@allthingssparkly We're not going to find out but I'll be damned if i'm not going to look at every old wives tale or scan theories to try and work it out 😂a friend of mine swears by the chinese gender calendar, which says we're having a girl... DH is convinced it's a girl but I think it's a boy!

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 11:10

That's so exciting waiting until birth @AGirlsNameIsAryaStark I wish I could hold out but honestly I can't 🙈 I did the ramzi theory via the nub techs and got my report back they're 75% confident with their answer. I have two boys and I'm sure this little one is a boy too, I won't believe the sonographer or anyone who says my 3rd is a girl until I see in the flesh 😆😆😆😆😆

Pinkcloud5 · 10/08/2022 11:14

Hi all, haven’t posted since I first found I’m pregnant as I’ve been feeling so anxious. Have my 12 week scan on Monday, anyone has theirs next week? Any 2nd time mums to be have tips to ease the pre scan anxiety? Up until now I’ve had every symptom going especially non stop nausea but it still hasn’t helped me feel better that everything is more than likely ticking along.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 10/08/2022 11:41

@allthingssparkly Part of me wanted to find out but then i felt like the second i knew i'd wish i waited, and DH is adamant he doesn't want to know either. I've tried doing the ramzi theory myself (we had an early scan at 6 weeks) but i can't find where the placenta is, did you try doing yours yourself?

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 11:48

@AGirlsNameIsAryaStark I didn't do it my self no, I sent my 9w1d scan picture to The Nub Techs and they came back with a report on what sex they thought, based on the ramzi theory. I am temped to do the nub theory one too, once I've had my 12 week scan. Intrigued to know whether both theory's will say the same sex or different. If you Google The Nub Techs their website will come up they're on Instagram too and interested. When I went for my scan the sonographer showed me where my placenta was developing and it is in exactly the same place as where The Nub Techs have documented as in my report 😊

alotoftutus · 10/08/2022 11:51

I think we will probably find out. I have two boys and two girls already and I found out with 3 out of 4 of them. With number 3 - (the surprise) I was convinced he was a boy so much that it didn't feel like a surprise when he was born anyway lol.

It takes me a stupidly long time to name my babies so knowing the gender early helps lol. Plus I need to have a clear out of baby and kids clothes so would like to know what I need to keep.

I like the idea of a surprise but having done both I think I prefer knowing in advance.

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 12:05

@alotoftutus did you feel different in your pregnancies with your boys to your girls? 😊 I definitely feel like I need to know in advance to be organised 🙈

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 10/08/2022 12:08

@allthingssparkly Ahh it's so tempting but I think DH would kill me 😂i completely forgot to ask where my placenta was when we had the scan but going back in a few weeks so i'll try and remember this time! How long have you got to wait until your 12 week scan?

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 12:10

My scan isn't until 30th Aug @AGirlsNameIsAryaStark 😬😬 don't want to wish time away or anything but I want it to hurry up 😆

BlondePotter · 10/08/2022 12:13

@allthingssparkly no, we had a surprise with my girl so I think we will do another surprise again! I'd like another girl but then it would also be nice to have one of each.
It gave me a bit of strength on the final push because I wanted to know if it was a boy or girl 😂

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 12:17

Surprises are wonderful @BlondePotter😍 I'm just too impatient 😆 1 of each would be perfect, I have two boys 👦 and I'm sure that this little one is going to be another boy but my ramzi theory report says otherwise 😮 cannot wait to peice all my scans together and find out if it's actually true!

Rainbowbaby23 · 10/08/2022 12:35

Gave in and went for an early scan today!
baby measuring exactly 9 weeks with a good heartbeat!!

LittleAcorn20 · 10/08/2022 12:50

Waiting for a surprise here too 🥰
We had a surprise with our daughter and it was so lovely to find out right at the moment of birth and also like others have said helped me push through labour more I reckon!
Boy would be first grandson on both sides so that'd be sweet but I am used to having a daughter and would be excited to get all the old clothes down from the loft again ☺️
Anyone else waiting for a surprise when you get to the clothes buying stage, Matalan and Lindex do the best gender neutral stuff I found 😁

dmb91 · 10/08/2022 13:06

We're not going to find out, I keep telling DP that I think there's two in there, a girl and a boy, he thinks there is just a boy.
Pregnancy is horrific and I won't be doing it again so this is it!

BlondePotter · 10/08/2022 13:32

@dmb91 are you having an early scan to see if it's twins?

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 10/08/2022 13:37

@LittleAcorn20 not going to lie i'm secretly hoping for a girl, all the pretty pink clothes are so much cuter than the boys stuff 😂

@dmb91 do twins run in your families at all?

alotoftutus · 10/08/2022 13:54

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 12:05

Not at all to be honest.

I was the least sick with my first - a boy, and the most sick with my third - also a boy lol so I don't think that's anything to go by. By bumps weren't really any different, I carried the neatest with my 1st - boy and 4th - girl, I put on more weight and bump seemed to spread around to my back with my 2nd and 3rd - girl and boy - basically I can't help guess at all lol

alotoftutus · 10/08/2022 14:00

I have my booking appointment for this Friday.
Apparently they do half of the appointment over the phone. I don't know if this is a covid thing or how they've always done it here (I've recently moved to a new area) but it seems strange.
They then book the face to face part for a week or 2 later. However I'm away for the next two weeks - well my husbands away next week for work so I have no childcare, and we are all away the following week, so the midwife has booked my face to face earlier than usual just a few hours after my phone appointment so it's done before 10 weeks.

It's also in a children's centre which I also find strange. I've only ever had booking appointments at the hospital as they take your blood. Hope they don't send me to do that separately- can't imagine they just take it in the hall of the children's clinic.

AGirlsNameIsAryaStark · 10/08/2022 14:11

@alotoftutus My booking appointment is at a childrens centre too, this is my first though so I thought that might be normal! From the looks of their website they hold a midwife clinic there so I'm hoping I won't have to go to the hospital as well.

dmb91 · 10/08/2022 14:19

@BlondePotter @AGirlsNameIsAryaStark
I have my dating scan on 24th august, I think I will be 9 weeks but due to very long cycles they think I will be 17weeks as lmp was in April 😂
DPs dad is an identical twin, no twins on my side. I don't think twins go down the male side of families? But it's what I keep telling myself to justify just how ill I am 🤦‍♀️

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 14:37

@allthingssparkly

I am desperate to know we have a girl and boy. Partner wants a girl i dont mind this time to be honest. My client has told me you can find out from 8 weeks via a blood test? Never knew about this

allthingssparkly · 10/08/2022 14:39

Yes I have heard about the sneak peak blood test you can have done, I don't want to spend a fortune on finding out the gender so early though I'd rather try and wait it out for my 12/20 week scan even though it seems like ages off 🤭 have you got children already @Babynum2? X

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 15:08

@allthingssparkly yes i have 9yo girl (wanted a boy) and 3yo boy (wanted a girl so i had 2 of them). I think it would be a lot easier for me to have another boy now with age, sharing room and having bits left over from last time but im happy with whatever this is our miracle baby.🙂

We've actually done this.
However, I don't trust it enough to commit and tell anybody or plan accordingly 😅 at the moment, it's just won me a dinner in the bet between us but had no other perks. Probably broken even on the cost of dinner though so can't complain.

I'm interested to see if it's right though. I'd be very pleased!

hol92 · 10/08/2022 17:34

Anyone else got nausea all Day long? I’ve just been eating toast and potatoes and am making yet more potatoes for dinner tonight and the though if eating them is making me feel sick! Basically looking for bland food ideas that help with nausea 😂😂😂 x
