Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

limoncelloo · 08/08/2022 18:19

@J1290 mine wasn't internal no- I was expecting it to be! But I believe they always try abdominal first and mine was visible on that x

J1290 · 08/08/2022 18:21

Hi all!

Do you mind if I tag along for the ride? I got my BFP early at 9dpo on Saturday and a nice strong line today, so starting to believe it’s happening after months of never seeing even a hint of a second line. It’ll be the first child for both me and DH so a mixture of excitement and anxiety! Have a scan booked at around 7 weeks, as we would like to see if it’s all ok/we can tell the parents, so they can stop bugging us 😂

Congrats to all on the BFPs and thinking positive thoughts for those in a bit of a limbo right now 💖

Wouldloveanother · 08/08/2022 18:23

Midwife rang today to say they’ll book me in for an 8 week NHS scan due to medical conditions. So that’s saved me a few quid on the private one, even though I’ve already paid the deposit 😜

Oh my gosh smells are SO strong now!! I’ve just stepped out of the kitchen while DH and DD have dinner because it’s making me feel a bit queasy - think this is the beginning of the sickness…

ancienthouse · 08/08/2022 19:05

@simplythequest I'm the same, I'm not calling the hospital yet to book in because cancelling appointments last time was not fun.

simplythequest · 08/08/2022 19:47

@ancienthouse how long do you think you will wait?

Speaking of people bugging you to have children @Pickles91 , I was at dinner with lots of family members including an aunt and uncle visiting from Australia. My niece fell asleep in me and I must have looked quite comfortable, because they started asking when me and my husband were going to start trying! I had to think very carefully about how to reply!

Pickles91 · 08/08/2022 22:00

Yes @simplythequest!! Someone asked me yesterday because I wasn’t drinking (I was driving but normally DH takes that role) and I was just like…noooo 👀👀👀

simplythequest · 08/08/2022 22:16

@Pickles91 I just said, "it'll happen when it happens..." not sure if they believed me, but reckon that maybe they think we aren't interested yet, instead of already being pregnant!

mummatara · 08/08/2022 22:28

Is anyone else getting really bad body odour? I feel like I'm so smelly 😳

Could it just be that your sense of smell is heightened? Everything absolutely reeks to me at the moment…

J1290 · 08/08/2022 23:19

mummatara · 09/08/2022 04:54

@Wouldloveanother oh could be didn't think of that 😂

@J1290 oh the insomnia is the worst I don't have a problem actually falling asleep but I wake up anytime between 3.30 -5.30 and there is no way I'm getting back to sleep 🙄 with my first i woke up every morning at 3am without fail for weeks on end it was horrific

@Loopylou777 yes I see that line 😍 how many dpo are you?

Pickles91 · 09/08/2022 04:57

Well for all the insomniacs, I am 8 hours behind the UK, so generally awake at weird hours if anyone needs a chat!

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 09/08/2022 06:54

Anyone else getting the mood swings? I'm normally so chilled too 🙈

J1290 · 09/08/2022 08:11

dappledsunbeams · 09/08/2022 08:18

Hi all!

Tested yesterday, a positive after a year of trying! Due dates end of April, brand new mum - already feeling queasy but it could be psychosomatic…hopefully ahaha! Anyway, lovely to meet you all 💕. Any other primary school teachers here?

Hopingforluckxo · 09/08/2022 08:26

Got my BFP last week and due in April.
We are very lucky as happened first cycle of actively trying.
I have 2 children and my partner also has 2 children; girls are the same age and boys are the same age so it’s great but this is one first together and I’m so excited. Kids will be 10 and 8 when baby is here so back to the beginning and a lot has changed since ours were babies!
going to book an early scan also x

User154871 · 09/08/2022 08:37

@dappledsunbeams I'm a primary teacher. Bit worried about work's reaction as this is no.2 (only went back in July) and I'll be in year 6 so not ideal to have a due date before May! Can't do much about it though - it's starting to sink in now that I'll have 2 under 2!

Loopylou777 · 09/08/2022 08:49

@mummatara around 13dpo I think. I'm so confused

simplythequest · 09/08/2022 08:59

@dappledsunbeams @User154871 I'm also a primary school teacher - I teach year 5/6 and I know exactly what you ran about going on mat leave before SATs! If I hadn't lost my first pregnancy, I would have been just about to start mat leave and it wouldn't have mattered. Best laid plans and all that 🙄

misslomi · 09/08/2022 09:01

I've just got my blood test results back and I'm still pregnant! I've never felt so relieved 😆

How is everyone else feeling this morning?

Loopylou777 · 09/08/2022 09:03

I'm picking some more tests up today so I'll see what happens with them. Trying not to get ahead of myself, just take it day by day. But that line came up immediately and within the time frame. Unless I've got a dodgy batch?? I'm 40 and just been told I'm in perimenopause literally last week. I don't really have any symptoms, just tired but I'm always tired 😆 sore boobs but AF due today so that's also normal for me.
