Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Hi everyone and welcome and congratulations to our new joiners.

So update from my scan - still in limbo land I'm afraid. Saw the sonographer first. She said my pregnancy wasn't progressing as it was only 2.8mm and no visible heartbeat. Then I saw the EPU matron who said that was bollocks and the 1mm they saw last week might have been something else anyway so they can't base the growth on that. She said to remain positive and she'll rescan me next Monday. Next Monday it has to be at least 7mm and have a heartbeat or it's game over. So no one is saying it's bad news yet. I've no idea what to think x

Hi @Skylark1990 lovely to see you 💕 so glad you're being given support and all looks good so far 🤞🏼 thank you there's always that anxiety in the back of your mind but I'm trying really hard to just to be positive and not think it will end up as a MC and try and treat is as the happy occasion it's meant to be easier said than done sometimes 🙈

limoncelloo · 08/08/2022 12:14

@41andtryingforfirst I'm sorry you're still in limbo and it wasn't better news. It isn't bad news though. Must be so confusing for you. Hopefully this week will go quickly.

Have they done bloods to check if HCG is rising appropriately?

As for me, I'm suffering terribly with all day sickness and vomiting multiple times a day. Fed up of it already but trying to think of it as a good sign.

Welcome to everyone new that has joined as well ❤️

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 08/08/2022 12:16

@41andtryingforfirst I'm sorry you're still in limbo, but it sounds like you have reason to hope. I know that can be hard.
@NiceToChat88 not sure if it's your thing, but I use a twinings camomile and honey tea for the evenings and it is beautiful with a wee bit of honey in it.
My update- things look to be progressing as they should ❤️ I've been in a and e twice this week with pains which turned out to be a kidney infection, but given I was having pains on the right side I was sent to EPU this morning and was able to see a tiny little bean growing in the right place and right for dates (5 weeks 4 or 5 days). We saw the gestation sack, yolk sack and fetal pole and I'm back in 10 days to hopefully see my little beans heartbeat, but I've been told things look as good as they can for now. Off to watch silly TV now

Sunnyxo · 08/08/2022 13:07

Hi, is it okay if I can join? Currently 5 +4, had 2 previous early losses and on progesterone at the moment. Bit worried as I haven’t got many symptoms other than cramps on and off, nervous that the suppositories would delay knowing a loss being realised…

Wouldloveanother · 08/08/2022 13:20

@41andtryingforfirst thats so frustrating 😔 a week must feel like forever. I hope you get some swift resolution either way ☕️ 💐

misslomi · 08/08/2022 13:50

@41andtryingforfirst Hoping this week goes quickly for you! I've got to wait till the end of the week for my blood results and the wait is just torture isn't it 😢

NiceToChat88 · 08/08/2022 14:32

Thanks all for your tea recommendations, I'll get some different options!

Got my fingers and toes crossed for all of you in limbo ❤️

Is anyone going to pay for an early scan? Or those of you who have had one do you recommend? I know much can't be seen but I'm tempted to go for one at 7 weeks if I get that far just to make sure things are progressing okay. Or is that just giving me a false sense or security as I know not much can be seen? X

Longbin · 08/08/2022 14:36

@NiceToChat88 I will be going for a scan at 6 1/2 weeks. They are more reliable at 8 weeks as the chance of something happening drops significantly

41andtryingforfirst · 08/08/2022 14:37

Thanks guys. Going to Cardiff for a few days which will probably take my mind off things and hopefully make the week go quicker.

Are any of you on progesterone pessaries? Just got prescribed them today and haven't had them before x

Had seven week scsns with both mine
will book for this one too. Id rather know as soon as than wait till 12 weeks
come down in price since 4 years ago!

ancienthouse · 08/08/2022 14:42

@41andtryingforfirst oh limbo is so frustrating, hopefully you'll get better news next Monday.

@Skylark1990 my DD is 3, I never expected to be breastfeeding a 3 year old but here we are. I'm pretty sure she's going to give up soon though.
it's really hard not testing! I've had 2 dark lines and I'm just going to have to be happy with that unless something changes. When I had the mc I just knew something was wrong and the tests got fainter before I even started bleeding so I'm just terrified that's going to happen again.

@NiceToChat88 I'm probably going to go for a private scan around 8 weeks if I'm still pregnant then. with my DD I had my first NHS scan at 10 weeks because they wouldn't believe my dates (I have long cycles) so I got to see her early and that was nice. I'm not sure I can wait until 12 weeks the anxiety is too much.

