Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Welcome and congratulations to all the new joiners!

@36and4th I'm so sorry. I've also had more bleeding overnight, and I did another test this morning which seems much lighter so I'm going to call EPU and hopefully they'll see me today.

36and4th · 02/08/2022 07:28

@Loz365 thank you x
And I'm so sorry, I hope they will see you today and everything is okay for you xx

I have the same age children as you ! I’m 38 due 2nd April I have my booking in app this morning can’t believe how quick they are seeing me ! Already have scan date through aswell x

gogogotop · 02/08/2022 08:23

Hi all,

I am 4 weeks tomorrow and excited.
I have a 5 year old and didn't join any groups, or apparently worry as much, as I didn't really know or certainly didn't worry about chemicals. 5 years of mumsnet later and sadly have seen so many chemicals discussed that I don't think I will be able to relax and enjoy this pregnancy any time soon.
So sorry for those of you that are going through this. Xx

@40ANDTRYING 3 months and counting til I'm 40! 😪

I was 40 in Nov last year - not going to lie, it really bothered me turning 40. I think it was the thought of my biological clock ticking away.

Gingermango · 02/08/2022 09:31

I’m quite nervous this time round. I thought I was done with my last, but then life happens and I ended up divorced and I met someone else. My partner and I have been together three years, and have both said we wanted another one at some point but in all honesty I didn’t think it would happen. I was diagnosed with pcos about five years ago and have been on the mini pill for three years.
I had my eldest when I was 17 so have always been the ‘young mum’ so it’s a bit nerve wracking to be starting the process again 😂
I’m still waiting on my appointments but I think they will book me in around 8 weeks, very tempted to have a private scan though as I know being over 35 can increase the chance of multiples 😳

Ginmonkey84 · 02/08/2022 09:54

Just quickly catching up @36and4th and @Saribon your both in my thoughts and hopefully you can join us next month. Gutted for you both. Take care of yourselves 💕

@41andtryingforfirst that’s amazing news on your scan hopefully your feeling a little more at ease.

Hi to everyone that’s joined!

AFM not very much going on at my end and I’m not complaining. I’ve not tested again either and booked my early scan for the 19th. Just need to sit on my hands and wish the next two weeks away. This is my danger zone historically between 5 and 8 weeks (usually week 6 things start to go downhill.
So I’m trying to not focus too much on it and relax with the the view of what will be will be and do what I can to ensure I progress but ultimately it’s in the hands of nature. Keeping myself busy and hope it flies in. X

Wouldloveanother · 02/08/2022 09:55

Hi ladies! Those of you who have phoned the GP, what was their response? I have very complex pregnancies due to medical conditions, I phoned yesterday but was just told it would be added to my notes and that was it.

Ginmonkey84 · 02/08/2022 09:55

@Loz365 thinking of you. Hope everything goes okay x

Longbin · 02/08/2022 09:58

@Wouldloveanother same response for me too. I contacted the consultant I saw before I was discharged and they are seeing me at 8 weeks though. GP isn't interested

limoncelloo · 02/08/2022 10:02

Trying to catch up

@41andtryingforfirst great news ❤️

@36and4th & @Saribon so sorry to read this. Baby dust to you both and please come back and join us xx

limoncelloo · 02/08/2022 10:04

@Loz365 good luck, hope epu manage to see you today ❤️

And welcome to everyone else that has joined!

@Wouldloveanother I let my GP know a couple of weeks ago, and said my name would be put on the list for the midwife and I should expect a call at some point but haven't heard anything yet. I'm back at the GP tomorrow so I'll ask again. Being only 5ish weeks I suppose I shouldn't expect to hear for a while, thinking back to my last pregnancy it was about 8 weeks or so x

Thanks, I just rang the consultant and left a message. I guess they’ll get back to me if they feel they need to 🤷🏼‍♀️

I. Am. So. Tired! Currently working from home but just want to crawl under a blanket and spend the day napping and reading my kindle 💤

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 11:31

@Wouldloveanother that's what they were like with me in the last pregnancy and then it went tits up.

This time I've learnt to push for what I need and harass them until I get it. Not in a nasty way - but I've been very clear about the impact of worrying on my health and my baby's health and I've cried.... a lot.

It's a sad state of affairs that this is what you have to do to get the correct level of care but the NHS is so overwhelmed that it has become necessary. It's not acceptable to make people wait 6 weeks or 8 weeks or whatever if the patient believes that delaying care would have a detrimental impact on them or their baby. We deserve better and have to hold the health practitioners accountable for this.

I'm sure that my GP, the midwife, the EPU, the ante-natal team and the rheumatologist will be thrilled to see the back of me once baby is here and all is well 😂. But if being super insistent and ever present is what it takes to give me and my baby the best shot then I'll keep "annoying them" until I don't need to anymore.

It's not ok that something has to go wrong in one pregnancy in order to force them to listen in the next pregnancy.

So keep pushing. Hopefully they'll listen. X

Thanks everyone for all your kind words. I have an appointment at EPU tomorrow afternoon for a scan and bloods. The bright red bleeding has stopped again and I've just got brown discharge again so who knows what's going on.
I wish I hadn't done the cheapie pregnancy test, the line was so much lighter than then had been and that's what's panicked me more.
Anyway, will keep you all updated tomorrow x

Longbin · 02/08/2022 13:04

Hope it all goes well @Loz365 and the wait doesn't drag too much for you

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 13:37

@Loz365 so glad you've got an appointment. Try to stay positive and ignore the test - you know how hit and miss they can be. I'm thinking of you. Let us know how you get on x

MrsC2018 · 02/08/2022 13:54

@Loz365 I bled bright red blood and cramping with my daughter, honestly so much blood I don't know how she could possibly have survived. But she did. They never knew why either. From my (extensive) googling at the time, it's about 50/50 whether it's a miscarriage once you see bright red blood in a pregnancy. My anecdotal experience is also 50/50. Fingers crossed luck is on your side 🤞

Longbin · 02/08/2022 17:39

I feel like I'm obsessed with trying to get 3+ on a clear blue. Im not even 5 weeks yet. When I had a MMC it never progressed that far so now im testing every day 😩

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 18:13

@Longbin someone in the group shared this link. It's really helpful. community.whattoexpect.com/forums/december-2015/topic/interesting-info-about-weeks-estimator.html

@41andtryingforfirst I was relying on this flats time but unfortunately in my case it was actually a miscarriage and that's why it never progressed. I had a scan done because it wasn't progressing. I'm just hoping I get it in the next week, these tests are costing me a fortune!

Longbin · 02/08/2022 18:44

That should say last time!

41andtryingforfirst · 02/08/2022 18:45

@Longbin yup totally understand. I had a MC 2 days after I got my 3+ last time and it cost way too much money for no better result 😢
