@hol92 im with you i have been having bread, bread and more bread. Everyday is the same thing i dont even keep it down but just cant stand smells or textures at the moment i really hope it passes we go away in 6 weeks and i want some spanish food!

hol92 · 10/08/2022 18:13

@Babynum2 bless you, see I’m not actually being sick much just this constant nausea and gagging! But I just don’t know what to eat as I know it’s meant to be better to my I’m gagging at everything, oh my god same 😂😂 I also go to Spain in 4 weeks me and my husband love food so much he can’t understand how I’ve just gone off everything haha!

LittleAcorn20 · 10/08/2022 19:07

@hol92 crackers with dairylea spread on them, cornflakes without milk, hula hoops, apples, plain pasta with a bit of butter. Are all ok.
I went through a phase of being ok eating sliced tomato and mozzarella because the mozarella is quite bland but im off that again. Crumpets with a bit of thinly sliced mild cheddar.
It's like being a baby! I'm going out for a nice afternoon tea on Saturday and really hoping I can stomach some of it 😩

muminlndn · 10/08/2022 20:20

I've stocked up on those tomato & mozzarella tortelloni for when I cant stomach much, prepping food is worse than eating it for me and they only take 2 mins in a saucepan. Jacket potato & tuna or beans has also been good sometimes.

Can anyone recommend a private scan place in central/NW london? The only ones that I've found are £££

Splashh · 10/08/2022 21:01

@muminlndn we go to Numi scan, bit pricey but they have some packages e.g. buy 2 get 1 free

I'm North London and they all see to be 70 to 80 quid that i have found....we said if the atoms cramps continue we would pay it but they have eased off the last day or two which I'm hoping is a good thing (basically second guessing everything at the moment!)

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 10/08/2022 21:10

@hol92 the nausea is exhausting! I’ve found basically any cooked food smells sets me off so most cold foods are okay, at the minute I’m living on plain white bread and chicken sandwiches!

Perexi · 10/08/2022 21:13

I've only had waves of queasiness so far which is lucky although I'm very late march so behind most in this group. Foodwise I cannot deal with chicken and most meat unless really processed! Lot's of fruit and vegetables and all the carb's are still sitting well but expect that will change ar some point.

alotoftutus · 10/08/2022 21:24

My nausea has started to kick in this week. I'm still not being sick but feel horrendous especially by the evenings. Currently laying on the living room floor tossing and turning and moaning.

Random but if anyone has a popular ish Instagram account window to the womb often do collaborations so you can get a free scan :) you don't need hundreds of thousands of followers they work with fairly small accounts.

It's also worth looking on groupon they do scan discounts all the time xxx

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 21:25

@Perexi i think that price is pretty normal we have always paid around that. Window to the womb we use but we are in surrey so not sure any near you.

Food wise with the HG i cannot stomach anything saucy, smelly, watery, or strong so basically im eating plain crusty bread, rich tea biccys, water and boiles sweets no exageration my body hasnt seen anything green in weeks!!

Yeah I kind of thought it would be! It's our first so definitely had no idea, I'm just 7 Weeks and we said we would try to hold off for now but if we think it will help with nerves we would do it....

Would just be nice to know it's all ok but I know it's super early days, it just feels like we have known forever 😂

You poor thing with HG it sounds so full on, hopefully will ease off soon!

BlondePotter · 10/08/2022 21:49

Also there with the plain food, having a cheesy crumpet most days, cereal, mash, pasta - if it's beige I'll eat it 😆 have gone off meat too though I did just eat an amazing Fillet o Fish 🙈😂
I feel like this time I'll get really fat but then it'll be my last child so I have loads of time to get in shape right?

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 22:22

@Perexi If your going to book i would book for 8 weeks as i saw much more then than i did at the 2 scans before that. The midwife said because i didnt have HG in previous pregnancies i have higher chance of it going at around 14 weeks, 3 and a half weeks to go!

@BlondePotter oh isnt it horrid i wish i could eat cheese its my fav. I dont like cereal because i dont like milk although i should try eat some dry as i need something for the constipation! If you do put on a bit of weight its all baby related so you can just get it off after. I was extremley overweight for my height after my last baby 3 years ago (5ft2 weighing 14 and half stone) and i joint slimming world i lost 3 stone it was the best thing ive ever followed as ive still kept it off now.