Skylark1990 · 08/08/2022 14:47

@41andtryingforfirst yes I am. I'm on 2 cyclogest a day due to 3 miscarriages. Are you on the same? They're quite messy! I actually did a thread asking for tips recently I'll post a link... I'm really sorry you're in limbo right now. 🤞🤞🤞 For you that all is ok at your next scan x

Hi @Skylark1990 ah if you wouldn't mind sharing that thread that would be great.

Do they disintegrate like thrush pessaries? X

limoncelloo · 08/08/2022 14:52

@NiceToChat88 I had an early scan on Saturday at 5w6d and saw a heartbeat. I will probably have another in 2-3 weeks. Totally worth the £50 to me x

Skylark1990 · 08/08/2022 14:54

Hey @Sunnyxo . I'm 4+5 , also on progesterone due to previous losses. I also don't have many symptoms aside from occasional cramping as you say! My my DD symptoms kicked in much more strongly from 6 weeks so we are early still. 😊 Have you had any blood work done or have you seen the tests increasing in darkness / going up in weeks? No guarantee ofc but if it looks like the tests progressing might help as I know what you mean about the progesterone delaying things. But hopefully the progesterone is helping and chances of that happening v slim !

@ancienthouse that's brilliant you're still bf, well done 🙌🙌🫶🫶 I'd love to go that long - if it weren't for wanting baby no 2 I would but I don't think I want to tandem. Yes they are likely to go off it when the milk changes I think this usually happens around 16 weeks... Shall see I guess!

@NiceToChat88 I have a scan booked at epau for when I'll be 6+5 due to previous loss. I'm nervous but glad as would find it hard to wait too long after what I've been through. I didn't do an early scan when pregnant with DD, my first pregnancy, saw her at 12 weeks for the first time and it was pretty magical as she was a fully fledged little baby! But I think if you're anxious and it eases your mind then why not book one privately x

Sunnyxo · 08/08/2022 14:56

Hi @41andtryingforfirst I am on two cyclogest pessaries since my positive, bit messy but got used to them now. Sorry you’re in limbo but hope you have a nice in Cardiff, fingers crossed it takes your mind off things abit and best wishes for the scan x

Skylark1990 · 08/08/2022 14:59

@41andtryingforfirst www.mumsnet.com/talk/pregnancy/4602065-progesterone-suppositories-tell-me-your-tricks-and-tips?page=2&reply=119047241

There you go, read from page 1 for all the info 😘

Main thing is to lie down if you do them vaginally for 30 mins at least so it doesn't leak out before the hormone is absorbed. You can also do them rectally which is less messy. X

Longbin · 08/08/2022 15:01

@41andtryingforfirst I was on progesterone before. They do leave a bit of a mess but you get used to it after a while! I just used to apply them as high as possible and carry on like usual

Sunnyxo · 08/08/2022 15:12

Hi @Skylark1990 thank you for the reassurance, that’s really helpful 😊 embarrassingly I’m a really big wuss with blood tests I have panic attacks and faint so trying to avoid them until essential, I’ve got a reassurance scan at 8 weeks. My lines have gotten really dark so I’m hoping this is a positive, fingers crossed the progesterone is helping. Have you had bloods done?

SavedByGraceAlone · 08/08/2022 15:22

Hi all, hope I can join in!

I'm due 14 April 2023, but not really trusting in this as this is now my 5th pregnancy after 4 consecutive miscarriages and no babies.

I've had just some dull cramping a very-very faint pink spotting since yesterday and today my HCGs measured only at 20 :(

I know it's the second number that will matter, but the prospects don't look brill at the moment, given our history. Anyone had successes with low HCGs?

X

mummatara · 08/08/2022 16:12

@NiceToChat88 we paid for an early scan with both of my pregnancies at 7 and 9 weeks it was nice to see a heartbeat. Sadly I lost my second at 10 weeks so the early scan didn't really do anything than give me reassurance at that point. We will still do it again for this one i don't think I couldn't

simplythequest · 08/08/2022 17:10

@NiceToChat88 I reckon I will get an early scan at around 8 weeks, if we make it that far. I won't book it until we're really close to that point though. Cancelling the previous one was hard enough.

Haven't actually told the GP or midwife service that I'm pregnant yet. Too scared 😱 I don't quite know what I waiting for, or when I should...

NiceToChat88 · 08/08/2022 17:33

@simplythequest I think I'm going to go for an 8 week one too and wait until closer to the time to book.

I'm in scotland and we don't need to go through GP to arrange our midwife appointments, I called midwife directly and have my first appointment on 6th September (at 8 weeks) for bloods etc! Give them a call ✨
