@bajanbump congratulations on your beautiful twins, they look a really good weight! wow am so sorry to hear the birth was so traumatic and nothing like you had expected. I know it must be hard to forget but try and focus on the two little miracles and give yourself time to recover physically and mentally too. I hope you have enough help in the beginning xx

Gigi89x · 26/11/2022 10:29

@bajanbump congratulations your babies are beautiful!!! I hope your getting plenty of rest to recover from your csection xx 💐

Overlyanxious · 30/11/2022 12:37

@bajanbump congratulations on the birth of your twins. They are adorable. I'm sorry to hear though that your birth was stressful. I hope you are feeling ok now and enjoying all the newborn snuggles

bajanbump · 30/11/2022 14:35

thank you all!!

babies are doing great, Siena gained 100g in 2 days after leaving the hospital (we left at 1.995) and Savannah is gaining well too (not that fast bc she was bigger to start with)

I am trying to forget the birth and the things that could have been done better and just focus on the positive

Although we have had some rough nights the girls are in general very well-behaved, as you can see they have already started to help me catch up with work (still 2 more weeks of maternity leave, but freelancer life nonetheless lol)

I hope everyone is doing well with their babies ☺️

Overlyanxious · 19/12/2022 16:33

@Gigi89x I'm doing well thanks - it's exhausting but I love having my baby - still can't quite believe he's mine. How are you doing? How many weeks are you now?

Gigi89x · 22/12/2022 00:00

@Overlyanxious did you have a boy or girl? Sorry lost track of all the babies!! 😁 I'm 32+5 . Baby as of yesterday now weighs 4.7lb x

Gigi89x · 22/12/2022 00:01

@Gigi89x good thanks - still not having great sleep but he's smiling so much and started babbling which is adorable. How are you? How many weeks now?

Gigi89x · 23/01/2023 19:02

@Overlyanxious thats so lovely to hear!!!, how old is he now?

Im 37 weeks now , it feels so surreal to think in a few weeks il finally meet my baby!

Bryterlayter1 · 23/01/2023 21:30

@Gigi89x we're great thanks! I was thinking about you the other day wondering how far along you were. Not long now! You'll have to come back and update us all once baby has arrived.

@Overlyanxious how lovely! My little one is babbling away too, it's so adorable isn't it?

Gigi89x · 23/01/2023 22:02

@Bryterlayter1 so lovely to hear your baby babbling away thats so cute!
Im getting nervous now - could be any moment i guess!! Remind me did you have a c section or normal birth?

Bryterlayter1 · 23/01/2023 23:03

@Gigi89x I had a planned c section because of gestational diabetes. What are you hoping for?

Gigi89x · 24/01/2023 10:44

@Bryterlayter1 i was hoping for a normal birth in a birthing pool if I'm lucky & don't end up being induced!

Bluehawaii29 · 24/01/2023 21:20

@Gigi89x hiya! Wow you’re nearly there, can’t believe how fast time went, my little one is gonna be 3 months next week :) she is a fun loving, smiling and curious little cutie. Enjoying every moment of mat leave with her and you have it all to look forward to! X I hope you get to have the natural birth you want and wish you luck with it all, can’t wait to hear about her x

Overlyanxious · 25/01/2023 11:58

@Gigi89x he is 11 weeks now. Actually managed a good nights' sleep now he's been prescribed gaviscon. Poor baby has had lots of tummy issues. Time feels like it's going too fast.

So exciting you haven't got long to go now. I hope you get the birth you want. Have you read up on c sections in case it ends up that way. I didn't plan to have one but did and I'm glad I had done some prep as it made it less stressful.

@Bryterlayter1 and @Bluehawaii29 glad to hear everything is going well with you.

Bluehawaii29 · 25/01/2023 13:35

@Overlyanxious @Bryterlayter1 good to hear you are both doing well too xx

Gigi89x · 25/01/2023 19:18

I cant believe your babies are 3 months old!! @Bluehawaii29 @Bryterlayter1
Im so glad to hear your enjoying mat leave and having a lovely time with your babies

@Bryterlayter1 im ok with a csection, i did read up on it and been to antenatal classes which covered lots about csections. How long was your recovery? Any advice regarding csections @Bluehawaii29 @Bryterlayter1 you both had them? Xx

Bryterlayter1 · 25/01/2023 20:06

@Gigi89x I found the recovery from the c section itself absolutely fine. Not too much discomfort at all. I had a rare complication from the spinal anesthetic which was a problem but it is unlikely to be an issue for you.

I hope all goes to plan and you get to have the water birth.

Bluehawaii29 · 26/01/2023 07:47

@Gigi89x hiya the c section was pretty good, was doing things very fast and didn’t feel like it stopped me from doing anything or being able to look after my baby but just was a bit unlucky in that I got a wound infection so there is a little spot on the edge which still can scab but apart from that the scar is healed. I was just given some antibiotic cream for the scab bit but I’ve got a dr appt next week to show them if I don’t think it’s improving

Overlyanxious · 26/01/2023 11:45

@Gigi89x I also had a c section. I found the first few days painful getting out of bed and getting up from a chair and I couldn't walk too far for a couple of weeks. I only needed paracetamol for a couple of days for the pain. Just need to listen to your body really - I found I ached and bled more if I did too much. My wife did an emergency big pant purchase before I got out of hospital as I didn't have any that went above where the scar was. Big pants and loose trousers are needed. Also anything you need easy access to should be put somewhere which means you don't need to bend down or get down onto the floor and up again.

Gigi89x · 28/01/2023 19:01

@Bluehawaii29 @Overlyanxious thanks both for the C-section info & tips- its good to hear from those who have experienced it!! Im glad your both doing well X

Overlyanxious · 14/02/2023 09:48

@Gigi89x how are you doing?

Gigi89x · 21/02/2023 06:51

@Overlyanxious @Bluehawaii29 @Bryterlayter1 @bajanbump @xreadytoglow i was induced on my due date due to excess amniotic fluid, which turned into an emergency c-section on the 13th feb. Turns out my baby had the cord twice round his neck! So relieved to say baby is fine now!

Iv been in hospital for a week as i developed a severe bladder infection and was in terrible pain, along with c-section pain! Its been the worst ever tbh! Then my baby got jaundice and needed to be under light therapy for 24 hours! His jaundice levels are fine now and we were eventually home after 1 week!

I had a baby boy named Henry, weighing 7lb 9 oz 🥰

How is everyone doing with their babies?