Noodle20 · 10/08/2022 23:16

Oh I'm with you all with this nausea. It's constant at the moment. I gag at the sight or smell of everything and am basically living off white bread either as toast or with a slice of processed ham. It's hydration that's getting me tho in this heat. I can't stomach any liquids. I can manage a cold glass of milk but that's about it. I really need to drink more but the smallest sip sets me off. I'm almost 11 weeks so hoping to be on the other side of it soon as never felt like this with my first

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 23:22

@Noodle20 have you tried ice poles/ice?

I think we will probably find out. I have two boys and two girls already and I found out with 3 out of 4 of them. With number 3 - (the surprise) I was convinced he was a boy so much that it didn't feel like a surprise when he was born anyway lol.

It takes me a stupidly long time to name my babies so knowing the gender early helps lol. Plus I need to have a clear out of baby and kids clothes so would like to know what I need to keep.

I like the idea of a surprise but having done both I think I prefer knowing in advance.

I have 2 of each too!
I found out with last 2 what we were having,
First was a surprise, 2nd we couldnt find out as baby had crossed pegs each time but strong feeling it was a boy and I was right!

Cats23 · 11/08/2022 00:14

I have my booking appt on 18th Aug!
We live in a really small area and tge midwife, who I know, has kindly suggested I meet her at the MLU rather than local GP ( Everyone knows everyone!)
Ive always been able to have an early scan but our EPU only you to be seen with severe cramps and blood now, Which I Understand- Nearest private scan place is 2hrs away- Im only just 7 weeks, 12 weeks is so far away!
Nausea has set in hard last few days ( Ive suffered HG with all previous pregnancies!)
Ive gone off tea, ham, coffee and Tomato sauce (& any other sauces!) This is when I know that HG is likely on way- I hope Im wrong!
Not sure how long I can hold off telling my mum and Sister- Its been about 8 weeks before but I really want our DC to know first this time!
Also, does anyone suffer with 'peeling skin' on hands? I alwayd have in pregnancy- Not sore, so moisturisers help!

Cats23 · 11/08/2022 00:16

should read NO moisturisers help!

Noodle20 · 11/08/2022 01:29

@Babynum2 no I haven't, it's def worth a try when I'm at home tho. There's no freezers at work so I'm screwed there

hol92 · 11/08/2022 06:22

@Cats23 I’m also just 7 weeks and also have my appt on 18th, I have gone of absolutely everything! Apart from bread really and I love food, just reading that you said this happened to you before HG I keep forgetting how early 7 weeks is, at the moment I just have very bad nausea but keep wondering if it will turn to sickness, my mum was really bad with all 4 of us. Did anyone else start of nausea and then turn to sickness later ? X

Crumpets is one I haven’t tried yet, might go for them with marmite! X

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 11/08/2022 06:59

@Cats23 I suffer badly with hand eczema, I find the best creams for super dry hands are cetraben cream and the red top Neutrogena hand cream. Alternate between the two and they should be grand again in no time :)

Whydotheyallhaverubbishwheels · 11/08/2022 07:00

Oh god I can't even read the names of food on here 🙈 Im so sensitive about food I just have to eat what I fancy at that moment in time. I don't even really like bread. I'm well into nectarines this week.

C99 · 11/08/2022 10:21

Hi all thought id join in! Im roughly 9 weeks pregnant:) so far not alot of symptoms and I can’t wait until my 12 week scan!

is anyone else doing this alone? Me and the father had split up when i decided I would keep the pregnancy although he did say he would support me however but looks like ill be doing much of this alone!

Babynum2 · 11/08/2022 17:15

@hol92 my HG kicked in straight away i was sick before i even took a test and still going strong now week 11.

June628 · 11/08/2022 18:02

Hi, can I join please?
I haven’t had a chance to catch up on the previous thread or this one but just wanted to place mark and say hello.
I am 10 weeks pregnant, estimated due date 7th March. No one knows yet about from my DH so it’s just nice to say it! Suffering really badly with nausea and sickness, have had some cyclizine prescribed today by GP which I will go pick up tomorrow. Anyone had any success with it?
hope everyone is well and eagerly awaiting their new arrivals!
