Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Hi all, can I join? 😊

Got a BFP on the 31st July after a MC in June. Due date is 9th April.

DP and I have been TTC DC2 for 3 years this month so very cautiously excited. Got an early scan booked in for a week today and have loads of anxiety about it but trying to stay rational and just celebrate that as of right now, I've managed to get pregnant!

How is everyone feeling this evening?

Skylark1990 · 11/08/2022 21:34

Thanks @Sunnyxo and @Wouldloveanother and everyone else. I am feeling pretty down tonight, super worried it's ectopic, went down a right Google rabbit hole searching about symptoms. Not a good idea as they all seem to be different. I'm in bed now having an early night so the scan in morn comes quickly. 😩🤞 It would be such horrible horrible luck if this was ectopic after my 3 losses this year already. Trying to remain calm and remember there are lots of valid reasons for pain on one side and slim chances of an ectopic but once the fear sets in its hard to shake 😔🤦‍♀️

@ActualMermaid I found out on 31st too, and had a MC in June as well 💔❤️ did you have a period in between? Congratulations and welcome!! X

xttcbabyno1x · 11/08/2022 21:49

@Skylark1990 I just thought I'd let you know I feel exactly the same re ectopic, I keep having a little niggle on the right side of my bellybutton, not constant maybe like once or twice a day and I'm panicking about ectopic too, let me know how you get on, so much luck 🍀 xxx

ActualMermaid · 11/08/2022 22:23

@Skylark1990

Congratulations on your pregnancy and I'm so very sorry for your loss. How are you coping so far? I'm feeling so anxious about every little thing but trying to stay as calm as I can. I'm noticing and worrying about every little symptom or lack of symptom!

No I don't have a period in between. I know you're advised to, but I also know you are most fertile after a pregnancy and after 3 years of TTC we didn't want to wait just in case we missed an opportunity! I still have guilt and mixed feelings about it, but I'm also so grateful to be pregnant again.

Loopylou777 · 11/08/2022 23:26

Is anyone one here 40+?? I've started worrying after speaking to my mum. I'm 40.and she thinks I'm daft and putting myself at risk of having a baby with abnormalities as I'm too old. It's playing on my mind now

41andtryingforfirst · 12/08/2022 00:50

@Loopylou777 I'm 41. Ummm I have no words. Does your mum work in medicine or is it a lay opinion? The doctors said that my ovaries are in very good shape and it's fine for me to conceive. Have they told you something different?

Got this this morning on the cb digital. Which has massively put my mind at ease. Going to do a frer over the weekend just so I can see the (hopefully) darker lines. Feeling really nauseous last few days. I had HG with my first pregnancy from 6-16 weeks which was awful, couldn't keep anything down just spent months going from bathroom to bed! With my second it wasn't so bad so I'm hopeful!! Hope everyone is doing ok xx

xttcbabyno1x · 12/08/2022 07:04

@Orangesaretheonly ahh I'm the same ☺️ well one app says 4+4 and one soo says 4+5 xxx

Wouldloveanother · 12/08/2022 07:07

Morning folks! Just woke up and felt ‘proper’ nausea for the first time 🤢 think I might have to go back to my old trick of keeping a packet of rich tea biscuits by the bed and having one before getting up every morning.

5+2 today! Feel like I’m just wishing the next few weeks away - I know if my 8 week scan goes well I will relax a lot more.

Good luck this morning @Skylark1990 xx

hotelp · 12/08/2022 07:22

I feel like I might be in the minority not having early scans. Anyone else not? I'm wondering if I should!

xttcbabyno1x · 12/08/2022 07:25

@hotelp it depends how relaxed you are with it! I suffer with some anxiety and after a miscarriage when I was 18, this pregnancy I am constantly worrying so it's just for peace of mind! i have one booked @ 6 weeks and then another @ 9 weeks xxx

Wouldloveanother · 12/08/2022 07:28

It’s really up to you @hotelp i think most people don’t! I find one at 7ish weeks just to make sure the baby is in the right place and has a heartbeat to be very reassuring. It’s a personal choice though many people are happy to wait for the NHS scan and either way it won’t change the outcomes.

mummatara · 12/08/2022 07:31

@Orangesaretheonly Wohoo 🥳 my days are similar to yours I'm saving my last frer for next week because I'm not buying and more tests 😂

@Skylark1990 good lucky lovely let us know how it goes ❤️

@hotelp I can't decide whether to have one or not I did in my last two pregnancies but the second one was all fine at my early scans and I had a mmc at my 12 week scan so now I'm wondering whether to bother or just wait for my 12 week scan. I've got a while to decide as only 4+5 today

Matildahoney · 12/08/2022 07:46

@Loopylou777 I'll be 40 when I give birth, it's my first, there are risks at any age, ignore your mum!

