Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

@ANiceBigCupOfTea thank you. That's great news on the test.

I've had some more brown/pinkish blood. And my tests haven't got any stronger. I've ordered a blood test. But nothing really is gonna help. Just have to wait and see.

@Saribon how was EPU today?

I hope everyone is well xx

Saribon · 01/08/2022 17:12

@41andtryingforfirst I am so pleased and relieved to hear that for you lovely! Keep going, keep resting and taking care of yourself and cooking that baby.

I don’t have good news I’m afraid . I had to give them a urine sample first off and it provided a negative sample of their machine so that means they won’t even run bloods! So it’s game over for me I’m afraid. I have to feel grateful that it hasn’t dragged on for weeks. I’m going to start trying again and you never know I might be catching you all up soon. If I’m lucky enough to get caught on next cycle I’m just going to pretend I’m due April and stick with you lot cos you have been wonderful

I feel sad but not devastated. My partner is heartbroken but optimistic and we’ve just agreed to take care of one another and put all our energy into trying again

I’ll keep checking in with you all.

xxx

Loz365 · 01/08/2022 17:33

@Saribon oh I'm so so sorry 😔 take care of yourself xx

@41andtryingforfirst that's great news! How great that they were able to see baby! I have everything crossed for you!

I've had a tiny bit of brown discharge this afternoon. Not had anything since I first found out a week and a half ago. Desperately praying it doesn't turn into anything more 🤞😔 11 days and counting until my first scan, every day feels like a lifetime...

Longbin · 01/08/2022 17:47

@Saribon sorry to hear this. Hopefully you can join us next month!

41andtryingforfirst · 01/08/2022 18:48

Hi lovelies

Here's my update. I spent the whole DAY at the hospital (plus last night in A and E 😢).

So as you know, EPU went well. This entire pregnancy I've bled and cramped throughout yet this little bean has still been growing. I hope that helps to reassure anyone who is spotting. I'm still taking things one day at a time as things could change but for now all good. I've got my six week scan next Monday. I should see a heartbeat hopefully at that scan.

Then I went to ante-natal. I was there for AGES as my carbon monoxide test keeps flashing red even though neither I or my husband smoke?? Anyway I've now got to inject myself with blood thinners daily. And it bloody hurts for ages after you inject it. Still, it'll be worth it. It was awesome getting to walk into ante-natal - it's my first time. Last pregnancy I only got as far as EPU. So it felt like another milestone achieved 😊

What an emotional rollercoaster this time is eh?

@Saribon I'm so sorry. I'm so glad you have your partner's love and support through this time. We will still all be here for you and I'd love to learn how things progress for you! Sending baby dust your way lovely.

@Loz365 try not to panic - look at miss bleedy mcbleederson here!! 😂. I've had blood all colours of the rainbow and baby is still hanging on for now. If you're really nervous then just tell EPU that there has been more than just a little bit. They should scan you then but in my area you have to go to your GP first. It might put your mind at ease just to go and get examined by the GP as if they tell you your cervix is closed then you know things are ok. Even if you just go to the GP that might help manage your anxiety whilst you're waiting for more news.

Just going to finish cooking dinner and I'll comment more in a bit xx

@41andtryingforfirst and @Longbin thank you. I’m going to lurk around in here to see how you all get on. I’m rooting for you all!! April babies were hard work but def will be worth it x

41andtryingforfirst · 01/08/2022 19:16

@36and4th how are you getting on? Are you feeling ok? Xx

40ANDTRYING · 01/08/2022 19:17

Can I join - I’m 40 and 4+0 today. Found out on Saturday and have already done 5 tests. I’m so worried the little one won’t stick.
This is my first pregnancy. I saw my dr 3 weeks ago and I told her I wanted to start TTC and was there anything I needed to consider. So said 40+ have a 5% chance of conceiving, so to say I’m pretty shocked to conceive on the first try would be an understatement and I’m so worried something is going to go wrong. I don’t have a drs appointment until 15/08 so I’ve got a couple more anxiety filled weeks to come.

