Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

@3rdtimelucky2022

Congrats on your BFP!

I'm sorry to hear about your losses. I'm in a similar boat with a MMC (strong heartbeat at 8 weeks, but found out at 11+2 that baby had stopped growing a few days after 8 week scan) and a chemical last September. I wish I could just relax and enjoy it, but I'm so convinced it's gonna go the same way as the others. Hopefully we can support eachother through the anxiety!

It's good your tests have got darker. Hopefully this one will work out for you.

I don't have symptoms yet either apart from fatigue and cramping (but the cramping is almost constant, so it's worrying me rather than comforting!)

36and4th · 23/07/2022 11:34

@Lyla82 it is really a worrying time! I've been having cramps and tummy pains since Thursday. But I haven't been able to keep much down, so it could be related to that.

No, I guess the testing doesn't really guarantee anything. I had a miscarriage before my eldest, which I suppose was more like a chemical. I've been tempted by the CB digital too, but feel like that's tempting fate. And I already did that yesterday booking a scan yesterday at 8 weeks 🙈

Hoping bub sticks for you!

@3rdtimelucky2022 congrats and welcome! I'm sorry for your previous losses, hopefully the bub has sticking power!

@3rdtimelucky2022

Congratulations and welcome! I'm so sorry for your losses. It's heartbreaking but reassuring to hear that people have had similar experiences.

I sincerely hope everything goes well for you! 04/04 is my birthday so I think it's a super day to be born!! 😂. If my baby is 3 days late I'll a share a birthday with it! Crazy!

Take care xx

@Lyla82 yup the cramping is constant for me too! I'm actually pleased though as I had cramping all the way through last time until it stopped 2 days b4 the MC.

Another symptom for me is mega bloating. I already look like I'm 4 months gone. I had it last time too. I keep stroking my gas belly 😂😂😂 xx

Lower back pain is bothering me today. Does mess with my head a bit as just like before period starts but will hope all is well. Hope everyone's wkend is going well.

Loz365 · 23/07/2022 17:01

Is anyone else getting brown discharge/spotting? 4 weeks today and I've had it since Thursday, thought it was my period but it's obviously not turned into that. It's only small amounts and seems to come and go but not sure if I should be concerned?

@tulipsunday I've also got cramps and low back pain which I get with my periods. It's nowhere near as bad as it is with my periods though so telling myself that's a good thing...!

36and4th · 23/07/2022 18:15

I've had on and off cramping today, like my period is about to start. But no spotting or blood. But had some light discharge, which I've read is normal.

@Loz365 maybe leave it a bit, if it continues maybe contact your EPU?

41andtryingforfirst · 23/07/2022 18:33

@Loz365 I have exactly the same and mine started on Thursday too.

I did go to the GP and the EPU because I have risk factors (age, recent MC and lupus anticoagulant) and I'm being investigated atm. Im not sure about your circumstances?

If I hadn't have ticked those boxes the GP would've sent me home to "see what happens" (that's what he did last time - idiot).

Brown on and off can be implantation bleeding. As long as it's not red it's ok. Warning signs are (any of these):

  1. High temperature
  2. Abdominal pain (more than just usual cramping) particularly if it's on one side
  3. Bleeding so heavily that you need to change your pad hourly
  4. Pain in your shoulders.

Any of those go straight to A and E.

Last time I had the MC it went from brown to red in one hour and by two hours it was very heavy and full of clots. But every pregnancy is different. That's just my experience.

Try to stay calm and positive and just monitor things. Here if u need to ask anything xx

@36and4th @41andtryingforfirst thanks so much for replying!
I'd assumed it was implantation bleeding, I have a few cramps but nowhere near as bad as my usual period cramps. Definitely no red bleeding. And I don't think I have any risk factors - I'm 30, first pregnancy, PCOS but otherwise no other medical problems.
I was thinking of just seeing how it goes and if it hasn't settled by next week to call my EPU but then thought MN is full of so many helpful ladies that I would ask!

41andtryingforfirst · 23/07/2022 19:10

@Loz365 no problem anytime. I'm not a medical professional and just offering advice. If at any point it doesn't "feel right" then do get checked out.

I'm sure everything will be fine though. I'll be thinking of you xx

Loz365 · 23/07/2022 19:16

@41andtryingforfirst thanks! It's crazy isn't it, you stress about getting pregnant and then the minute you do, you stress about being pregnant 🙄 its never ending!!

