@hol92 booking appointment for me was face to face and about an hour. They then sent my details to hospital and I'm waiting for a letter with 12 week scan date but think this varies how areas do it

dmb91 · 15/08/2022 14:17

@hol92 my booking appointment took about two hours but I did need numerous loo breaks and they struggled to get blood out of me. I got my scan appointment through on the app a couple of days later followed by a letter

LittleAcorn20 · 15/08/2022 14:27

@Babynum2 oooh ok thank you. I've read it's safest prescribed past 12 weeks, but I'm 11+2 and I'm really struggling so I think I'll just take the risk.
Have you found anything that works for you? Or still really suffering?

Rainbowbaby23 · 15/08/2022 13:58

time for me to stop worrying🙈 scan was perfect and they said everything was looking good and reassuring no problems

@Rainbowbaby23 that's great everything went well. The reassurance is great. I slept sound last night after having my scan yesterday knowing all was good! So nice to see the wee heart beat flickering away

JB2021 · 15/08/2022 12:16

Those of you who have got your first/12 week scans booked in, how many actual weeks are you when you have them. Know the NHS site says 10 to 14 weeks.

I'll be 14 weeks for mine 😩

JB2021 · 15/08/2022 15:31

@hellosunshineagainx oh no, such a wait. I just want mine, to know all is OK then get things out in the open! Which area are you in?

Cambridgeshire, I'm having to travel half an hour for it too as my local hospital is too booked up. Worlds away from my 2019 experience bit worried about how the rest of my care is going to be

Perexi · 15/08/2022 15:44

I have my booking appointment next week so am hoping after that I will hear about the first scan! Time is dragging, I'm not great with unknowns and just want to know everything is all ok 😂

Same, I'm 9 weeks but known since three weeks (short cycles) so fed up!

Rainbowbaby23 · 15/08/2022 16:40

we have our booking app and first scan all at the same time here in Belfast. Still no sign of mines yet

Same op, wonder why England do booking appointments first which last hours then scans weeks later. They could do both at same time which ultimately saves time and ensure pregnant is progressing before all the paperwork is filled in.

Babynumberthreeee · 15/08/2022 17:05

@GreenIsle I've always wondered this!! They just take your word for it that you're pregnant. So bizarre!

@Thirdtimesacharm3 I haven't told mine and won't until I know everything is ok. We nearly didn't bring our 2nd home and I couldn't imagine having to try and explain that, which is why there wasn't supposed to be a number 3 😳 but fate decided otherwise!

amylee1817 · 15/08/2022 18:39

@Rainbowbaby23 so happy for you! Try and relax now

TeddyBeans · 15/08/2022 18:54

@Rainbowbaby23 I'm pleased for you! It's quite common to get growing pains as things start to stretch but nothing is as reassuring as seeing your little one on a scan ❤️

@LittleAcorn20 oooh I'll have a look at that book, DS loves a story. Thank you!

@JB2021 I'll be 12+2 according to my private scan date, 12 weeks on the dot by the midwife's reckoning at my booking appointment and 12+1 based on all the online calculators that go by LMP 🤷‍♀️

muminlndn · 15/08/2022 19:42

I'm 9 weeks today, 3 weeks until my scan! It doesn't sound like too long, but if I think back to 6 weeks it feels more like 3 months ago than 3 weeks ago 😬
The weather has just been constant heat in London for weeks. Rain forecast a few times but only had a tiny bit of rain once - looking forward to predicted thunderstorms on wednesday!

Bobduncan · 15/08/2022 19:57

Eurgh yes @muminlndn bring on the London showers! The heat is oppressive. I'm only 8w, but feel bad for those lovely mummas who are much further along and have big bumps to carry around!

Perexi · 15/08/2022 21:02

Finally raining in London! The last few days have been tough as the heat does not help with the nausea!

Babynum2 · 15/08/2022 21:42

Im back in hospital with my HP unfortunatley its been nearly 6 days without food so hopefully i will be feeling better soon. Only upside is the aircon!

TeddyBeans · 15/08/2022 21:44

@Babynum2 sounds tough! Hope you feel better soon

alotoftutus · 15/08/2022 21:48

@Perexi I'm just outside of London - we've been expecting rain all day but haven't had so much as a drizzle. Hoping for a cooler night tonight.

@Babynum2 so sorry you are still suffering. HG is the absolute worst thing ever (had it with my 3rd). Hopefully fluids will help you for a bit........ and air con - I would almost almost wish HG on myself to get some air con lol

alotoftutus · 15/08/2022 21:54

Those of your not suffering with being sick can I ask about weight gain? Twin mums too.

I'm gaining about 1lbs a week and it seems excessive. I'm wondering if I'm having multiples because I've never put that much weight on before especially so early on (im 9 weeks today).

Usually I only put on about 24lbs in total but the way things are going it will be double that.

Im not being sick at all (feel it but not being) not not eating much at all because I just don't fancy it and when I do my portions are the size of my 4 year olds 🤷🏽‍♀️

Should I be worried?

hol92 · 16/08/2022 07:22

I have my booking appt today and I have woken up not feeling any where near as nauseas as I have in the past two weeks, basically not nauseas, and it’s really made me panic and it’s given me a gut feeling something is going wrong, has anyone else had this? X I am 8 weeks x

yorkshiremumofone · 16/08/2022 07:28

@hol92 yeahhh I go for a couple of days feeling ok then a few days Feeling crap!! I'm guessing it's normal! I'm 8 + 6. I constantly freak out! Xx
