Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Hey everyone. I'm due 11th April, had a miscarriage in April this year and I have 6 year old twins. Really excited :-)

faithtrustandpixiedust · 04/08/2022 20:43

Oh I'm feeling exactly the same in regards to a second at the moment, I keep going from I can't wait to terrified and have we done the right thing here?
DD is my absolute world and I'm already feeling so so guilty that she's not going to have our undivided attention anymore, but then she's so amazing with her new baby cousin so I know she'll make the best big sister. It's getting to me a bit that I don't have the same feeling that I had when we found out about DD but I think it's just because I know what to expect this time round.

Dornaylou · 04/08/2022 20:47

Hello! I’ve just been reading all your posts and you’re such a lovely friendly bunch I thought I’d join in too. I’m due 02/04/23 with my first baby and have ALL the same nerves and worries that I’ve seen on here so it’s comforting knowing we’re all in this together! The wait between getting my first positive test 4 days before my period to now (5weeks+4) has been agonising!! This thread is really helping, so thank you!

Wouldloveanother · 04/08/2022 20:55

Thank you so much ladies! I was scared that post would make me the pariah of the group 😂 🥴
I really thought I was one and done, so a second just feels like a huge decision - probably bigger than having my first baby, as I have to consider the impact on her now as well. I know essentially she will ADORE being a big sister - she’s such a little mother hen and loves babies.

Sorry another gloomy question but does anyone else worry about how you will cope worrying about 2 kids rather than 1 😂 I’m not a relaxed confident mother at all, I worry about DD a lot and have health anxiety over her after some health scares. How will I cope worrying about 2 kids 😭 and now I am worrying about worrying which is officially nuts!! Haha

limoncelloo · 04/08/2022 21:06

@Wouldloveanother I know it's hard to imagine, but you do love them all differently and for different reasons. I say that with 3 and #4 on the way. It's normal to feel like that though x

I have recently had CBT for health anxiety. It's changed my life. You could get referred via the GP, but if it's possible to go privately you could start very soon.
I used to lose so much sleep worry about DDs health and the anxiety is a big factor as to why I didn't feel ready for a second baby for so long.

@Saribon how you doing? Are you ok? So sorry you're having all this worry. I haven't got an answer as I haven't had a chemical but I know with the MC it took ages to become negative.

I wouldn't worry about the super dilute test you did at EPU contrasting with the faint positive. It's just the HCG leaving your system. They might have discounted ectopic as it's decreased rather than increasing slowly - which is a key indicator of ectopic. Having said that, they should have done a blood test to confirm this.

When I was miscarrying at 5+3 they classified me as pregnancy in unknown location, so potentially ectopic. Whilst I was heavy bleeding they kept me in but once it subsided they sent me home, even though they still hadn't identified where the pregnancy was. It still could have been ectopic but they just "safety netted" me I.e told me the warning signs and what I had to do if my symptoms changed.

It could be that you're still pregnant because as you say, you didn't have a big bleed. Or it could be that you're still miscarrying and the main bleed is still to come.

I know it's nerve wracking but look out for the warning signs (heavy bleeding, heavy cramping, shoulder tip pain, raised temp etc) and go to A and E if you begin to feel unwell.

Please let me know how you get on xx

Hi all, Can I join? Just found out I'm expecting our second (DD is 8.5 months). Bit of an oops baby as I stopped bfing 6 weeks ago...and now here we are! Due 03/04/23. Bit shocked still to be honest - I've only just gone back to work after DD and they will kill me. Worried about needing extra stuff for the second and being unprepared for 2 under 2.

ECD2023 · 05/08/2022 07:42

Hi everyone! I recently found out I was pregnant on the 24th of July with my first. I thought I’d be about 7 weeks this week however, a private scan on Monday showed I was more like 5 weeks (my periods are really irregular). Everything looked normal on the scan, I was just a little further behind than I thought.

I have a private scan booked for a couple of weeks time to check progress again. I am just a bit worried as I have had brown spotting for the past 3 days and this morning there was a little bit of light red blood when I wiped. I am currently in the process of registering with a GP. Should I be phoning the early pregnancy unit or would it be the case of waiting for my next scan?

chillichillioil · 05/08/2022 08:02

Hi everyone,

Can I join too? I'm due April 15th and it's my first. I'm so worried as I'm getting so many twinges and pains - is this normal? How do you cope with the anxiety of this part! I'm 4 weeks exactly today. X

@ECD2023 I would contact your EPU. To reassure you though, I have had spotting for 16 days and so far baby is still hanging in there.

