I’m the same! I’m 9 + 6 today and have only had very subtle symptoms so far too! I have been feeling tired and have had a few food aversions (I mainly want crisps and bread alllll the time!) but no nausea as such, and my boobs aren’t even that sore either! Had a scan a couple of weeks ago and saw the baby and a heartbeat but I am still a bit anxious. Apparently it is normal to have not many or any symptoms so I think we should probably be grateful to have dodged the horrible nausea and sickness… When is your nhs 12 wk scan? Mine’s not for another 3 weeks, feels ages away!

Babynum2 · 06/08/2022 15:06

@cherrydropss this is my third i wasnt sick with my first 2 and i had no symptons at all with my first. I have HG so im very sick this time so dont panic if you have no symptons i wish i didnt.

cherrydropss · 06/08/2022 17:16

@Cdoc Ahh how lovely that your scan went well! So glad I have people in the same boat, it's hard not to convince yourself that the worst has happened. Sorry to hear about your MMC too, it definitely makes it a more nerve wrecking time!

@pamplemousse19 I feel so much better after reading your reply! I don't have my midwife appt until next week because I'm in the middle of a 10 day holiday but hopefully I get booked in at 12 weeks. It does feel like such a long wait doesn't it?!

@Babynum2 Oh no I can't even imagine how awful you feel. I hope it subsides soon and you start to feel better. I know they say every pregnancy is different but this is nothing like my first!

rach971 · 06/08/2022 17:55

What is with the bloaatttt?! All I've eaten today is a Squares bar, a Kit Kat and a pasta salad and I look a few months pregnant 🙈 I keep trying to pretend it's an early bump 🤣 My tummy basically looks like this all the time now except for when I first wake up of a morning.

hol92 · 06/08/2022 21:11

@rach971 same!! How many weeks are you? I wake up in the morning and it’s still insanely bloated, I can’t wear anything tight anymore otherwise people would definitely think I’m 5 months pregnant 😂😂

rach971 · 06/08/2022 21:21

@hol92 Just over 7 weeks but it's been happening for like a week at least now, my work trousers are getting tight 😩 luckily I'm living in leggings at home haha

MattyM5 · 06/08/2022 21:55

Hi all, finally managed to get booked in for my first midwife booking appointment after they forgot me (hurrah!). Only now I’m worried because it’s not until I’m 11 weeks, nearly 12 weeks pregnant and on the NHS website it says that it needs to be done within the 10 weeks of pregnancy 😵‍💫 Is this going to be a problem?

Babynum2 · 06/08/2022 22:39

@MattyM5 they say 10 weeks because ideally needs to be before 12 week scan.

Cats23 · 06/08/2022 23:58

Im hoping to get an early scan next week I will be 6+4 monday, In my last 5 pregancies (4 surviving) Ive had HG from about 7weeks,
Im super tired at mo and very mild nausea, barely noticeable, slight loss of appetite.
I feel worried Im not feeling more 'sick', hoping an Early scan will reassure

havanamama · 07/08/2022 07:55

9+2 today!

has anyone thought of doing the SneakPeak? Basically is anyone finding out the sex of the baby before the 20 week scan?

Bobduncan · 07/08/2022 08:23

@Cats23 I have the exact same symptoms as you and I'm 7 weeks today! If I hadn't done a pg test, I wouldn't even know there was a baby in there!

Perexi · 07/08/2022 08:49

Managed to get through a wedding yesterday sober without any questions or people seeing I wasn't drinking with a mixture of mocktails and diet cokes. Although it got quite painful when everyone was wasted!

I did take a very small sip of the champagne for the toasts though and I didn't like it which is not like me! They do say that you might dislike things you shouldn't be having!

