Hi all

Thought I'd start a new thread. Just got my BFP. Had a MC in May so tentatively optimistic. Looks like my due date is April 1st. Would be good to get to know others in the same boat x

Hello to all the recent joiners and congrats on your BFPs! So exciting!

@ANiceBigCupOfTea wishing you all the luck in the world.

Sorry to those of you who are having a tough time. I've been there and it's horrible knowing there's nothing you can do. So glad we all have this safe space to share our experiences.

I'm 4+6 today and feel like I've been in the fourth week of pregnancy for about a month. Time has never moved so slowly!

Still not much in the way of symptoms - funny taste in mouth, sicky/achy feeling in tummy/pelvis area, but they come and go. I seem to have gone off chocolate which is very odd for me. How's everyone else doing symptom wise? Does anyone have an early scan coming up?

@41andtryingforfirst Thanks for setting up the fb group. Will it show up on my feed that I've joined it?

tulipsunday · 30/07/2022 19:34

@SearchingTheSkies I booked an early scan today for when I will be 7+2 according to last period (13th Aug) as can leave toddler with my parents for a bit that day. I do think I ovulated on later side day 17 (or possibly 16) so they might date me as slightly less which although probably accurate may worry me so not sure if good idea now or not to go 😂

Hope everyone is ok today. Getting the start of the evening tummy bloat but otherwise not v symptom-y x

limoncelloo · 30/07/2022 20:07

@SearchingTheSkies I agree time is going so slowly! I got my bfp at 9dpo so it really feels like forever, I wish time would go faster.

My scan is next Saturday at 6 weeks though I'm wondering if I've jumped the gun and I'm going to worry myself more if nothing can be seen. Then again my HCG on Weds was 1400+ and apparently you should see something on an early scan at 1500+ so I should be well beyond that in a weeks time all going well?

Symptom wise my nipples are sensitive, I'm pretty bloated, metallic taste in mouth, and feel nauseous on and off. I had severe morning sickness in my successful pregnancies so I'll actually feel better if I start throwing up I think 😂

I've got a low BMI (less than 18), so I'm really trying hard to eat as much as I can incase I do get ill.

faithtrustandpixiedust · 30/07/2022 20:53

Hi, Hope everyone is doing as okay as they can be at the moment! Sending love to those of you going through a difficult time.

@SearchingTheSkies time is definitely dragging on it feels a lot longer than 5 days ago that we got a bfp. I'm undecided wether to book a private scan or just wait it out, with my first though we booked one for when we thought I'd be around 8 weeks and it turned out that I was actually a day off 12 😅 but Ive managed to track everything this time round so should be correct (I hope)

Symptom wise I've just had nausea that seems a lot worse in the evenings and some cramping, sore boobs seem to have eased off. I've also been super emotional which I've never had before, cried at DD's ballet class this morning just because she looked so cute, must have looked like a right tit 🤣

41andtryingforfirst · 30/07/2022 20:59

@SearchingTheSkies it should show up in your notifications that you've been approved to join the group once you submit a joining request x

@SearchingTheSkies I'm 5 weeks today and I get what you mean about it dragging! I got my BFP at 13dpo and I've been desperate to reach this point 😅

Symptom wise, feeling nauseous on and off, very tired, tender boobs although not as sore.. mainly the nipples though. And just the constant feeling of bloat lol I've gone off chocolate and most meat, it just makes me gag🤣

I've got an early scan book for 10th August when I will be 6 weeks and 4 days, which I'm terrified about.. and I don't really understand why, I've had two successful pregnancies and a chemical before my eldest.. so the anxiety is a bit unwarranted, esp compared to those whose journeys have been difficult.

@limoncelloo I'm the opposite, my BMI is really high (45), so will probably struggle this pregnancy with that, I've been looking at ways of eating more healthy and possibly losing weight safely. I remember with my twins I lost 2 stone because of sickness.. and didn't really put it back on (obviously now I have).. so if I'm sick like that again it will probably be a benefit 🤣🤣

@41andtryingforfirst I’ve just requested to join the Facebook group xx

JA42 · 30/07/2022 23:21

Thank you @Loz365 and @tulipsunday and congratulations everyone.
so far I am 5 + 2 and dont really have any symptoms apart from a little cramping but otherwise feel fine. My last two pregnancies I didn’t have any symptoms.
we are planning on having the harmony test at 10ish weeks as we had to have one with our first pregnancy and now I’m a bit older 😬 hopefully just to put my mind at rest 🤞

SearchingTheSkies · 31/07/2022 06:03

@tulipsunday @limoncelloo @36and4th lovely that you've all got scans coming up soon. Fingers crossed you'll be able to see enough to put your minds at ease. I'm very tempted to book a scan, but there's nowhere particularly close to where I live. I waited until the 12 week scan last time.

@faithtrustandpixiedust Aw, it's so easy to get emotional over our little ones. I had a ridiculously emotional moment the other day, too. For some reason a letter about dd moving to the next room at nursery had me absolutely balling. I'm definitely blaming the pregnancy hormones. 😂

@JA42 is the harmony test something you get done privately?

@41andtryingforfirst sorry, I didn't phrase that very clearly. I meant will my fb friends be notified that I've joined the group? I don't want anyone to know yet so bit unsure whether to join or not. I know no one can see the group's posts etc but wasn't sure if it would show up in my list of groups I'm in or show up on my feed.

