When discussing induction they said they would be giving me like a tampon? and then make me stay overnight in the hospital to add oxytocin a few hours later, and then if things don't start going they will do a c-section.

@bajanbump yes, it's like a flat tampon. I was originally told I would have to stay overnight but today they said I could go home. If nothing happens after 24 hours then I'll be given the gel which is stronger and I will have to stay in then. I think that gets monitored over 6 hours. I'm not sure what happens if the gel doesn't do anything.

Induction has been scheduled for the 23rd! Girls are in the 47% and 78% (one seems to have eaten more than the other these past two weeks lol) and they weigh 4.7 lbs and 5.4lbs

They also said that if they came now they would most likely be okey so I might start using the birthing ball this weekend and increasing my walking, it would be ideal if they came naturally a few days earlier than the 23rd so I can skip the induction part.

Thanks @bajanbump and @xreadytoglow still not much to report. I went back into hospital at 1pm. Then everything took a while and got given the gel about 3.30pm. Have been told to walk up stairs and bounce on the ball. Hopefully will see a Dr tonight who will either say my waters can be broken because I'm dilated enough or will give me more of the gel. I've got a tiny bit of cramping but nothing is really happening. I think I've still got a long time here.

@bajanbump good idea to start doing stuff to help get the babies ready to come out.

I hope the second lot of gel works for you or you can have your waters broken! Must be frustrating having to wait in the hospital but at least you are hours or days away now from meeting your little one 🥰 @Overlyanxious

That's great about babies looking good @bajanbump must be really reassuring to hear. I hope things start naturally for you!

I got a bit of a smear .. My cervix is still quite high so she could only reach the front part of it but she gave it a good go (ouch 🥲)! I bled a bit afterward but I do have cervical erosion and normally bleed during smears, so not really reading much into that other than she was obviously in the right spot. She said she could feel his head pushing against her as she was doing it which is good but she couldn’t really say that what she did today would really do anything. I have potentially another one on Friday and definitely one next Tuesday, but I think they'll start pushing for me to book to be induced next Thursday if nothings happened by the end of this week. They only let you go 12 days over here.

@Overlyanxious fingers crossed the gel starts to kick in. Come on baby time to make an appearance.

@xreadytoglow really hoping things start to happen for you soon. I find the waiting hard (even though I have a date).

Unfortunately on my second dose of the gel. Only just got seen by the Dr. He said he'll be back around 8/9am

Thank you @xreadytoglow so I've been contracting but no change at all with cervix so I'm having a c section tomorrow. Hopefully will be able to get in early tomorrow.

Thank you @bajanbump and @Gigi89x I'm not sure how long my cervix was - they did say it had shortened but was still closed. Although I have contractions they aren't strong enough to open it up

when I had contractions on sat and they checked my cervix it was a finger tip dilated and then the c section happened that morning. Probably was easier for me to dilate having a short cervix to begin with but if there was no change it’s good they are going for c section now

Baby boy (we only found out the sex today) arrived safe and sound. After all that worry that he would be huge due to the gestational diabetes, he was 8 lbs 7 oz, which is big ish but not massive.

Hope all went well with @Overlyanxious yoday.

Congratulations @Bryterlayter1. My baby boy was born at 11.19 and weighed 7lb6.
