@Thirdtimesacharm3 sorry you are struggling. No advice on this. I am sure some other ladies will be along soon with suggestions. The GP sounds a good place to go x x

Bee16 · 05/08/2022 19:07

@Sandcastles24 thank you. My 12 week scan is in 2 weeks so I guess it will just become my 20 week instead

Babynum2 · 05/08/2022 19:11

@Thirdtimesacharm3 we are similar im 9+5 due date 5th march, third baby and very sick. Ive had 3 different combo of meds and tbh none have worked, thats not to say it wont work for someone else so worth a try.

JB2021 · 05/08/2022 19:32

@Sandcastles24 im hoping it doesn't take 3 weeks for a letter to come through! We just want a scan date

LittleAcorn20 · 05/08/2022 19:42

@Thirdtimesacharm3 9+5 too and I think gp is a good route. It can't hurt. The first meds they prescribed didn't work. You'll know straight away they're meant to work within an hour. I did a few days on those ones and had to go back. I was vomiting within an hour or two of taking them. They prescribed me some really strong ones but said not recommended long term use so I've just had 10 days worth.
After that I've got yet another one to try 👍 either way, the GPs have been helpful to me, and I just think it's worth a try. None of the conventional tips were working to ease mine and it caused me to have a week of work, not be able to look after my toddler etc. So, I needed to try anything really.
I've had no trouble getting them to prescribe things but I have read of others having trouble getting them to prescribe. I think you just have to say how it's affecting your day to day activities and obviously you have other little ones to look after so, that's a big factor day to day!

LittleAcorn20 · 05/08/2022 20:05

Is anyone else around the 10 week mark and still spotting occasionally?
I've been to EPU twice. At 6+3 and 8+5. Both times it's been ok. And last time they told me they could see a clot on the lining and to maybe expect a little bit more spotting as that comes away. That coupled with the fact I've just been told I have a UTI and I know that can cause spotting too.
But for all I know these factors mean it's probably just 'normal' it's really upsetting me now.
It's so hard to just brush it off everytime. It's happening a couple of times a week. It's so upsetting and nerve wracking to see every time 😩 I'm finding it really triggering.
I'd go back to EPU every single time if it wasn't too hard sorting childcare and driving the 35min journey there everytime 🤦‍♀️
Instead I just sit and pray it doesn't develop into anything more 😬 anyone else?

havanamama · 05/08/2022 21:01

I’ve got my dating scan at 11+4 days, so just 2,5 weeks left till we see baby again 😊 and 3 weeks left in the 1st trimester.

we saw baby for the first time at 7+5, so excited to see them again and get a more accurate due date.

I got the nausea acupuncture bands today and they did help!

I have not had any spotting

JB2021 · 05/08/2022 22:10

@havanamama do you mind me asking when your booking appointment was and what area of the country you're in? Hoping my scan is around that time too but only had booking appointment today

ChristmasJumpers · 05/08/2022 22:23

I'm 6+1 weeks today and the nausea and vomiting kicked in this evening 🤮
Horrendous!!! I'm off to a show tomorrow evening and really hoping I'm not sick while out!!

AK93 · 05/08/2022 22:56

@Bee16 Wishing you all the best, what could you see on the scan given you’re further along than originally thought? xx

Camia · 05/08/2022 23:13

Hey, everyone! Life has been really hectic so I haven't been on but I hope everyone is doing well. We had a scare with some light bleeding recently, it stopped before I got a scan and they couldn't identify what might have caused it but baby is doing great. Measuring 10 weeks on the dot, strong heartbeat, and wiggling away in there. My morning sickness is finally getting better, I'm down to getting sick 1-2 times a day instead of 5-6. And turns out we're going to moving in about a month, so I get to figure out how to pack up the whole house with a 2 year old who likes to follow behind me making messes 😂

How is everyone else?

MattyM5 · 06/08/2022 08:07

@2019Mama good on you for chasing up! Exactly the same happened to me, managed to get through yesterday and they said ‘oh sorry you must have slipped the system’ 😅. They didn’t give me an appointment but apparently sent a chaser to the relevant people. So not re-assuring.

Do we know if there are any negative consequences if you don’t have the first appointment within 10 weeks? Might get tight for me….

hol92 · 06/08/2022 08:20

Has anyone ever had an ultrasound as early as 6w 3 days? An appointment has become available today and I’m so tempted to take it! But I’m also worried it will be too early to see a heartbeat or anything and will end up making my anxiety worse 🙈 x

LittleAcorn20 · 06/08/2022 08:27

@hol92 had to have one 6+3 for bleeding but they tried normal ultrasound and ended up needing to do internal instead. Saw a heartbeat and everything that way.
Does the scan provider have both options?

Bobduncan · 06/08/2022 08:31

@hol92 I also had one at 6w +3 after bleeding and saw my little bean with a lovely heartbeat 💓 has definitely reassured me. I don't think you're always guaranteed to see a heartbeat at 6 weeks though xx

hol92 · 06/08/2022 08:47

That’s lovely 🥰 I actually think she only has external, I am going to try hold of a week and half for my 8 week scan, as hard as that is! Haha xx

havanamama · 06/08/2022 09:01

@JB2021 my NHS midwife booking appointment was around 6.5 weeks, but that’s due to medical condition. and my first scan was private

havanamama · 06/08/2022 09:02

My scan provider only did internal scans, but I went early in pregnancy and honestly you don’t really feel much at all. I’ve had internal ultrasounds before though for just regular checkups

havanamama · 06/08/2022 09:04

I’m in week 10 as of today 🥰 super happy and can’t wait for the next scan.
it’s the dating + screening scan, so a bit scary, but so far everything has been going perfectly

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 06/08/2022 09:04

Thank you @Babynum2 @LittleAcorn20 @Sandcastles24 - going to see GP on Monday. Xx

rach971 · 06/08/2022 09:18

@hol92 I had an external one at 6+4 and could see the heartbeat 🥰

hol92 · 06/08/2022 09:44

Oh it’s so tempting to get one now.. just for the bit of reassurance:) but the husband is saying we should just wait for the 8 weeks scan 🙈 it’s only just over a week but time is going so slow!

just writing a shopping list anyone else’s just consist of marmite, bread, potatoes and crisps 😂😂😂

cherrydropss · 06/08/2022 12:24

Is anyone around 9/10 weeks with subtle symptoms? Everyone seems to be so sick which is making me nervous! My boobs are sore, I'm fatigued and I've had the occasional bit of heartburn but that's about it. I'm 9+5 today

BlondePotter · 06/08/2022 12:28

Just had an early scan and was dated at 8w5 instead of 9w5... I don't think that's right though, I think he just found it harder to measure because I asked for abdominal instead of vaginal and I'm a bit fat 😆
Nice to see a heartbeat though

Cdoc · 06/08/2022 13:17

@cherrydropss i don’t have the sickness! Really thought I would as my mum and sister both had HG, I am getting bouts of afternoon nausea and definitely have food aversions (I don’t want anything healthy🤣) but otherwise like you it’s just fatigue and sore boobs with a bit of heartburn here and there! I’m 9+3 today as had a private scan this morning.

Hadn't let myself get into a group too soon as I had a mmc in May, so wanted to wait for today’s scan, but letting myself start to think it might happen now.

Hope everyone is feeling okay 💞