41andtryingforfirst · 23/07/2022 20:03

@Loz365 I know, it's really hard.

If it helps, the odds are in your favour. You're young and only 1/4 pregnancies end in miscarriage. 3/4 don't. That's really good odds.

I never thought I'd fall pregnant what with my age and medical condition. I'd never properly tried before but wasn't taking any contraceptives either and it hadn't happened so I'd just assumed I wouldn't. I fell pregnant after only 3 cycles and then fell pregnant with this one immediately after the MC - I hadn't even had a period yet.

So I guess what I'm saying is that the body is an amazing thing and will do it's best for you and the baby. But also if it's not to be, there's literally nothing you can do about it. It'll just happen. So try not to stress. Enjoy your pregnancy, accept you're not in control and go with it.

I now need to work on following my own advice!! 😂😂 xx

Hi everyone, I would also like to tentatively join! Got my BFP this week! Been ttc for 7 months after a 2nd mc in Jan. Also had an mmc in August 21 so feeling super nervous.
I'm over analysing every twinge and pain. Plus don't have any symptons so feel like I can't get my hopes up.
Any advice would be hugely welcome! X

Loz365 · 24/07/2022 01:18

@41andtryingforfirst thank you! That's super helpful advice, I've been telling myself there's nothing I can do to change what happens. The brown discharge seems to have disappeared again so feeling a bit more relaxed. Just see what happens!

@Elciekay welcome! Sorry to hear about your mc's. I have no real advice but I'm right there with you overthinking things, reminding myself there's nothing more I can do now though and crossing my fingers 🙃

36and4th · 24/07/2022 06:26

I did a digital this morning on FMU and it only came up as 1-2 weeks and a cheaper test was barely a line. It could mean I ovulated late but I think that I'm just waiting for my period to come now.

Best of luck everyone xx

Although looking at the guidance for it, it means I conceived 1-2 weeks ago. So would be accurate. I'm so confused.

It's such a head wreck 😅

41andtryingforfirst · 24/07/2022 07:11

@36and4th yup that's correct regarding the digital. It counts it from conception not your period.

Try not to worry. You've got this xx

@41andtryingforfirst ❤️❤️

Loz365 · 24/07/2022 10:14

@36and4th just as some reassurance, I'm 4+1 weeks today (13DPO) and I had 1-2 weeks on CB on Friday and did another cheapie today that barely had a line in the time frame. My FRER line progression today looks okay though so I'm feeling positive!
First pic is Friday, second is this morning 😊

36and4th · 24/07/2022 10:23

@Loz365 thank you for the reassurance!
The CB I did yesterday appeared darker, with light lines on the cheaper ones. And then today 1-2 on the digital.

I don't think I'm going to test anymore, too afraid of the result 🤣, feel like at this point I'm wasting money. So I'm just gonna wait til either the bleeding starts or the scan now, which is in 4 time.

Those lines look great!

36and4th · 24/07/2022 10:32

@Loz365 although saying that I've just found a a FRER and did it. It came up pretty much straight away (although not as strong - probably diluted with the tea and juice 😅) and it's not on the first wee. So I'm taking that as a positive. 💕

Lovely tests @36and4th @Loz365 😊 anybody told anyone apart from their partner? We waited longer last time but decided we would tell our parents straight away this time as we were celebrating our wedding anniversary and happened to be seeing both sets this wkend. They know it is v early days so won't be telling anyone else yet. Feeling bit light headed and spacey today but back ache has eased off a bit.

36and4th · 24/07/2022 11:02

@tulipsunday I've told my partner, my sister in law and a couple of friends who I'm always on the phone to. Mainly for emotional support. My sister in law is 5 months pregnant and due late November.. so it was really a courtesy to her tbh, as ours is totally unplanned.

I won't be telling my parents until as late as possible for this reason. And my dad will be disappointed that we are pregnant again.. mainly due to my MH issues (pnd/moderate anxiety)

It's good to have the support though! I don't get the taboo behind not telling and going through those first 12 weeks alone.

I'm sicky, tired and headachey today

Longbin · 24/07/2022 11:47

Very early days for me, but happy to be joining! I just got my BFP from a round of clomid the month before IVF, so I can't quite believe I am pregnant. I think I am due around 7th August. Congratulations everyone!
