@KilledAnotherPlant so sorry to hear this 😞 really hope you get your rainbow soon 🌈 xxx

Wouldloveanother · 22/08/2022 19:32

Oh I’m sorry @KilledAnotherPlant 😞 hope you’re okay and everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Honestly ladies my appetite has gone mad! I’ve totally gone off my usual light/healthy/veg-based meals and instead I’m craving sugary cold fruity things (Fanta, melon, kiwi etc) OR really greasy stodge like chips, English breakfast, burgers. Last night I made DH go out and get me a quarter pounder and a McFlurry Blush this has never happened before! Just mad.

2 weeks until scan day, DH has taken the morning off so going to drop Dd at nursery and go straight to the hospital. I think it will feel more real after the scan, at the moment the only physical proof I have is a few dried out pee sticks from 2 weeks ago!

is anyone else getting a bit ahead of themselves and window shopping online for baby things?

Longbin · 22/08/2022 20:20

Sorry @KilledAnotherPlant, take care x

chasingtherainbow1 · 22/08/2022 20:20

Welcome to all the new joiners.

@KilledAnotherPlant sorry to hear of your news. Take care of yourself 💕 hope you have some great people around you at this time.

Anyone between the 7-8 week mark? What sort of symptoms are you having? My boobs are still painful and get occasional period like pain but other than that I feel fine. I have a few food aversions but not much nausea at all, In fact pretty much non existent. Got another scan tomorrow and hoping everything will be fine. I get really bad anxiety over scans due to 3 miscarriages, one of which was a missed miscarriage.

Longbin · 22/08/2022 20:26

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm 7+3. My nausea has been better for the last week but it's still there. I do feel much better than I did with my daughter though as I was physically sick constantly and couldn't eat. This time around if I eat it makes me feel much better

Bub20 · 22/08/2022 20:37

@chchasingtherainbow1 I'm 7+1. Nausea has been getting gradually worse over the past week, seems to be an all day thing but I feel better when I eat which makes it more manageable! With my daughter I had intense sickness all morning so this is preferable! Also so tired, sore boobs, and a really strong sense of smell!

AliceinSlumberland · 22/08/2022 20:39

@KilledAnotherPlant so so sorry, such a shitty situation. Really hope you get your sticky baby soon x

@Wouldloveanother your list of what you’re craving is exactly the same as mine! Although not the stodgy things yet but I bet it’s coming!

Told my best friend today who I’m due to be a bridesmaid for 6 weeks after birth. My mum is convinced I won’t be able to do it and need to tell her I’m standing down now, but am I naive to think maybe I will be able to? It’s only 40 mins away, my husband is invited too and its very kid friendly. I’m hoping that my biggest issue will be fitting into the dress! But I think I’d just buy a couple of clothes sizes bigger and get it taken in if needed.

Congrats to @EL8888! According to the NHS due date calculator I’m 27th so you’re a day ahead of me.

—————-

I hope no one minds me saying this but I wanted to address something with you all RE symptoms. I have mentioned with DS I hardly had any symptoms throughout my entire pregnancy. I wasn’t sick a single time, barely felt nauseous and didn’t have cravings, aversions or even sore breasts! Despite that, I had a healthy pregnancy and now have a healthy 3 year old. At the time though, it bought me lots of anxiety and stress. I had practically convinced myself I wouldn’t see anything at the 12w scan (even through we saw the heartbeat at 6+ weeks). I thought the symptomless first trimester meant my pregnancy was doomed. I lived almost every day of my pregnancy in fear that something bad was going to happen.

I know when you say you can’t wait for nausea or it’ll be fine when the sickness or symptoms start you know things will be fine isn’t meant any other way to reassure those people. But, for me, as someone who didn’t have symptoms, reading stuff like that always made my anxiety 100 times worse and it still does now. I just wanted to say that for anyone that may read this and feel how I did with DS that symptoms don’t mean a pregnancy won’t fail, and a lack of them doesn’t mean it will.

As always, wishing everyone a happy and healthy 9 months.

Evening all,

A lot had happened since this morning! I've had a quick read through and someone mentioned feeling worried about a lack of symptoms (sorry I can't recall who). I've tagged my original post - which was mentioned by someone else - I hope it helps!

