@Butterflytulip sorry for the delayed update!
Dramatic day yesterday, her heart rate dipped whilst on the monitor and stayed down, emergency cord was pulled and I was whisked round to the labour ward. I was only 2cm still and she wasn't engaged, so they made two attempts to break my waters, but she was too high, took me to theatre and managed to break them there with me on gas an air. Had to do it in theatre in case of cord prolapse. This was done at 1.30pm, They then put me on the syntocin drip, and I contracted gently for a few hours until a midwife ramped up the drop, wasn't coping and asked for an epidural, they examined me at 5 and I was only 3cm, she was still high and her heart rate was dropping again. So the emergency cord was pulled again, they prepped for C section, but I suddenly go the urge to push and I'd gone from 3cm to 10cm in five mins. I started pushing and again heart rate was dropping, was told theatre, back to front episiotomy and forceps were needed, but I managed some big pushes and they could see the top of the head, so the doctor kept allowing another thirty seconds. Forceps were ready as we're ventouse. By some miracle I managed to get her out and she arrived at 6.33pm. Weight 7lbs 9oz, so not the 9lbs that was predicted. The cord was wrapped tightly around her neck. Named Iona :)
So it was traumatic and very upsetting for DH to witness, as I believe the emergency cord was pulled three times whilst I was in labour, at which point everyone comes running. She's more than worth it though!
