Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

mummatara · 10/08/2022 21:32

@xttcbabyno1x I'm good still getting heartburn but not many other symptoms yet I'm going to enjoy it though because I know it's going to kick in about week 6/7 😂

xttcbabyno1x · 10/08/2022 21:33

@mummatara I'm trying to but I'm definitely an anxious person so I'm worrying every time I feel a cramp or twitch even though I've read that's pretty normal 🙈 xx

mummatara · 10/08/2022 21:38

@xttcbabyno1x I got some horrid cramps last night for about 30 mins and def more than the little twinges I had been having was very nerve wracking but yes normal from what other have said. I couldnt remember having them with my first two but I probably did 🤷🏼‍♀️

xttcbabyno1x · 10/08/2022 21:40

@mummatara ohhh gosh I'm glad it's not just me worrying! Yeah mine have been weird like pulling sensations, I've noticed it's when I wear tight clothing or need the toilet more so! I'll just be glad to get a scan done on 29th of August :) hopefully will relax me! Have you told anyone yet ?

41andtryingforfirst · 10/08/2022 22:00

Thank you for your reassuring comments guys! They really helped 😊

@Skylark1990 no, no heartbeat yet. The sonographer was a bit of a nob to be honest and she's the one that planted doubt and worry in my mind. The EPU matron was much more reassuring.

@xttcbabyno1x I've got to wait until the beginning of September for our scan we're going on our honeymoon on 27th august and it will be too early to have one before 🙄 told my mum, my two cousins who are like my sisters and a close friend because they know we're trying and if I don't tell a few people I'll combust 😂 tbf most people probably know we're trying as we had a mc in June so it would be logical we are. Have you told anyone yet? Xx

xttcbabyno1x · 10/08/2022 22:02

@mummatara oh gosh, at least your honeymoon will take your mind off the scan and as soon as you get back you can get one done ☺️ that makes sense Aw, bet they were chuffed!! My partner knows (obviously) haha and also my closest friend as she told me about hers the day she found out! We're telling my parents Sunday as will be 5 weeks then and we're telling my partners family after the 7 week scan ☺️ (he's got a bigger family) so want to check baby out first xxx

mummatara · 10/08/2022 22:11

@xttcbabyno1x haha I'm the most impatient person ever and the thought of having to wait an extra week for a scan is torture 😂 honeymoon will def be fun though we're taking our 18 month old with us there will be no relaxing on this honeymoon for sure 🙈 I know lots of people wait the 12 weeks to tell people but we told our closest family and friends early both pregnancies and tbh it was nice to have all the support around us ❤️

xttcbabyno1x · 10/08/2022 22:12

@mummatara I am too haha!! That will be fun with your 18 month old❤️ going abroad ? Yeah I can't wait that long to tell our closest, I want to be able to talk to my mum if I'm worried about anything xx

mummatara · 10/08/2022 22:16

@xttcbabyno1x yes going to Greece I can't wait I haven't been abroad since 2019 can't bloody wait to get on a plane and enjoy mocktails 🥳 and eat a lot of food I didn't have to cook 🙊 yes absolutely I think it's very important to share with others the people in my phone on Mumsnet have been amazing but there's nothing like a big hug from your mum when your having a tough pregnancy day ❤️

xttcbabyno1x · 10/08/2022 22:17

@mummatara ooh I'm very jealous, that sounds lovely 😍 that was the last time we went away too! You're so right I wouldn't be without anyone on here but I absolutely can't wait to be able to call my mum if I'm feeling nervous about anything 💕

J1290 · 10/08/2022 22:19

Anyone still testing
i have loads left and still paranoid! Tonights not first urine turned very quickly just as dark as the control
doesnt help i have like 10 cheapie tests left :/

mummatara · 10/08/2022 22:21

@J1290 I'm satisfied with my tests now esp as I got a positive on a digital this morning but i have one first response left which I might take next week just for the fun of it 😂

ancienthouse · 10/08/2022 22:25

@J1290 I'm still testing, I can't help myself even though I know it doesn't really mean anything. My lines are darker now at 4+6 than they ever got with my 6 week miscarriage so at least that's something. This pregnancy is going the same as my first with my DD so far, so I'm really really hoping it stays that way. Who knows though, early pregnancy is fickle.

I stopped for a while, then - big mistake - tested with a weeks indicator tonight and only got 2-3 (same as this time last week) I’m 21dpo. So now I’m mildly worried, not massively but probably a little more on edge than I otherwise would’ve been. It wasn’t first morning urine though (didn’t see that bit in the instructions until after), more like a 2 hour hold after a pint of squash 😂 so I’ll do my second test with FMU tomorrow and see what happens.

misslomi · 10/08/2022 22:34

Had some bad cramps, a little bit of bleeding and feeling really bloated today.

Is this normal?

MIW01 · 09/08/2022 15:45

Hello, I got my BFP on Saturday so I am 5 weeks pregnant and my due date is 7th April. I am so excited as this is a much lo get for pregnancy after over 4 years, 3 unsuccessful rounds do of IVF and then after all that it's just happened naturally! I thought I was going through menopause because I have a family history of it and the fertility consultants said I have a reproductive age of 46 (I'm 36). AF was late and I'd had a bit of spotting a couple of days before so said to my fiancée I'm a week late now so I'll take a test just in case but I think it's menopause amd that means no biological children for me . . . So I can not put into words the feeling as I watched the test absorb and 2 strong lines appear! We both cried with relief and so emotional after all this time, it just happens!

@MIW01 congratulations! I am due on the 7th April too, and also had 3 failed rounds of IVF before this one. Been TTC for 4.5 years. How amazing they you conceived naturally, and what a strong line.

I still can't believe it's real and have so much anxiety. Have an early scan at 7 weeks through our clinic which I'm excited and terrified about in equal measure.

Banderbear · 10/08/2022 22:38

@xttcbabyno1x I have no idea as it’ll be my first as well. I’m hoping it’s a good sign. Some people seem to be hoping for it and some nervous about it so I’m not sure x

Banderbear · 10/08/2022 22:43

@J1290 Oops, I meant 21st August not September. Subconsciously wishing I could jump forward a month I guess. First proper cycle! Good work! Typical how things like that happen. I was expecting another BFN. I was actually shaking when I told my husband. It was a clearblue early digital one so I kept thinking I’d just missed the word ‘not’ somehow.

Banderbear · 10/08/2022 22:54

@misslomi As far as I can tell yes. If the blood is brown and there’s not lots then it’s okay. A few days after I got my BFP I had some cramps so bad they woke me up in the night but since then my lines have got darker and the cramps have been mild/moderate. How bad are yours compared to PMS cramps?

Also, the bloating is totally normal.

misslomi · 10/08/2022 23:17

@Banderbear thank you so much! Mostly brown but a little bit of red today. Cramping is quite bad, much worse than PMS.

Banderbear · 10/08/2022 23:37

@misslomi if it’s mainly on one side I’d get it checked out, just to be safe but it’s probably fine. Your uterus is trying to go from the size of a small fist to a large grapefruit so it’s not super comfortable.

xttcbabyno1x · 11/08/2022 03:58

@Banderbear I had some cramping which woke me up too so hopefully lines go much darker than yours! Intermittent and not severe!! anyone else struggling with insomnia? Takes me ages to fall asleep and then I wake up in the night (3.00 today) and can't get back to sleep x

hotelp · 11/08/2022 06:38

So after no sickness with DD1, I've woken today (5+1) with horrendous nausea. Really praying it's a stomach bug rather than MS Grin Anyone else nauseous this early?
