@rach971 I had to have surgical management yesterday as mine got stuck, they have sent it off for testing and will be cremating it and putting the ashes in a garden at the hospital, if you manage to get it you can take it to the hospital and they will should do it too, you can choose out of cremation, burial or doing your own thing, but if you get it tested to see what went wrong it might give you some comfort xx

rach971 · 09/08/2022 15:25

@Kt12344 I'm sorry to hear that :( How would I even go about getting it tested? Do you need to go down the surgical route for that to be an option? I didn't think they did that until you'd had numerous MC's to be honest. How many weeks were you? Sorry, I know you've probably posted about it but I've scrolled back and can't see anything and my head is mashed at the moment so I can't really remember who's said what now 😩 Thank you for just talking about it, it's nice just being able to talk ♥️

Kt12344 · 09/08/2022 15:28

@rach971 I haven't really posted about it, just can add me on facebook if you want and I'll tell you what happened, we were speaking on there before, I think it might cause a bit of anxiety for others reading it that's all xx

rach971 · 09/08/2022 15:46

@Kt12344 Thank you, I've just sent you a quick DM on here because I've left the FB group now so won't be able to find you 😩

Franklin321 · 09/08/2022 15:46

@rach971 im so sorry to hear your news, it’s very sad. I’m currently pregnant after 3 losses (1 before my son who’s 2 in dec, 2 since having him) so understand…trying again is so difficult but for me it was something I just couldn’t not do. There’s a lot of support online, I found chats here for pregnancy after loss where everyone is in the same boat plus the miscarriage association has loads of info, a helpline and a forum for others in the same situation!

it’s a terrible group to be part of but I’ve always found others who get it and are v supportive!

rach971 · 09/08/2022 15:51

@Franklin321 Thank you so much, that's good to hear that there's hope. I've just posted something on the MC page on here ♥️ Did you ever find out why you had your losses? I suppose it's not something you often find out I guess. It's just hard and frustrating I guess x

Kt12344 · 09/08/2022 15:54

@rach971 I didn't realise you could message on here, how do I find it x

rach971 · 09/08/2022 16:00

@Kt12344 On mine there's like a little icon in the top right that's like a person, and you click that and then select 'private messages' ♥️

@rach971 I’m so sorry xx please take the time you need to grieve and do whatever you need to do.

I am 9+5 after a loss at 9+3 in May so I completely understand how scary it feels to go through it all again. It doesn’t get much easier to be honest, I think the loss probably robs us of any enjoyment or excitement in the first trimester. I’m just focusing on how worth it it will be. I have no other children so for me the desperation to have a baby overruled the anxiety of it happening again ♥️

Franklin321 · 09/08/2022 16:07

@rach971 no and I was just about to start testing under the recurrent miscarriage clinic when I fell pregnant with this one! I think it’s something like 75% of miscarriages there’s no reason found (like a health issue with mum) and they put it down to chromosome issues!

rach971 · 09/08/2022 16:12

@Cdoc Thank you so much. I'm so happy everything is going well for you ♥️ Did you start trying again fairly soon afterwards, or?

@Franklin321 That's very true. I know mostly it is due to chromosome issues, and the fact that I had an absolutely okay pregnancy with my daughter makes me think hopefully there's no health issues with me, but it was 7/8 years ago so. I just hope all goes well for us next time and I'll just have to cross my fingers and be patient I guess 😩

rach971 · 09/08/2022 16:19

@Franklin321 Sorry I meant hope all goes well for you this time, and well for me next time. Definitely not thinking straight rn 🙈

Hopingforarainbow27 · 09/08/2022 16:19

@rach971 I'm so sorry to hear this. I have had four losses and never found any cause. I'm currently pregnant again (10weeks). I can't say it gets easier each pregnancy. Every day feels like a week but I can say you will feel better soon 💞

Cdoc · 09/08/2022 16:29

@rach971 thank you 💞 we did start right away and actually I didn’t have a period after my miscarriage, we caught the first ovulation (it was quite a bit later than usual). That isn’t right for everyone, a few people said to me mentally they couldn’t think about trying again straight away, but I was desperate to be pregnant again. Sending you lots of ♥️

LittleAcorn20 · 09/08/2022 19:58

@rach971 so sorry to hear your sad news. Take care of yourself xxx

hol92 · 09/08/2022 20:11

@rach971 I’m so sorry to hear this , sending you lots of love xxx

Charlothevet88 · 09/08/2022 21:46

@rach971 You asked if anyone had become pregnant after a loss earlier... well, im about 7 weeks and 2 days into a pregnancy that was conceived just one week after I miscarried at 6 weeks. Don't worry- I'm sure it'll happen for you again some time soon <3 x

Splashh · 09/08/2022 22:22

@rach971 so sorry to hear and 🙏🏽 it works out next time.

I've been through a few - had 2 chemical mc and 1 missed mc at 11 weeks but the baby stopped growing at 7/8 weeks. Happy to take it offline and save the gory details!

I did find out what was causing it. In a nutshell, after the MMC we decided we wouldn't try again without investigating the issues. I know some people just get unlucky but I couldn't go through the emotional and physical pain of a third mc. We begged my doctor to refer me on, they eventually agreed to do some blood tests and if anything came up they could then refer me on. Found out I have anti-phospholipid syndrome (APS) which is apparently one of leading causes of recurrent miscarriage and also have anti Ro antibodies. I was then seen by St. Thomas' in London who have leading clinic for autoimmune/heamotology/ thrombosis conditions that impact pregnancy and now am on a treatment plan.

I also found out that my thyroid was out of whack (was already under treatment for hypothyroidism) and high TSH is also associated with early mc.

Lots of things to consider and there's no one size fits all, but that's my experience. So far this preg seems much better than the last, no spotting whatever touch wood (had that with the mmc) and we've had 6 & 8 week positive scans. My advice is push to investigate and go private for testing if you afford it.

Babynum2 · 10/08/2022 07:44

@Splashh another here with APS!

@rach971 very sorry for your loss, i had a missed misscarriage at 6 weeks and then 6 weeks later was pregnant again that pregnancy is now a bouncing 9 year old!

I had my first antenatal app today and it felt like the most pointless thing ever. Went in sat down she looked at previous notes and my booking app answers told me i cant have epidural due to my clexane (bit early to be discussing that i think) and then just said when i go into labour come straight in dont wait at home? Feel like this could have neen said at a later date. Back again next week for another appointment!

Wow, thank you, this definitely gives me hope ♥️

rach971 · 10/08/2022 08:36

Thank you so much everyone for your comments, all made me feel better and I really appreciate you all replying 🥰🥰♥️♥️

rach971 · 10/08/2022 08:40

@Splashh well done you on pushing them to investigate and not giving up. I'm hoping because I've had one successful pregnancy previously that nothing is wrong. I've had a full blood test done within the last year for other reasons and nothing was found on that so 🤞 Think we'll try once more and hope for the best. If that doesn't work out we might start looking to see if anything is wrong. We're not the healthiest eaters so did wonder about the sperm/egg quality but both going to try and eat better

Kayleehawkes · 10/08/2022 10:38

@rach971 sorry for your loss 😭 I had a MMC at 8 weeks in Feb. It was very traumatic experience and I had a surgical removal after failed procedure. My cycle was all over the place so it took me another 5 months to get pregnant. I found reading success stories really helpful and at first was anxious about talking about it but it really does help. I hope you get your rainbow 🌈 soon 💕

Franklin321 · 10/08/2022 10:38

First scan with EPU this morning, happy little bean measuring 1-2 days ahead 😍 almost 9 weeks now! Another scan in 2 weeks but so far so good!