36and4th · 01/08/2022 19:29

@Saribon I'm so sorry! Wishing you all the best and baby dust for the future x

@41andtryingforfirst they are some big milestones! I'm so pleased baby is hanging on!
I'm feeling okay. The spotting has been on and off, same with the cramps. I'm resolved to the fact it's the end this time. Too early for me to go to EPU, so I'm on my own really. I've ordered one of those blood tests that you send in, but I think baby will have gone by then. If it hangs around I have a private scan booked for next Wednesday. So it's still wait and see. I'm not hopeful though xx

Losd · 01/08/2022 19:31

Can I join too? 38 and 4 weeks 5 days just now, due 5/4/23. I have my first scan in 2.5 weeks and I’m on tenterhooks as I have a history of multiple miscarriages. My boobs have been killing me but tonight they’re not so I’m not feeling as optimistic as I was this morning

36and4th · 01/08/2022 19:31

@Loz365 try not to panic! You've got this and baby is here to stay x

41andtryingforfirst · 01/08/2022 19:36

@40ANDTRYING welcome and congratulations!! Your doctor is talking complete crap! 40+ do not have only 5% chance of conceiving!! I've got pregnant twice in 3 months and it only took me 3 tries the first time! Try not to panic or worry - MC is common in any age group but the odds of not having a MC are higher! You're obviously very fertile as you caught so easily so try not to worry (says the woman who worries 😂😂). You've got this and we are here to support you xx

41andtryingforfirst · 01/08/2022 19:40

@36and4th I think the best approach is to be optimistic yet realistic. The fact it's ongoing spotting without turning into a full on bleed is good? I completely understand though - I'm hoping the blood test comes soon and provides some reassurance xx

Loz365 · 01/08/2022 20:15

@41andtryingforfirst gosh, what rollercoaster! But I'm so pleased everything is okay! And thank you so much for your positive words. The brown spotting seems to have disappeared so I'm staying hopefully 🤞
My local EPU allow you to contact them directly so if I get anything more signifiant I will definitely contact them.

@36and4th thank you for your kind words. Especially with everything you're currently going through, it really means a lot. That's frustrating that EPU won't do anything for you yet, crossing everything that the blood results are good x

36and4th · 01/08/2022 20:27

@Loz365 thank you :) That's good the brown spotting seems to have disappeared. I think it is quite normal, but it is anxiety inducing! Fingers crossed that's the last of that for you and everyone else x

MrsC2018 · 01/08/2022 20:35

Hey guys, I'm 4+0 today as well with a due date of 10th April. I'm 38 and have a teenager and a toddler already and lost my little boy in April of this year at 16 weeks. This due date is 2 days after I delivered him, to say I'm terrified of not getting this one to that date is an understatement. I'm still such a mess over losing my beautiful boy and I have his due date next month to cope with. I've bled with these last 2 pregnancies, as well. Obviously my daughter was fine and is healthy so at least in my case it's 50/50 but I just don't know if I can deal with all the stress of checking for blood and wondering what the cramping is all the time. Just praying and hoping that we can all get through this and hold our healthy babies in April ❤️

CinderellaFant · 01/08/2022 21:29

Hi @MrsC2018 I lost my baby at 12 weeks in January. My due date would be this day next week - 8th August. I am absolutely dreading it.

Huge hugs to you. I'm also really worried that something will go wrong this time and I'm quite crampy tonight and imagining the worst.

36and4th · 01/08/2022 21:50

Just a quick update. I've started bleeding proper now.. so I'm definitely out.

Wishing you all the best 😘

Matildahoney · 01/08/2022 22:13

Can I join too? Got my BFP Saturday, clear blue says 2-3 weeks, which would make conception smack bang on ovulation day to conceive!
It will be my first and I'm 39, so keeping everything crossed! Still in shock, I think I'd convinced myself it was never going to happen

40ANDTRYING · 01/08/2022 22:19

You’re the same as me, apart from a year younger 🙂🙂

Matildahoney · 01/08/2022 22:21

@40ANDTRYING 3 months and counting til I'm 40! 😪

Longbin · 01/08/2022 22:32

So sorry @36and4th xxx

bluebubbles12 · 01/08/2022 23:14

Hi, could I please join this thread and the Facebook group? 😊

I'm 5+0 today so my due date will be 3rd April. I got a faint positive at 9dpo and have tested a few times since and they're getting darker. We went on holiday on the day I got my positive so I've been able to take my mind off it, but now I'm back I came looking for a group to join!

I'm sorry to hear about the difficulties and sad losses some of you have already faced x

Gingermango · 02/08/2022 00:16

Hi All,
I’m 5+0 today, had my BFP last Tuesday. I’m 36 and a mum of three boys (18, 12 and 9), this is a surprise pregnancy but we are still very excited!!
My lovely GP has already done my prescription for Cyclizine as I had terrible sickness with my last three, and I’m going on holiday soon and didn’t want to risk it starting while I was away!
So far I have really sore boobs, almost constant nausea (no sickness yet though), lots of stretchy pains and I’m so bloated it’s unreal which made this weekend lots of fun as we were camping at Kendal Calling 🤦‍♀️
Looking forward to getting through the next eight months with you all 🥰