@chillichillioil cramps and twinges are very normal. I'm 5+6 and still have them every day x

@41andtryingforfirst it's absolutely crazy isn't it, I feel like I'm on the verge of coming on my period. Also went on my hen do last weekend and drank a LOT (didn't know I was pregnant) so stressing about that.

41andtryingforfirst · 05/08/2022 08:48

@chillichillioil ok that's exactly what early pregnancy feels like. It feels like you're going to start your period. Nature is cruel that way! What you're feeling sounds exactly like my experience in both pregnancies.

Don't worry about the drinking - the pregnancy is unlikely to have been affected by that - it would have been in early stages of implantation.

Congratulations on the upcoming wedding! When's the special day? How are you feeling about it? X

HoneyPea · 05/08/2022 08:48

@SearchingTheSkies I have really bad nausea, the consultant has given me anti sickness medication to try and help.
Just tested again and it's negative again. Who knows what is going on with my body.

chillichillioil · 05/08/2022 10:23

@41andtryingforfirst ok that's reassuring, it's my first so I'm literally panicking at every twinge 😂

We were trying for about 18 months and then decided to give up as it wasn't happening so planned our wedding (it's in 10 weeks) just bought a new dress and everything which I'm hoping will still fit. Excited about wedding but just feel worried about pregnancy. Wish it was all smooth sailing. How is your pregnancy going?

41andtryingforfirst · 05/08/2022 11:03

@chillichillioil my pregnancy is a bloody nightmare. If you read back my posts on the thread you'll see I've been having a rough ride of it.

That's amazing that you got pregnant after trying for so long! The early stages of pregnancy are so exhausting, as is preparing for a wedding (I know, I've had two🤣) so just make sure you don't overdo it and make looking after yourself a priority x

@41andtryingforfirst I read all of the posts last night there's so many took me a while 😂. I have seen you've been in and out of hospital which must be pretty stressful for you. I'm glad everything is going smoothly for you though.

I think I'm just most stressed about fitting into my dress to be honest 😂 x

ancienthouse · 05/08/2022 11:24

tentatively joining in. I'm due 13th April ish if this one sticks, I had a miscarriage earlier in the year at 6 weeks. I also have a 3 year old. We've been trying for over 18 months so I'm equal parts excited and terrified!

Wouldloveanother · 05/08/2022 11:26

Thanks everyone. Yes I think it’s time to try CBT, I’ve had general therapy before but feel I need something a bit more targeted this time. I’ll speak to the midwife at booking in and see if there’s any help out there. I had very bad MH after DD was born so I think they’ll be keeping a close eye on me.

congrats to our new members!

Bluehairedmama · 05/08/2022 13:57

Hi everyone!
joining in as I got my positive test on Sunday. We decided to stop being careful after a holiday the first week in July and got pregnant straight away which was a bit unexpected! We thought it would take ages but we’re very excited
I’m 31 and this is my first baby. Think we’re due around 5th April. I’m feeling pretty anxious and overwhelmed by everything but just taking each day as it comes.
so far I’m mostly just super tired, no appetite and my boobs are bloody massive!!
congrats to everyone!! Excited for this journey :)

Wouldloveanother · 05/08/2022 17:53

Congrats Blue! 😊

well I just went to the mirror and noticed the longest, darkest upper lip hairs I have ever had 😱 which I swear weren’t there a few days ago! A delightful symptom of pregnancy no doubt… anyone else?! 😭

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 05/08/2022 18:32

Hi to everyone who has joined!
My update - boobs feel tender again, I have a massive appetite and nausea now and then. I'm 5+2 and got a 3+ on a CB digital today so fairly happy with that, and I'm slowly feeling better from this awful UTI.

Longbin · 05/08/2022 18:45

@Wouldloveanother not noticed any lip hairs yet but my leg hair is so thick and black, I thought I had a rash but it was the hairs growing through 😂
