Anyone usually like in jeans and finding them tight? I'm 8 weeks (5days) and jeans are tight but no bump to wear proper maternity jeans.

I lost a lot of weight the last few years and have enjoyed feeling good in clothes and already feeling a bit down. I'm not a dress person which seems to be many peoples go to option

Any suggestions.....

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 15:20

Edit - oh and I hate shopping!

Splashh · 07/08/2022 15:43

Haven’t worn my jeans in weeks, I could squeeze into them but so uncomfortable! Go for leggings, they’re a life saver - got mine from Asos & Zara online…

Babynum2 · 07/08/2022 15:45

@JB2021 i stopped wearing jeans a long time ago its all about the baggy clothes. Ive lost a stone since i found out i was pregnant yet my waist has most defo expanded.

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 15:47

@Splashh @Babynum2 I tend to wear jeans and tops everyday and going out. Plus black jeans for work with work polo short.

Leggings, I've not got any long/oversize tops

I was hoping jeggings might work

MattyM5 · 07/08/2022 17:41

@Mrs2022 Thanks for your reply, that is re-assuring ☺️ My scan isn’t until I’m 13+2, so still a week or so after my booking appointment so should be fine on that front. So I guess they do all the bloods etc at the scan rather than the first midwife appointment?

Well done @Perexi ! Weddings must be #1 worst scenario for early pregnancy 🤣 glad you made through it without a hitch

My brother got married when I was 6weeks pregnant- I hid it well re not drinking (Or being sick)
Until DP got v drunk and emotionally happy and blurted to everyone early hours- I was in bed!
Bfast was odd as most my family were looking at me smiling...., I didnt realise what had been told until we were leaving🤦‍♀️

dmb91 · 07/08/2022 17:51

Anyone else's stomach constantly doing somersaults?
I'm on anti sickness for the nausea and omeprazole for acid reflux (not pregnancy related)
I can hardly eat anything, I have diarrhoea most of the day, if I'm not on the toilet then I'm on the sofa or in bed. This is exhausting.
I'm only 6+2 and am have no idea how I'm going to get through this.

Any tips for settling the stomach? I'm meant to be working an 8 hour shift on my feet all day tomorrow 😫

I bought some under the bump maternity jeans from DTT on ASOS and they are perfect!
Just look like normal jeans with a stretchy waistband, but no higher than usual.
Feel like a total dream after squeezing in to my skinnies!

@havanamama I'll be finding out early, I think our local private scan place does it from 15 weeks. Although there's another one about a half an hour drive away that does gender blood tests from 6 weeks! They just take your blood, send it off and then you find out. Apparently 99.9% accurate!

Anyone hoping for a specific gender? I know the cliché is 'as long as it's healthy' but yeah. I have a daughter and from the beginning I've been convinced this one's a boy, no idea why. I won't be disappointed if it's a girl but it'll take me a little while to get my head around.

I have 2x of each, I've a gut feeling this baby is a boy.
I dont mind at all though I think I'd love a girl ( We've chosen names aready and I love our girls name🤣)
But ofcourse as long as healthy thats all that matters

9+2 today!

has anyone thought of doing the SneakPeak? Basically is anyone finding out the sex of the baby before the 20 week scan?

Hey,
We did SneakPeek at 10 weeks.
Not sure if it was worth it though as all I've done is question it since! Ha!
My partner is fully bought in, but some of the reviews have made me unlikely to buy anything or tell anybody until the scan anyway!

It did say we're having a girl, which seems to be the one least likely to be wrong! But still!

Well in my area we get bloods and scan all done on same day as booking / first midwife appointment. Then after that they refer us to the midwife associated with our gp surgery.

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 18:24

@botbump do you have a link? Did you buy your normal size or one up?

I wear jeans for work too. If I start not wearing jeans in life people will suspect!

www.asos.com/prd/23833152?acquisitionsource=pasteboard

I bought my normal size and they fit great!

Ahh snap! My uniform is skinny jeans and a top so it'd be a dead giveaway!

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 18:27

@botbump work wear is black jeans and polo, very rarely a dress.

Outside work it's jeans and a top either with converse or heels depending if day or night!

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 18:29

@botbump thanks for the link! Never heard of that brand - DTT.

They day bump to baby, surely they won't last full term given I'm only 8+5 weeks. Will order and see then can try vinted!

Bought Jeggings today but was too upset to try them today so that's tomorrows job!

@dmb91 eurgh yes, my stomach constantly feels unsettled. I don't have nausea as such, but I just don't feel right. I have to eat small meals otherwise it seems to get worse! Also getting based diahorrea 😳I'm 7 weeks, hopefully things start to calm down!

I hadn't heard of them either, but took a chance as they were in the sale and now have two pairs!

Yeah, I'm not sure they'd last to full term to be honest, unless you had very good tops. But for £18 I'd be happy to get a few months out of them and I'm sure they'd be worn in the weeks after birth too.
I'd probably want something over bump for later months.

Same on the clothing front. I wore a dress the day I went to tell my parents and they knew right away - despite it being super hot anyway!

JB2021 · 07/08/2022 18:34

@botbump glad it's not just me who lives in jeans!

Katlouise24 · 07/08/2022 20:09

Hi everyone, only just realised there's a new thread haha! How's everyone been recently. I must say I turn 9 weeks tomorrow and all I'm experiencing in nausea...ALL DAY LONG. I'm so exhausted, anyone else experiencing anything like this?

hol92 · 07/08/2022 20:37

@Katlouise24 also getting nausea all day it comes and goes but most of the time it’s there I just feel like I have a constant hangover 😂😂 I feel like I open my eyes and the wave on nausea hits 😂

Katlouise24 · 07/08/2022 20:40

@hol92 honestly I feel the exact same...it's even worse when I think about eating...which sucks because I'm constantly hungry😂😂

Markygirl1995 · 07/08/2022 21:49

Hey everyone, just wondered if anyones ever experienced the same?

im 8 weeks tomorrow although by scan Wednesday I’m 7+4 since my internal scan I’ve had blood in my CM on and off for the last 4 days now will call EPU tomorrow but looking for positive stories

I've had nausea on and off but it's not been too bad the last few days, then bam, tonight I feel super sick. It doesn't feel like a hangover/drunk feeling to me though it's just a sort of sicky feeling in the back of my throat

Rainbowbaby23 · 08/08/2022 00:04

Any experienced heat palpitations during these early stages? I know they are common later on but i seem to be getting them and its a bit worrying lol will definitely bring it up to my midwife