Hope everyone's having a good weekend 😊

JA42 · 31/07/2022 07:08

Hi @SearchingTheSkies, yes you can have it done privately, it’s £500 at our local fertility clinic, but I think I read somewhere that it’s available on the nhs for people who meet certain criteria

41andtryingforfirst · 31/07/2022 07:31

@SearchingTheSkies Sorry I understand now! I don't believe so - however to be doubly sure I have changed the group as invisible so only people with a link can join and I've changed the name of the group and the description so it's just a general MN chat group. X

Hello everyone and welcome and congratulations to newbies joining us.

My update - no brown blood since Thursday - just snot like CM now! I'm convinced that was remnants from the MC. The medical professionals tell me otherwise but I'm convinced they're wrong.

Bloods showed that HCG doubled from 900 to 1900 between Thurs and Sat which I'm happy about.

Got my appointment with Consultant in ante-natal tomorrow to discuss treatment plan and possible heparin injections as I've got lupus anticoagulant (sticky blood). I'm super happy about this as rheumatology and EPU weren't communicating with each other but being under ante-natal will bridge that gap.

Not sure if continued scanning will happen under EPU or ante-natal but at least someone will be doing continued repeat scans until they're certain all is ok.

It's sad that I had to lose a baby in order to obtain this enhanced care - maybe if they'd been more proactive last time rather than adopting a "wait and see" approach I might not have miscarried.

Hope you're all doing ok. @Saribon how's it going today? You feeling ok? X

Longbin · 31/07/2022 10:08

@JA42 I'm having harmony too, will you find out the gender then? I did last time but kept it in an envelope until about 14 weeks. I'm really not good at waiting 😂

Saribon · 31/07/2022 10:19

@41andtryingforfirst Good morning, I’m still bleeding red blood. Probably similar to a light period. Boobs still painful but maybe slightly not as painful as they had been? I was reading a thread about early pregnancy bleeding and someone posted about their experience of having a cyst on their cervix and I know I have a cyst on my cervix , it’s quite prominent and has been there years so I’m wondering if this might be the cause of the bleeding? It’s giving me a tiny bit of hope for now. Going to keep resting and ring EPU in the morning. I am going to take the second FRER test in the morning just to see if that’s still positive. I may as well.

Thank you for checking in with me.

I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow keep us updated and I will too

xxx

Hey everyone!

Hoping I can join this group and the FB group. Unexpectedly expecting No 4 and due April 6th I think! Tests are almost darker than the control
line at 4 weeks and just got my 3 + on a digi. I already have a set of twins who are 9 and a 2 year old. Hoping it’s not another set! Likely book for an early scan for two weeks time and then harmony at 10 weeks as I’m 38. Definitely my last time.

Sorry to hear the sad news for some of you ladies, hope next month is your month 💙

41andtryingforfirst · 31/07/2022 10:40

Welcome and congrats @Ginmonkey84. Have you got the link for the Fb group?

Is there anyone who hasn't got a 3+ yet on CB digi? I was expecting one this morning as my HCG was 1900 yesterday lunchtime. I figured I would've passed the threshold by today but I got 2-3 again 😢. I'm 5+1 today. My head is telling me that bloods are more accurate than urine tests and I need to chill out but the heart is disappointed- particularly after the 8 day bleed. X

@limoncelloo i have a BMI <18 too! It’s unusual for there to be somebody else in the group with this too. I have blamed my recurrent miscarriages on my weight and I think it makes me more anxious. I’ve been very conscious about remembering to eat frequently and it helps with the nausea so think I’m def gaining some weight already!

I have an appointment with EPU for a scan on 10th August :) It’s only 10 days but I know it’ll feel like 10 years. If it’s in the uterus and there’s a heartbeat I can then start progesterone.

my lines are still getting darker but I’m very anxious and just believe that it’s all going to go wrong…feels like so many hurdles.

4+5 today!

3rdtimelucky2022 · 31/07/2022 10:46

@41andtryingforfirst i haven’t used one since last Wednesday as I’m worried it will just stress me out! In a previous successful pregnancy it took a while to get 3+, nearer 5 and a half weeks. I have 1 left but going to save it til nearer 6 weeks as don’t want the stress/upset that a 2-3 would cause me!

Ginmonkey84 · 31/07/2022 10:47

@41andtryingforfirst i honestly think they can be hit and miss! I didn’t get 3+ with my little girl until 6 weeks hence the panic of there possibly being more than one! Your levels are amazing!

Yes I found it in the previous pages and will join now x

41andtryingforfirst · 31/07/2022 10:51

@3rdtimelucky2022 ah such good advice! I'm wishing I hadn't now. I thought it would be ok due to yesterday's bloods but yes, you are so right - it has caused stress and upset and I'm totally regretting my decision to do it today.

@Ginmonkey84 that's reassuring to know, thank you! I think you're right - it's a mass produced test and inevitable that it can be hit and miss. Just a shame they're so bloody expensive. Need to get back into positive mental attitude zone xx

@41andtryingforfirst this link https://community.whattoexpect.com/forums/december-2015/topic/interesting-info-about-weeks-estimator.htmll* is an interesting read on the clear blue weeks tests xx

limoncelloo · 31/07/2022 10:56

Morning @Saribon. You're doing well, just think one more day to get through until you can make contact with the epu and hopefully get some answers xx

Ginmonkey84 · 31/07/2022 10:57

Just as a little bit of reassurance the threshold of 3+ is 2753. I’m now on the opposite side and have ordered more hoping my 3+ is wrong! 🫣

limoncelloo · 31/07/2022 10:59

Oooo @3rdtimelucky2022 no way! It is unusual! And yes I blame many of my health problems including previous miscarriages partially on my weight.
I am doing well at the moment though with eating so I need to keep it up for as long as I can. I know a BMI lower than 18.5 is a higher risk of miscarriage which really scares me.
