Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

It's ridiculous how we put ourselves through tests, checking symptoms etc and it actually makes no difference at all to the outcome 😩

JP3264 · 02/08/2022 20:42

Hi all, haven't posted much, but have been keeping up with the thread.

@Longbin It's the not knowing that's the worst thing though. I'm trying to restrict symptom checking until after 6pm (not always successfully!)

@41andtryingforfirst good to hear everything is looking good. Have you started the injections already? I did my first one today.

Has anyone else been feeling light headed all the time? So clumsy today (dropped a glass) and blaming it on that!

Longbin · 02/08/2022 20:44

@JP3264 so true, it's just such a long wait as well. This is a good idea though, limiting the hours of the day to do it. I'm away for a few days with no access to tests which should help! I get back the day before my early scan

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 21:07

@JP3264 had my second one today. Still really hurts! How did you get on with yours? X

OP posts:
JP3264 · 02/08/2022 21:34

@41andtryingforfirst I tried to be completely still while doing it and as long as possible afterwards and I think that really helped. It did sting a bit, taking the needle out (slowly as possible) but doesn't look bruised. Hoping that's not a fluke!

JP3264 · 02/08/2022 21:38

@41andtryingforfirst Hope you find a technique that works for you. Still can't believe we have to do this every day.

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 21:39

@JP3264 I'm getting DH to do mine as I'm a wimp! I've not had any bruising but seconds after it goes in it starts burning and throbbing. I'm hoping I'll get used to it soon. Are you injecting into your thigh? X

OP posts:
JP3264 · 02/08/2022 22:19

@41andtryingforfirst No, I'm doing them in the tummy (plenty of padding there). Not wanting to do them yourself doesn't make you a wimp! DH did my first IVF injections and I honestly thought he'd do them all. I couldn't stop shaking when I did my first one, but it felt normal strangely quickly. Not sure if this one is the same, but some drugs really irritate just under the skin, so being slow to push in the liquid and slow to withdraw the needle might help (if you're not doing that already). Hope it goes better tomorrow!

limoncelloo · 02/08/2022 22:45

Had my second bloods back from yesterday, HCG now at 14900 😱

They were 1426 last Wednesday.

In a bit worried it's going up too quickly! X

3rdtimelucky2022 · 03/08/2022 07:36

Finally got my elusive 3+ today!! I am now stopping myself from testing…have spent way too much money on tests and I know from my last pregnancy that it’s no guarantee. Took a little photo as a momento of all my tests 😅

@3rdtimelucky2022 congrats!

So I've got to 5+4. Last time I MC at 5+3 so this is the most pregnant I've ever been. Another milestone passed.

A question about symptoms - so I only really have the mega bloat and the dreaded cramping and constant brown bleeding (that I don't think is ever going to go away). Not sure if it's a symptom but also wake stupidly early every day and have night sweats.

When does nausea normally start? Haven't really had any yet (not that I want it but it might be reassuring to have it?). X

faithtrustandpixiedust · 03/08/2022 10:46

@41andtryingforfirst congrats on your milestone! I seem to have permanent bloat too, I'm just 5 weeks today and have had nausea for about a week now, last pregnancy it really ramped up around 9/10 weeks then calmed down about 14 weeks, I'm okay with that as long as I'm not actually sick.

41andtryingforfirst · 03/08/2022 11:55

@faithtrustandpixiedust so sorry you've got nausea already! I wonder when mine will kick in 🤔

Hi all!

just checking on to say hi as I haven’t been very active on the thread recently - mostly because I’m sat analysing every little feeling just waiting for something to go wrong!

sending lots of love to everyone who’s is having a difficult time.

xx

3rdtimelucky2022 · 03/08/2022 12:11

Im 5+1 and no proper nausea yet. I keep comparing it to my last pregnancy as I think I had more nausea by this point but that pregnancy ended in MC so who knows!! I definitely have food aversions though. I usually have porridge every morning but cannot face it. Just want to eat beige food, crisps and ice lollies which is normal for me in pregnancy!

I have an early scan a week today so just counting down the days now.

Longbin · 03/08/2022 14:32

Just got my 3+ at 4+5. So relieved. I'm also going to stop testing now!

Loz365 · 03/08/2022 15:58

Not good news today, EPU confirmed I'm having a miscarriage. 5+4 today. Devastated.

I'm going to step away from MN for a while, best of luck to all of you and wishing you all happy and healthy pregnancies. I hope I'll be back here soon with a successful pregnancy.

Wouldloveanother · 03/08/2022 16:20

So sorry to hear that Loz, that must be so disappointing 😞 sending you lots of luck for the next part of your ttc journey xx

limoncelloo · 03/08/2022 16:33

So sorry to hear this @Loz365. Please take care of yourself ❤️

limoncelloo · 03/08/2022 16:34

Got my first midwife booking in appointment on the 17th, has anyone else heard about theirs yet? X

faithtrustandpixiedust · 03/08/2022 16:43

So sorry Loz ☹️ take care x

@limoncelloo yes have my first appointment on the 29th and 12 week scan booked in too which I didn't think they'd book until I'd seen the midwife

ANiceBigCupOfTea · 03/08/2022 16:53

I'm so glad to hear things are going good @41andtryingforfirst!
Just to update, I ended up in hospital last night as I was in so much pain I thought I must be having an ectopic- turns out its a nasty old kidney infection so I'm feeling sorry for myself and taking antibiotics!
I'm 5 weeks today, and I mc at this stage last year. My boobs have been really tender but don't feel just as tender now so I'm worried this is it 😢 but I tested positive at the hospital last night and got 2-3 weeks on a CB digital this morning so all I can do is hope

41andtryingforfirst · 03/08/2022 17:01

@Loz365 oh my goodness I'm so sorry. I really had my fingers crossed for you. Sending you loads of love xxxx

Gingermango · 03/08/2022 18:13

@Loz365 sorry to hear that, good luck with your ttc journey.

@limoncelloo I had a letter today, my booking app was the 15th but I’ve changed it to the 12th as I fly to Fuertaventura on the 15th. I think my fist scan will be around Sep 19th

41andtryingforfirst · 03/08/2022 18:18

@ANiceBigCupOfTea ah no how frightening for you! I hope the antibiotics kick in soon as you really don't need that on top of everything else! How are you feeling now?

Today has been a difficult day. Sorry if this is TMI but I went for a number 2 and then had loads of this black stringy discharge. Then went for a shower and loads of clumps came out. No blood just this black jelly blob stuff. I've now had this dark brown spotting for 2 weeks with still no idea what it is. I know I had the positive news at the EPU on Monday but just feel like my joy was short lived. I do want to see a heartbeat on Monday.

This is so hard. I'm so scared of MC after what happened in May/June.

Sorry - just having a weak moment 😢
