@Gigi89x aww congrats on your baby boy!Im glad he got here safe in the end but sounds like you’ve been through hell and back! Sorry it was so traumatic and hope you are resting well now, Ishika had a bit of jaundice too in the beginning but not needing light therapy, they say it’s quite common with c section babies. She’s doing good thanks, been doing swimming classes and a whole load of other baby classes which keeps me very busy but is a fun busy at least x I hope your recovery is speedy and enjoy Henry xx

Overlyanxious · 21/02/2023 12:04

@Gigi89x congratulations. I'm so sorry it's not been a great start. I hope you're doing ok. It's great you are home now. Today is actually the anniversary of my embryo transfer. Seems crazy that a year later I took my baby to a sensory class. We're doing well - enjoying all the classes.

Glad to hear you're doing well @Bluehawaii29

Bluehawaii29 · 21/02/2023 12:11

@Overlyanxious aww congrats, I know it’s crazy how far we all came, so happy for us all xx my anniversary of embryo transfer is 4th March so just round the corner too, so weird how this time last year we were still praying it would work x

Bryterlayter1 · 21/02/2023 17:07

@Gigi89x Firstly, congratulations! Lovely name for a lovely boy.

Secondly, I'm so sorry you had such a rough start, a week in hospital is tough! Glad you are both okay now, hope you are being well looked after at home.

We're doing well, I've been at the cinema this afternoon with the little one. Baby cinema is one of my fav outings! Hope everyone is doing well.

xreadytoglow · 22/02/2023 22:03

Congrats on your little boy Henry @Gigi89x 🤍 sorry the birth didn't go to plan. My son had the cord round his neck too needing an EMCS.

3 months old and loving being his mummy! So lovely we all have our babies now x

@xreadytoglow @Bryterlayter1 thank you both!

Iv been struggling with the adjustment to being a mum its such a major change isn't it. Particularly with the lack of sleep, I'm feeding Henry every 3 hours - at night by the time iv fed, winded and changed him it can take 30-40 mins. Then we are due another feed in another 2 hours!

Do you have any tips on this or experience similar?

Bryterlayter1 · 27/02/2023 21:30

@Gigi89x the first few weeks are so tough. Can you do "shifts" with your other half? If you are formula or combi feeding could OH do the first or second half of the night so you can get a solid 4-5 hours. If you are breast feeding exclusively could OH do everything thing else after baby has fed during some of the feeds (e.g. wind, change and settle?). At least you might get a little bit more sleep.

Overlyanxious · 28/02/2023 09:06

@Gigi89x sorry no advice apart from the fact this is all normal. My hormones definitely made the beginning worse but they calmed down and made the lack of sleep easier.

You're actually getting more sleep then me - my baby's tummy issues make sleep tough for him so I have frequent wakings unless I let him sleep on me (so he sleeps but I don't). He's also got to the point in the evening where my partner can't help much as he gets so upset he just wants boob. So I take any sleep I can get before night time.

xreadytoglow · 28/02/2023 10:12

@Gigi89x unfortunately that's the way it goes at the beginning. The only way to get through it is what @Bryterlayter1 suggested. We worked as a team for those first 2 weeks. After that I woke my OH up for the early morning feed so she could do that before work and I stole some sleep during the day when baby was asleep!

It is a big adjustment but you will get through it 🤍

Hello everyone!!

hope all of you ladies and your bundles of joy are doing great!!

Sorry I've been MIA but life with twins while working full time is not easy lol especially working from home (there's nowhere to escape lol)

@Gigi89x I know it's hard (with two we could not take turns so it was virtually not sleeping for week lol) but hang in there there's light at the end of the tunnel, my girls are already sleeping 5-6 hours at night and that to me feels like a full night sleep already lol

Sleep deprivation can also make you feel a bit down so be extra gentle with yourself and know this newborn stage will be over soon (I'm not gonna say enjoy it while it lasts bc I couldnt wait to get out of it either lol)

My girls are now thriving, Savannah rolled over at the tender age of 2 months (just when they had started sleeping 5-6h stretches lol) so we had to spend a week transitioning them from swaddle to sacks..let me tell you, ladies..that wasnt fun lol but they are now sleeping better than ever. Savannah is super advanced when it comes to physical milestones and Siena is the one hitting all the communication ones, she is always "talking' interacting and smiling!