@hotelp I've thought about it and decided I'm not, anything could happen at any point, my mum mc'd at 16 weeks, scans are only going to change the knowledge sooner not the outcome, I'm also trying to just enjoy it rather than worry about things that could happen, I mean I could go out later and be run over by a bus, doesn't mean it's going to happen.

40ANDTRYING · 12/08/2022 07:51

@Loopylou777 I’m 41 in November and pregnant with my first. I’m not going to lie, being an older woman does worry me slightly but I have plenty of friends that have had babies in their early 40’s and the bubbas are all fine.

hotelp · 12/08/2022 08:09

I think several of you have hit the nail on the head for me- it's only reassuring at that moment in time.
I actually suffer from pretty bad anxiety so I think it's best I don't, as otherwise will get reliant on the reassurance and will be booking one every other day or something Grin

SprinGarden · 12/08/2022 08:11

@Loopylou777 I m 40. There are risks with being older but a lot of women have babies over 40.

alwaysseeingstars · 12/08/2022 08:13

@Gracie2021 @ActualMermaid congratulations! Sounds like you've both had quite a journey so fingers crossed this is your time ❤️

hotelp · 12/08/2022 08:14

I should add though- as I worry my last post came across as dismissive which definitely wasn't my intention- that I can totally understand why people choose to have them, especially with previous losses.Flowers

alwaysseeingstars · 12/08/2022 08:29

@hotelp I think I've decided the same - I'm kinda all or nothing so think if I had an early scan I'd be wanting another within days! haha

OttilieKnackered · 12/08/2022 08:36

@hotelp i had an early scan (9 weeks) last time which found I’d had a MMC at 7 weeks. I don’t think I will this time because as others have said, it doesn’t change the outcome.

I also now know what to look out for (in my body, it’s different for everyone) as potential signs something is wrong.

Also, like others, I want to try and just enjoy it and be as relaxed as possible and I think early scans (for me) could just feed anxiety.

Chocolat · 12/08/2022 08:38

Morning all,

@Wouldloveanother same, first morning I’ve felt pretty nauseous and I’m 6+3. Also got a bit of heart burn. Guess it’s a good sign!

Skylark1990 · 12/08/2022 09:12

Thank you @mummatara @Wouldloveanother 💜 and thanks for the solidarity on the worry @xttcbabyno1x 🤦‍♀️😔 it's hard isn't it

I'm at epau now waiting to be seen. Very nervous.

@ActualMermaid love your user name btw! I didn't have a period in between either. Totally get why you TTC again straight away, I would have too! 3 years omg you poor thing. Such a long journey. Have you had tests done etc? Are you taking anything to help?

We didn't actively try this cycle but it happened anyway so hoping it's a good sign! In terms of coping after a MC, it's so hard ❤️ one day at a time... Some days I like to think about it and go on Mumsnet etc and other days I prefer to just try to distract myself with other things. I am generally feeling a bit better this time as I'm on progesterone supplements which should help and I've had some tests which came back normal so I'm more reassured I guess. But I've still had massive wobbles where I've basically been down and worried all day, the first when the line on the cheapie tests wasn't increasing in darkness over 3 days (it did in the end! 🤦‍♀️) And then yesterday when I started worrying about ectopic 😩 think I'm much much more prone to worrying. My pregnancy with my DD a few years ago was blissful ignorance.

Woohoo on the nausea 😅 @Wouldloveanother @Chocolat DD woke me up at 4am and wouldn't go to sleep till 5ish and I was ravenous. Seriously thought I might have to go downstairs and get toast but she finally fell asleep again and I didn't. Nausea hasn't really started for me yet but I defo feel slightly different to normal. I'm expecting it in next 1-2 weeks if all goes well..... 🤞🤞🤞
