Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

alwaysseeingstars · 11/08/2022 13:40

@J1290 I was re-assured a few days ago by some lovely ladies on another thread that mine was a very good sign, as the hcg level was so high it stole the dye from the control line 😊

mummatara · 11/08/2022 13:44

@J1290 ahhh so glad to put your mind at ease I've got one frer left going to try it next Wednesday or thurs see if I can one 🤞🏼

belephant · 11/08/2022 14:18

@Skylark1990 yeah, with my first I had a lot of pain on my left side, as well as more general cramps. It was the main reason I decided to go for a private scan at 6 weeks - though on reflection I think it would have been worth mentioning to the midwives/gp/anyone before that as you never know.

I've got it again this time too. I'm thinking I'll ring up to refer for the booking appointment tomorrow, and perhaps I'll mention it then.

@Gingermango oh no that sounds rough! So amazing you got to see the heartbeat though 🥰 and you got to see the heart beat as well @38startingagain , how exciting!!

SprinGarden · 11/08/2022 14:37

Heya,

I am on my 3rd cycle of Ivf. For my previous 2 I lost them around week 5/6 so both chemical pregnancies. This time I m pregnant 5+4. So hopefully due April next year. I m proper scared at the moment as had some brown discharge last Monday (that s how the others started) and my symptoms have decreased, all I m left with is some boob soreness but nothing like it was. I ve been doing daily pregnancy tests and they are positive and pretty dark lines too.
The clinic have told me to wait and as long as I don't have bad cramps or bleeding I should be cautiously optimistic and I ll get a 7week scan as they won't be able to see anything before that.

I ve just been worried and thought I would join your group for support
xx

Pompom2367 · 11/08/2022 14:48

Hi how are you all just found out we are expecting beginning of April a very lovely surprise considering DD is 7 months old at the minute shocked scared but very happy I had quite a few losses before dd so trying just to stay calm as hard as it is

Wouldloveanother · 11/08/2022 14:56

Phew. Got 3+ just now. I won’t be testing again, I’ve always seen it as a bit of fun because they’ve gone as expected, but this gave me a little scare so I think it’s time to put them away and wait for my 8w scan 🤞🏻

alwaysseeingstars · 11/08/2022 15:04

@SprinGarden congratulations on the BFP, and keeping my fingers crossed for you that this is your time xx

@Pompom2367 congratulations, both on your DD and your BFP - that'll be the same age gap as my sister & I which is lovely!

@Wouldloveanother glad you got your 3+!! What week/day are you on now? After reading a few things on here I'm going to wait until at least next Tues to do mine!

Wouldloveanother · 11/08/2022 15:06

I’m 5+1 or 22dpo. It was still showing as 2-3 with FMU today 🤯 for peace of mind I would take it a few days after 5 weeks, when you’re right on the threshold it could go either way and cause you needless stress.

Skylark1990 · 11/08/2022 15:51

Epau has got me going in for a scan tomorrow due to the right side pain. Hoping it's nothing to worry about, she did say its common but good to be on safe side and check. I'll be about 5+2. Anyone else has a scan this early? Wondering what to expect to see!

Sunnyxo · 11/08/2022 15:59

@Skylark1990 i think it varies from person to person depending on implantation, but usually it’s the gestational sac and yolk, sometimes can also see the embryo, but it’s so tiny so not always the case
went for one at 5+4 tuesday and they could see the sac and yolk

Skylark1990 · 11/08/2022 16:02

@Sunnyxo thank you! Are you going back soon to check for a heartbeat? I'm really nervous as never been for such an early one. Hope it's ok to do it. I'm sure it is but everything has the potential to worry me these days! Better to rule out ectopic of course. I really hope everything looks as it should be

Sunnyxo · 11/08/2022 16:06

@Skylark1990 my next scan is the 8 week one, but I might see if I can go back next week as I’m quite anxious. It’s understandable and defnitely best to go to check all okay and to rule ectopic out! They will most likely do a check of your corpus luteum too. Hope it all goes okay, I found these links helpful/reassuring:

Hi all, it's so lovely to see all the support here!
I'm also due in April, currently 4+4. This is my 5th pregnancy after 4 miscarriages and no babies, so we're being very cautious about excitement, but it's hard isn't it! Can't help but hope that this is the one that'll work out...
Like many here, I'm also having some mild dull cramping in the lower abdomen - terrifying as that's how all my previous MCs started - but I know it can also be normal.
My HCGs were also only 20 on Monday, which might be okay as I was only 4+1 then. Going back to the EPU tomorrow for more bloods and praying we'll see a good increase!
Does anyone else have low HCGs at this stage or with previous pregnancies? Any reassurance is welcome at this point! X

Wouldloveanother · 11/08/2022 16:21

Good luck Skylark, hopefully just regular pregnancy pain. Always best to get checked though!

3rdtimelucky2022 · 11/08/2022 17:39

In case anyones interested in what they look like at this stage! Had my scan yesterday at 6+1. I’ve drawn pink around the baby but the biggest big in yello is actually the yolk sac which will disappear over next few weeks. So you don’t see much actual baby! I did see a tiny flicker though which is the start of the heart.

CinderellaFant · 11/08/2022 17:40

@misslomi how are you today? Has the bleeding stopped?

3rdtimelucky2022 · 11/08/2022 17:42

Also I’m not sure Scans help the anxiety! I had one only yesterday and I’m scared again today that the hearts stopped since. I had a normal scan at 6 weeks last time and then baby died later so I think that’s why I’m paranoid! But it’s still all very uncertain at this stage.

im getting scanned at 6,8,10 weeks at EPU this time round which I’m very thankful for!

Gracie2021 · 11/08/2022 17:46

Hi all, I've been lurking in the background for the last week. I'm 4w1d and 10 days past frozen embryo transfer. Would be due approx 19 April. Getting strong positives for 5 days now but won't have my blood test until Monday. Took a long while to get here so just trying to stay balanced and get through the next few weeks and hope for the best. Have found it so useful to follow along with your updates especially those ahead a few weeks. Wishing you all the best.

misslomi · 11/08/2022 17:54

@CinderellaFant a little bit of spotting today but it's darker blood. How are you?

Had anyone paid for a private scan? I'm coming up 7 weeks and desperate to know what's going on in there!

J1290 · 11/08/2022 18:34

Yes got one booked for 23rd not bad price considering i paid a fortune 4 years ago

misslomi · 11/08/2022 19:47

@J1290 How far along are you if you don't mind me asking? And are you having a private scan for any particular reason?

J1290 · 11/08/2022 20:20

Peace of mind, because 12 weeks is a long time to wait and it seems they are half the price theh used tk be. I hsd MC before my first baby and been super paranoid every since
