food I've been eating to try and counter it weirdly. I now can't even stomach the thought of toast / bread / sandwiches etc because I've thrown them up so much, but today have felt soooo much better eating fresh food and cucumber tastes amazing 🤣🤣 so weird but had tuna on seeded flatbread crackers with cucumber and it's the first lunch I've not thrown back up in a week. No idea what to sub in instead of Tuna so I don't eat too much though!

I can’t imagine spontaneously going into labour either! In a way I would love to know what a ‘natural’ labour is like but on the other hand my pre term induction was very speedy and my sister almost gave birth at home accidentally so I quite like having the control of knowing it’s about to happen.

Wouldloveanother · 07/09/2022 20:11

@Tropicana1 everyone is high risk these days! I hardly know anyone who hasn’t had some kind of complicating factor! I would assume a previous CS would make you high risk? But not certain, I guess it depends on whether you wanted a VBAC or not. Each trust seems to have their own rules.

Victoria98 · 07/09/2022 20:15

I just feel it’s a long time away I’ve not long had a miscarriage and Im getting some very light pink discharge.

I got this last time more often then this time and turned into red blood so bit on edge.

I had an early scan last time that confirmed the miscarriage before further bleeding so I new it was happening.

I just don’t want to sit in a room with a midwife going through everything if it’s not ok.

hopefully you are classed as high risk, did you give this information before advising your doctor you are pregnant xx

Victoria98 · 07/09/2022 20:17

Would be about 7 weeks now but my stomach is very bloated 😬

Wisher88 · 07/09/2022 20:29

Good evening ladies - had my early scan. Thought I was 7wks, although I know I ovulated on day 16/17 so I knew I'd be a few days behind. Measuring 6wks 2ds. Normal heartbeat ❤️.
I noticed some people were given the heart rate, this wasn't offered and I did ask but she said they don't tell people for some reason.
Interestingly the scan was all on my tummy rather than transvaginal (which I expected as it's so early).
It hasn't sunk in yet at all - and you think it's in your imagination until you see it on the screen!
Looking forward to 12 wk scan!

Tropicana1 · 07/09/2022 21:27

@Wouldloveanother yes I was wondering more about the cholestasis and emcs combination. Hopefully won't be but it hasn't even occurred to me I might be until reading lots on here
