@AK93 we do the same job. Mines a term time preschool and this six week holiday has been a godsend. I bow down to you, especially in the recent heat

Sometimes I wish I only did term time! I do a 4 day week but the days are so long the day off is usually spent trying to keep on top of housework etc but being too tired to 😆. We've not been allowed out in some temps at all and when it drops only for 20 minutes, we do have air con though which makes it more bearable so not too bad! Staff room does not have aircon and couldn't imagine working in that heat!

Other than the tiredness the worst part recently has been the fact there are some rather heavy handed little ones who do not understand that I do not want them running up to me plunging their hands onto my already sore boobs 🙈

JB2021 · 19/08/2022 07:26

Those of you who've had your 12 week scan (not private) at 10 or 11 weeks have you seen been able to see things and get good images?

Eastybaby19 · 19/08/2022 08:30

@JB2021 I had my 12 week on Wednesday I was 11+4 and we seen baby's arms and legs moving, could make out hands and feet even seen it open it's mouth and close!! Pretty incredible for how tiny they are!!

Eastybaby19 · 19/08/2022 08:32

@JB2021 those photos you can see baby rubbing it's eye with it's hand!! Hard to make out in photos but was pretty amazing to see on scan 🥰

JB2021 · 19/08/2022 08:32

@Eastybaby19 thank you. Mine is currently booked for 12+2 but wanting to move to the week before so will be anything from 10+6 to 11+2

I've just had a letter through with an appointment to see the consultant at 25 weeks!
I'm freaking out. Could it be simply down to my age as I'm now 38? So automatically classed as high risk? Or has something come back from my bloods last week and I've not been told yet?

I've never been under the consultant before, and don't know why I am this time. Any ideas? Will call my midwife in a bit but they don't open till 11

Hi it will likely be due to your age or any other health issues, if it was a problem with bloods they would ring and tell you to sort it sooner rather than later.

Did you previously have a csection as that automatically puts you under consultant care

Babynumberthreeee · 19/08/2022 13:00

@needingadviceearlypreg I had this with my second pregnancy. Have you looked at implantation bleeding? If you were due on your period sometimes you can bleed a bit as the hormones aren't strong enough to stop it.

Just to add my second pregnancy is now a mouthy 2 year old!

needingadviceearlypreg · 19/08/2022 14:34

Hello @Babynumberthreeee

Thanks for your reply. I had a look at implantation bleeding but as it mentioned spotting and what i had was a bit more than spotting i got worried. My period was 2 weeks late at the time i did see it can happen… i think up to 2 weeks later. Just not sure what to think.

Bet you wouldn’t change your 2 year old for the world lol ☺️

EMcG3 · 19/08/2022 14:37

@alotoftutus - heavy bleeding in my first birth means I am under consultant care. Certainly ask about it, but I would not take it to mean that there is any risk to your current pregnancy.

Lovely scan @GreenIsle congratulations 🎊

alotoftutus · 19/08/2022 19:26

@EMcG3 @GreenIsle @hellosunshineagainx thanks ladies. Couldn't get hold of the midwife today but have left a message so hopefully they get back to me.

No previous c sections or health problems, all very straight forward home births.
I've had a Google and it probably is simply down to the fact I am now classed as a geriatric mother 😩 Wish they would have given me a heads up though, it's made me all nervous today.

alotoftutus · 19/08/2022 19:26

@GreenIsle lovely scan I'm glad all is well :)

Gorgeous 🥰

havanamama · 19/08/2022 20:19

Heyhey! Nice to see all the cute scan pics 🥰! I had to leave this chat again as I just get too anxious when people start writing about their losses 🫠

I’m 11 weeks today, and got my 2nd scan soon as well :) can’t wait to see baby, been quite nauseous this week, hope baby will be measuring as it should.

EMcG3 · 19/08/2022 20:28

@alotoftutus - I had my first baby at 36 and asked a midwife if I was considered a geriatric pregnancy. She laughed and said "in London, you are not geriatric until you are over 40. You're still young!" Other ladies in different trusts who were the same age said that they were classed as geriatric, so I think it varies based on how much experience the hospital has with older women having pregnancies. Anyways, all this to to say, you may be geriatric where you are, but in my neighborhood you are still considered young!

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 19/08/2022 23:25

@alotoftutus i’m also on consultant pathway after previous normal births - midwife said this is due to my age (41) but I will likely get put back on midwife pathway once consultant reviews. Also said that 41 is not that old these days and she has plenty mid forties ladies having their first

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 20/08/2022 05:57

I'm consultant led too but I was for my last birth. I met a consultant at 36 weeks who mumbled big baby, induction, due dates under his mask and that was that 🤣

I'm consultant led again as my first was a 10lber

SunnieP · 20/08/2022 09:39

Hi everyone 👋I’m a newbie to mumsnet and not sure how I join or if I just write a post! So I’d thought I’d go for the latter! (Not sure if that’s how I do it so apologies if it’s the wrong way! 🙈) I’m 41 and 42 this year and it’s my 2nd pregnancy after a 16 year age gap (and 3 early miscarriages in-between) I’m a bag of nerves as things seem to have changed a lot since I was pregnant with my daughter! And I’m currently awaiting my 12 week scan and have been told I’ll be consultant led due to my age and miscarriages, I’m excited for my scan but nervous also as the midwife has explained about having a blood test at the scan and something I don’t remember having with my daughter (I’m sure I must have done but my memory isn’t what it was!) so I thought if I join here it will help in knowing what is going on in the world of being pregnant in 2022! Thanks everyone 😊xx

Perexi · 20/08/2022 10:09

Lovely seeing everyone's scan pictures 😍

My symptoms seem to have suddenly lifted, like a fog has disappeared! I'm only 8 and a bit weeks though so hopefully all ok!

Actually managed to go for a decent walk this morning without feeling sick or desperate for a nap 😂

Congrats @SunnieP

Jholli · 20/08/2022 11:08

8 weeks 2 nosebleeds in this last week with mouth clots?! What the heck
midwife said this is because I’m pregnant
is that right?

Jholli · 20/08/2022 11:17

It’s really worrying me