I love being a mum of these two little ladies! Hope you are all enjoying your experience as well! hugs and kisses!

Awww your girls are gorgeous @bajanbump !! I know the feeling with transitioning from swaddling to sacks 😩 we are around 2 weeks into it and it's better but not by much. He gets more sleep than I do because I spend most of the night pinning his arms down! 😂 they sound like they're doing really well. I bet those newborn days were super tough.

@Bluehawaii29 aww she is beautiful 🥰 glad you're both doing well.

This is my boy Atticus, he's 15 weeks now.

@xreadytoglow thank you :) xx your boy is a cutie too!

bajanbump · 01/03/2023 21:49

Aww! @Bluehawaii29 @xreadytoglow they are so cute!!

@all I was thinking..why do you guys think about starting a whatsapp group to support each other through motherhood? It would be a shame to lose the friendship and support we had over these months, or at least for me!

I still go online daily to search for things my babies do or I have doubts with so thought it would be great to have a space to share it and also share emotional support!

Gigi89x · 01/03/2023 23:04

@bajanbump im definitely in for the whatsapp group! Its been great chatting to you all for so long

@Bluehawaii29 @bajanbump @Bryterlayter1 your babies are beautiful!

Bluehawaii29 · 18/03/2023 07:14

@Gigi89x am happy to be signed up x
ive got a couple of WhatsApp groups already with mums friends but this one would be very unique in that we all went through a similar start to get our babies and would be nice to continue our journey together xx

bajanbump · 07/07/2023 23:54

@Overlyanxious hi!!!! We are thinking about using 1 of our 4 embryos next year LOOOL hoping for a boy but happy with a third girl as well!

I mean.. i love these babies so much I can't help but wanting to bring one more.

These are my girls :) They love cuddling, and giving kisses, they say Dada and iaia (grandma in Catalan) but not yet mama 😅

They love avocado, broccoli and mango but hate hate hate salmon LOL

How are your little ones doing?

Bluehawaii29 · 08/07/2023 07:27

@Overlyanxious @bajanbump heyy nice to hear from you guys! Haha still want to wait for the next one, way too soon! My girl is keeping us so busy, she’s like a girl and boy in one, so cheeky and rough and tumble but so cute as well. Couldn’t have asked for anyone else and would be fine with one and done now but we have 2 more frozen embryos so just gonna see what happens, thinking maybe when she’s 2 to try with them as find it too intense having two small babies. Don’t know how you are doing it @bajanbump ishika says mama and dada now but tends to say mama only when crying whereas dada she says all the time when happy. she is crawling and pulling to stand now so nowhere is safe! I been chasing her all week and exhausted, thought of another baby right now scares me haha . @bajanbump your girls are so cute 😍 @Overlyanxious how is your little man? X

Overlyanxious · 08/07/2023 09:41

@bajanbump oh they are too adorable. I can see why you would want another.

@Bluehawaii29 that's great to hear your little one is doing well. I feel your pain on all the moving. My little one is constantly crawling and pulling up on everything. He is a nightmare for trying to play with wires and shoes. He's loving his food as well. Sleep however still isn't great. I'm going back to work in just over a week which I'm sad about but my wife is taking the rest of the time off so it will be good for the two of them to have so much time together.

2mumlife · 16/07/2023 14:07

Hi everyone! Great to hear how others are getting on and that others have started talking about siblings!

@bajanbump your girls are so gorgeous!

@Bluehawaii29 Great to hear you’re doing so well!

@Overlyanxious Im starting phased return soon and partner will be taking some time off to look after our daughter until September when she starts nursery

We we’re talking about a sibling round but I think I want to hold off a bit longer - I don’t want to wean early or risk a drop in supply becoming pregnant, and I’ve realised popping onto the threads that I’m not mentally ready for fertility treatment again yet. So I think I’ll just focus on getting settled back into work and getting my clingy baby ok with nursery first…. 🤦‍♀️