Yep already planning ours for mid September when I'll be 16 weeks 🤣

That's ridiculous! I can't believe they forgot you! Don't worry about the timing of the appointment, it's just to go through yours and DPs medical history (mostly yours obvs)

Well done @Perexi ! Weddings must be #1 worst scenario for early pregnancy 🤣 glad you made through it without a hitch

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 09:26

@Perexi I had a party last weekend. I didn't like it and wish I could have just told people. On arrival free pimms, mojito or orange and lemonade and just had to say I didn't like pimms or mojito (love them both!)

Had coke or lemonade in a glass with a straw so I could stir in the "spirit"!

Did manage to get alcohol free beer when no one else was at the bar. Husbands boss working the bar and he knows so he poured it into a glass for me before others saw!

Splashh · 07/08/2022 09:31

Hi everyone, just joined after years of mumsnet lurking 😅. Currently 9+2 with hopefully our first due 10th March '23. We've had a few losses but investigated & hopefully this is our rainbow baby. Congrats to everyone due around March!

@Perexi also had a wedding yesterday, nightmare - everyone basically knows no matter how much we denied it!!

@Cats23 I've not had any sickness, I had crazy hunger in 4-6w, then constant nausea 7-8w when hungry and after eating too big a meal, garlic gave me nausea and spice made me bloated. This week I've been having smaller meals and it's helped a lot. The only constant symptom I've had are the girls, boobs have been sore & massive throughout 😒😒

MattyM5 · 06/08/2022 08:07

@2019Mama good on you for chasing up! Exactly the same happened to me, managed to get through yesterday and they said ‘oh sorry you must have slipped the system’ 😅. They didn’t give me an appointment but apparently sent a chaser to the relevant people. So not re-assuring.

Do we know if there are any negative consequences if you don’t have the first appointment within 10 weeks? Might get tight for me….

Hi @MattyM5 my
Pregnancy last year I had to cancel my booking appointment due to covid isolation, I ended up getting it at 15 weeks and they didn't seem to be concerned about the timing. I had been for a couple of private scams so knew everything was ok. This time my booking appointment is for 11+4. In my area they do booking in and 12 week scan all At the one appointment. I hope this eases your worry a bit ☺️

Congratulations! Everything crossed for you!

I think my saving grace was the fact the wedding was my partner's friends and due to covid we haven't met before so they don't know my normal drinks!

Definitely feel like I overdid it though as I feel like I could sleep for a week 🤣 quiet day today will hopefully help

havanamama · 07/08/2022 10:19

@TeddyBeans are you doing SneakPeak or another type of test?

TeddyBeans · 07/08/2022 10:39

@havanamama it'll be the window to the womb one, think they just call it a gender scan but they do a 4D sneak peek 😁 obviously a gimmick to get you to book a full 4D scan and it worked on me last time and I'm already planning one this time for about 27/28 weeks 🤣

OP posts:
GreenIsle · 07/08/2022 10:54

I'm 9 weeks 5 days today and had a small amount of spotting this morning, it was not much at all but now I'm worried because I had a missed miscarriage before.

Got a private scan booked for tomorrow morning I will not sleep at all tonight.

Babynum2 · 07/08/2022 11:39

@havanamama I already have mine booked for 6 weeks time my bestfriend has got to excited and carried away shes coming with us and then doing a gender reveal the next day she loves a party! Suppose takes the stress off me organising.

rach971 · 07/08/2022 12:41

@havanamama I'll be finding out early, I think our local private scan place does it from 15 weeks. Although there's another one about a half an hour drive away that does gender blood tests from 6 weeks! They just take your blood, send it off and then you find out. Apparently 99.9% accurate!

Anyone hoping for a specific gender? I know the cliché is 'as long as it's healthy' but yeah. I have a daughter and from the beginning I've been convinced this one's a boy, no idea why. I won't be disappointed if it's a girl but it'll take me a little while to get my head around.

TeddyBeans · 07/08/2022 12:44

@rach971 I think baby's going to be another boy but I thought DS was a girl and he obviously isn't so I won't be surprised if baby is a girl 🤣 just to prove my instinct is completely naff
