😩😩 I'm coming on to feel sorry for myself. Anyone want to join me in a self pity moan?

Feel absolutely awful tonight. So sick and so hot. Husband has gone away on a work trip until next weekend so it's just me and the 4 kiddies.
I am so exhausted by 2pm I can just about function and then by 5pm the nausea starts - just when it's time to make dinner. House is just a state. Managed to give the kitchen a proper clean today so that's one thing ticked off the list but I can not keep up with all the house stuff on my own when I feel so rubbish.

Just had to order a food shop and god only knows what we will be eating this week. Everything I looked at made me want to be sick. I don't fancy anything so choosing a weeks worth of food took forever.

Hurry up 2nd trimester and Autumn!

Babynumberthreeee · 14/08/2022 22:00

@alotoftutus I really feel for you. I haven't done anything the last few days so you're 1 up on me cleaning the kitchen! It's summer holidays. Just throw snacks at them at random points 😅😅

I only have 2 but definitely get the 4pm slump when I need to be cooking dinner, and witching hour of Overtiredness hits in. Kitchen is still a mess. Poor Dh has been working crazy hours and also had to be supporting me with the kids (I know how that sounds written down but he's currently working 14 hour physical shifts) plus then having to walk the dog, do the weekly shop. I do feel guilty.

@Mrs2022 i actually work in maternity myself and I know the staff and they aren’t willing to scan me until Wednesday. I ended up booking one for tomorrow at window to the womb instead so fingers crossed🤞🏻

@Rainbowbaby23 good luck for tomorrow! 😊

Rainbowbaby23 · 14/08/2022 22:47

@Mrs2022 thankyou:)

Jholli · 14/08/2022 23:39

I’m feeling awful
nausea constantly
I can’t even tidy my house the dishwasher smell is disgusting. The washing up is too hard to manage and the smell of the Hoover makes me want to chuck up with the air blowing towards me 😷 I’m at the end of my tether only 8 weeks tomorrow

Thirdtimesacharm3 · 15/08/2022 08:58

@Babynumberthreeee haven’t told kids yet.. def want to get through 12 week scan first! What about you? Going back to newborn stage after 5.5 years is a bit intimidating but just want to make a real effort to enjoy it and be in the moment this time (hopefully will get a chance to as other two will be in school) xx

TeddyBeans · 15/08/2022 09:40

@Rainbowbaby23 personally I wouldn't have two scans a day apart

@Thirdtimesacharm3 we're waiting til Thursday (12 week scan) to tell DS and then we're going to take him with us to a private gender scan at 16 weeks cuz I think it's a bit of an abstract thing to get your head around at age 4

So exciting your 12 week scan is so soon @TeddyBeans. Mine is a week Wednesday! I'll be more like 12+4 based on a scan I had at 10 weeks.
We are excited to tell our 2 year old although she definitely will think it's a bizarre concept and probably not get it. I'm ordering a book called 'There's a House Inside My Mummy' which looks really cute and explains it nicely.
@Babynum2 I know you have had ondansetron, anyone else? I was prescribed a short course of it a couple of weeks ago and told it can cause birth defects. I've just been prescribed it again as back to vomiting and off work. Some docs seem to think it's no problem, as does my midwife. And I will take it because the doc this morning said the risk of being so sick and dehydrated in this hot weather outweighs the risk of the defects, but I can't help feel nervous. Just hoping for any reassurance from anyone who's taken it.

Rainbowbaby23 · 15/08/2022 10:43

@TeddyBeans Yeah in going to go to the scan today and if everything is okay ill csncel my appointment with epu:)

LittleAcorn20 · 15/08/2022 11:16

@Rainbowbaby23 sending positive vibes for the scan xx

JB2021 · 15/08/2022 12:16

Those of you who have got your first/12 week scans booked in, how many actual weeks are you when you have them. Know the NHS site says 10 to 14 weeks.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 15/08/2022 12:22

@JB2021 I've got mine 13th September, I should be around 11+2

@JB2021 I've got mine at 11+4 going by lmp although I had Early scan yesterday and it was measuring me at 7+1 instead of what I thought was 8+2

JB2021 · 15/08/2022 13:02

Due to have mine at 12+1, request to have week before but they seemed reluctant. Just got to wait and see so thought I'd ask when others have got theirs

dmb91 · 15/08/2022 13:04

@JB2021 my scan is 24th August, I'll be 17+3 by lmp, I think I'll be 8+6

JB2021 · 15/08/2022 13:05

@dmb91 17+3? For your 12 week scan?

dmb91 · 15/08/2022 13:08

@JB2021 I have long irregular cycles so it isn't at all accurate. My booking appointment was 13+3 according to lmp. This was the earliest scan I was offered 🤷‍♀️

Babynum2 · 15/08/2022 13:09

@LittleAcorn20 i was only on it for 3 days because it didnt improve me at all so i went back to the cyclizine. I think the birth defects is before 10 weeks they said to me.

Eastybaby19 · 15/08/2022 13:32

@JB2021 I have my 12 week scan & booking appt this Wednesday at 11+3 super nervous!! 🙏

My original letter was booked for 13+6!
However, I was measuring ahead at a private scan so called and asked to move it and they have me booked in this Thursday when I'll be 12+6.

allthingssparkly · 15/08/2022 13:57

@Mrs2022 I will have my NHS 12 week scan when I'm 12w4d at the end of this month 😊

allthingssparkly · 15/08/2022 13:58

Sorry @Mrs2022 was supposed to tag @JB2021 in the above 🙈

Rainbowbaby23 · 15/08/2022 13:58

time for me to stop worrying🙈 scan was perfect and they said everything was looking good and reassuring no problems

hol92 · 15/08/2022 14:12

glad all went well 🥰 I have my booking appointment tomorrow, I just wondered how long everyone else’s took? Just so I can give work an estimated time, also is this when they would book your 12 week scan in? :) x
