Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Longbin you as well! Is this your first baby? I’ve read about hairiness being an indication of having a boy, but surely it’s too early for all that?!
I think there’s some truth in it though as with DD I had the classic ‘girl’ symptoms - sick as a dog (although not until 7 weeks+) and my leg hair stopped growing - I didn’t have to shave my legs very often maybe every couple of weeks (bonus as the bump makes it so uncomfortable!)

is anyone planning to get the NIPT?

@Wouldloveanother I might. I'm older and higher risk than I was last time and I think I would like to know. I'll probably wait to see what the 12 week screening says first though.

Longbin · 05/08/2022 20:15

@Wouldloveanother I have a DD already. I don't usually have that much body hair and I didn't with her. For some reason I'm convinced I'm having a boy so you've added to my theory!

I'm getting the harmony test at just over 10 weeks. I'll find out the gender shortly after, so not long to wait now!

Wouldloveanother · 05/08/2022 20:20

Longbin we will probably both end up with twin girls now we have said that 😂 I would love twins as DH doesn’t want any more babies after this, and I’ve always wanted 3 😆 so it would be the only way…

i believe you can get NIPT through local hospital without a high risk screen if you pay for it, does anyone know how to go about booking this? I’m guessing it would need booking before the scan, as they’ll want to take blood at the same time? It seems to be cheaper to go via NHS than use a private clinic.

Hi everyone, I’m 4+6 after a miscarriage last month at 5+2, so feeling very anxious! My first kiddo is 3 and I didn’t have this level of wariness during that pregnancy, I obviously knew miscarriage was possible but it wasn’t hanging over me like it is now. So far my symptoms are constant nausea, painful boobs and extreme exhaustion! I had no symptoms until at least 6 weeks with my first so it’s all a bit bewildering 😂
Got my first faint test line on an FRER at 10DPO and it has been getting consistently stronger, including a proper dye stealer today so trying to stay positive. (My last pregnancy only ever gave me faint lines, even 4 days after missed period, so feeling cautiously hopeful!)

KatySp · 05/08/2022 21:44

Think I'm having another chemical. This is loss number 6. The TTC Journey is over for us so best of luck for everyone else Flowers

Longbin · 05/08/2022 22:44

@KatySp so sorry. Take care of yourself ❤️

@Wouldloveanother I took clomid so I do have a small chance! I'm not that sick yet though and I usually get morning sickness very early, which is why I think boy (and only one!)

I have an early scan at EPAU at 8 weeks so I'll ask about harmony then. I went through a private clinic before as I didn't realise you could do it at the hospital

limoncelloo · 06/08/2022 07:54

Good morning everyone, hope you're all well.

I've been feeling nauseous for days and just had my first big vomit 🤢 I had severe morning sickness with my other successful pregnancies so I'm taking this as a good sign.

Off for my scan this morning, really nervous and wondering how I'm going to drink all the water I need to x

Longbin · 06/08/2022 07:57

Can't believe it's time for your scan already @limoncelloo! How far are you? Good luck!!

limoncelloo · 06/08/2022 07:59

@longbin 6 weeks tomorrow so I'm a day early for the scan but hopefully they see something 🙈

ancienthouse · 06/08/2022 08:05

@limoncelloo have you tried taking vitamin B6? It's apparently good at helping nausea. I was sooo sick with my DD until about 20 weeks so I'm doing anything I can this time to make it a bit better, but I'm still a bit early for nausea so we'll see if it works.

Longbin · 06/08/2022 08:20

@limoncelloo I'm only 5+1 and I'm away next week so my scan is at 6+3. How am I going to cope for another week!?

limoncelloo · 06/08/2022 09:00

@ancienthouse I will look into that, thanks!

@Longbin the wait seems like forever doesn't it! Hopefully going away will be a good distraction and it will be here before you know it x

OttilieKnackered · 06/08/2022 09:34

Tentatively dipping my toe in. Had my bfp yesterday. Due 13th April.

I had a MMC at 9 weeks this time last year so I’m pretty apprehensive but also I feel a bit better prepared if things don’t go to plan again.

Boobs are big and tender and the weetabix I just ate tasted really weird. Also felt a bit breathless a few times.

41andtryingforfirst · 06/08/2022 09:35

@limoncelloo how exciting! Wishing you the best for your scan today! X

Two days until my scan. I'll be 6+2 so really hopeful they see the heartbeat. The wait has been agonising. Now on day 17 of stupid brown blood gate. Still doing my head in and really impacting on my mental health now. Legs covered in bruising from stupid injections.

No nausea yet. Just bloating and stupid early morning waking. Trying (really trying) to be positive and not cry too much.

@KatySp I have no words. I'm so sorry. Thinking of you x

@Saribon and @HoneyPea just checking in. Are you both ok? X

@Wouldloveanother just started reading up on NIPT. Trying to weigh up if it'll provide reassurance or further anxiety.

Welcome and congratulations to all the new joiners. Here's the link for the Facebook group if you'd like to join fb.me/g/p_mt2ngemJuc3RFe5L/KuN7G0b6

Morning all, I'm 4+5 today, got leukocytes in my urine yesterday so on antibiotics today that are knocking me sick. On top of the strangest dreams and waking to wee in the night I'm exhausted.

@Wouldloveanother I'm undecided if I'm getting the NIPT, I'm 38 now and had it with my last 2 pregnancies at 36 and 37. Was nice to know the gender of them, but with my boy it was all fine and I lost him anyway so wondering if I can justify the £400 cost again. I'm also wondering if I should have a surprise this time even for the sex. I think I'm kidding myself though, I'm so impatient!! Anyone else having a surprise? I've no way of guessing with the pregnancy really, my first was a boy and I was sick as a dog until the day he was born, my second a girl that I was sick until 14 weeks and then third another boy that I was the least sick. I carried them all the same too, no difference in bump etc

@limoncelloo absolute best of luck for the scan!

MrsC2018 · 06/08/2022 09:58

@41andtryingforfirst I understand about the bleeding. With my middle pregnancy I bled from 5 weeks until 13, sometimes brown/rust and sometimes bright red. Sometimes just when wiping, sometimes dripping with clots. Lots of cramping too. It was unbearable, my mental health was in shreds because even after a successful scan showing she was ok, there would be a big bleed and I would be back sobbing that she couldn't possibly have survived that. This is genuinely awful, I hope everything's ok and you stop bleeding soon. My daughter was absolutely fine though, I hope your baby is too xx

41andtryingforfirst · 06/08/2022 10:02

@MrsC2018 thank you for sharing that. That must have been so difficult for you. It's very reassuring to know that things turned out ok. Did they ever identify a cause for the bleeding? X

MrsC2018 · 06/08/2022 10:13

@41andtryingforfirst no they didn't

limoncelloo · 06/08/2022 11:27

To update- embryo measuring right on time at 5w 5 d 4.6mm and saw a very very strong heartbeat. Had a little cry after as I felt so emotional xx

CinderellaFant · 06/08/2022 11:53

@limoncelloo fantastic news!!

Anyone else pooing a lot? 🙈 I'm going 6-7 times a day at the minute. Don't remember this from my other pregnancies!

Longbin · 06/08/2022 12:01

@limoncelloo amazing news!!

41andtryingforfirst · 06/08/2022 12:11