@KilledAnotherPlant I'm so sorry for your loss 💔

chasingtherainbow1 · 22/08/2022 20:42

@Longbin @Bub20 thanks guys. I have been eating little bit often, i wonder of this is why my sickness hasn't really kicked in. Although I am finding it difficult to pick what I want to eat because the thought of smelling and eating a lot of foods makes me feel weird. I'm hoping I'm one of those who don't suffer from sickness. I'll be 7w5d tomorrow and my scan isn't until 5.30 so I'm going to be thinking about it all day!

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 20:51

@KilledAnotherPlant so sorry 😢 take care ❤️

Longbin · 22/08/2022 20:53

@AliceinSlumberland make sure you think about the bra situation for the dress as you might leak through, depending on what the fabric is like!

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 20:54

@chasingtherainbow1 I'm 7+5 and in the same boat! Not really any noticeable symptoms just the odd bit of nausea when I'm tired, slightly sensitive nipples and very infrequent cramps, but wouldn't really know I was pregnant if I didn't already know... Had more symptoms at 5 weeks.

@B1993 ah that was me! Thank you for re sharing, that's reassuring ✨

chasingtherainbow1 · 22/08/2022 21:09

@Sunnyxo yeah exactly the same, felt so much more pregnant at 4-5 weeks! Sounds silly but I'd like some symptoms to come back just for a bit of reassurance!

Chocolat · 22/08/2022 21:11

@chasingtherainbow1 @Sunnyxo
i am also the same with symptoms! I’m 7+6 with a bit of nausea to at comes and goes, some food aversions and sore breasts. But no weird smells, metallic taste, vomiting etc. Had some pink spotting on wiping this morning which settled. Also getting occasional cramping. But yeah definitely expected a lot more symptoms by now!

@B1993 really reassuring post thanks xx

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 21:14

@chasingtherainbow1 so weird! How far along are you? I know your fairly close in day sorry I think I've probably asked before but can't remember exactly.

Yeah I kind of wish for the same just for reassurance that somethings going on 😂

AliceinSlumberland · 22/08/2022 21:14

@Longbin ahhh great about I hadn’t even thought of that!!

BecksLouise · 22/08/2022 21:15

@chasingtherainbow1 yes I’m 7+3, nausea has settled down, not sure if that’s because I’m snacking more, some cramping and tiredness.
I can’t seem to quench my thirst though, I’m drinking all sorts but nothing is hitting the spot!

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 21:17

@Chocolat ahh reassuring to hear you're the same!

It definitely just feels like there should be more going on at this stage...

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 21:19

@AliceinSlumberland I'm not sure after a pregnancy what it's like but can imagine it's tiring! I'm sure though if you're friend is understanding that you may not be able to have excessive responsibility and can have regular breaks or a little nap, it should be okay. If there's other bridesmaids that'll make things a lot easier too 😊

Longbin · 22/08/2022 21:20

@AliceinSlumberland it was the one thing I struggled with after birth because I didn't realise how full on it is. And I barely had any milk!! Constantly had giant wet patches where I forgot 😂

Chocolat · 22/08/2022 21:21

@Sunnyxo its quite weird but reassuring that there’s quite a few of us on here around the same gestation with the similar lack of expected symptoms 😅

B1993 · 22/08/2022 21:22

@AliceinSlumberland I personally think you're best off speaking to the bride before making any decisions. I was in a similar position and think it's best for our situation for me not to be apart of the bridal party. I want to breastfeed DC2 like I did with my son and we all know BF are always attached those first few months. I think it might cramp everyone's style having a newborn during getting ready etc. Plus the wedding is 2 hours from me so that's a big part of the decision. Obviously it's a completely personal choice
and if you feel you'll be able to manage both roles, I say go for it!!

@Wouldloveanother It's very unlike me but I haven't been tempted to buy anything for new bub yet. I have most things from my first so won't need to buy very much at all this time around (with the exception of clothes, if it's a girl).

Sunnyxo · 22/08/2022 21:24

@Chocolat definitely reassuring 😃 I was getting a bit worried thinking maybe I'd overdone something with work or travelling or stress 😂

Winstan · 22/08/2022 21:26

Joining! First ever post!

AliceinSlumberland · 22/08/2022 21:27

Thanks for the advice guys, I’m going to be requesting an elective c section so going massively overdue wouldn’t be a contributing factor, I can be fairly sure it’ll be around 6 weeks, but I definitely hadn’t considered the impact of BFing enough. I’m hoping to combi feed but who knows if that will work, some babies will not take a bottle will they so I definitely need to consider that.
