Congratulations on your positive @Stephanie226

I understand how you feel ♥️I am 5 weeks today after having a mmc at 9 weeks in May. I’m on constant knicker watch, googling every symptom and testing every day to make sure there’s still a line.
I have no advice on how to stop worrying, but you are not alone x

Congrats 😁😁 x. I'm 4 weeks 2 days according to app but I will be booking a reassurance scan for nearer the end of July. I feel very pregnant so hopefully that's a good sign 🤞🏼 I actually felt like I didn't even need to do a test... I absolutely knew x

Congratulations @Stephanie226! I just got my bfp this morning (3.5ish weeks) and am alternating between being over the moon and absolutely terrified – my sister in law has just had an early miscarriage and it feels like SO many pregnancies end in loss 😣Even though I'm only 28 I also have a load of existing health issues, so I have no idea how I'm going to get through the coming weeks! 😳It's at least comforting to know worrying is normal 🙈

Omg congrats... that's great news!! Ohh I've defo hit the terrified stage, last night I had a horrid dream I miscarried and stuff. I'm booking a scan for beginning of august so I will be 8 weeks just for some reassurance but that seems so long away x

Eurgh it's so nerve-racking isn't it?! Is that a private scan? I haven't done anything yet – I'm planning to call the doc today and hopefully tell my husband later when he's back from work, but everything feels like tempting fate!!

Stephanie226 · 13/07/2022 20:59

@SC21 How did hubby take the news? Yeah it's a private scan, I can't resist 😂😂 I also phoned the early pregnancy unit today and registered so a midwife will phone me in the next week or 2. I've had the most horrific headache now for 2 days, don't want to take paracetamol so trying to sit it out but I can't describe the pain! x

@Stephanie226 Well he was definitely a bit shocked (we'd only just started trying, and all the women in my family have had fertility issues), but overall a really lovely reaction 😊I def feel better now that SOMEONE knows – though I'm already suffering so much with nausea that's kind of overshadowing everything at the moment! I'm not even 4 weeks – if it's already this bad now, how bad is it going to get?! 😫Ahh I must admit I took paracetamol the other day – I know in general the fewer medications the better, but everything I've read says paracetamol is one of the safest ones in pregnancy. I need to do a referral for a midwife too... I'm just so scared of jinxing things! How are you feeling at the moment? Do you have many symptoms?

Aw I'm so glad it worked out then, we were first month trying too so the shock still got us even though it's what we had been trying for 😂 I'm ok, it's just the headache, not experienced anything like it before. Tiredness is quite bad but I'm still jet lagged from my honeymoon this week so hopefully it's just that and it eases off. We are telling our 12 year old tomorrow so we can stop whispering and panicking every time we talk about it xx

@Stephanie226 We're exactly the same – even though it was what we were consciously aiming for it still wasn't what we were expecting! 😂Ahh if it stays bad can you speak to your doctor to get some reassurance on what you can/can't take? I know some women get really bad headaches/migraines with the hormones changing and you don't want to keep suffering if you don't have to. We've just come back from our honeymoon too! Well, we got back two weeks ago (this is a proper honeymoon baby 🙈). Where did you go? Good luck telling your 12yo! So exciting xx

Ours is a wedding baby 😂😂 we were on a caribbean cruise, found out while we were there 😁. Telling the family at the weekend too, I should really wait but I can't lie to save myself so they'll wonder why I don't feel well and things, plus I want to be able to moan to my mum when I need to 😂 what's your due date going to be? xx

@Stephanie226 Ahh that's so nice! I have the same dilemma RE telling people – we're meant to be having a meal with my family this weekend and I really didn't want to say anything this early, but I already feel so ill I'm not sure how I'm going to be able to hide it 😫I definitely don't think I'll be waiting until the 10-12 weeks I had in my head. We have quite a lot of stuff planned for about week 7 which I highly doubt I'm going to up for doing now, but there's no way I can pull out without giving a bloody good reason 😕Online calculators reckon 23rd/24th March (my last cycle started really late in the evening so don't know whether to count that as day one or not!). What about you? xx

Don't rule anything out until the time comes. I have plans too which involve drinking so I wasn't going to be able to get away with waiting until 12 weeks. People know if I don't have a Prosecco in hand then there's something wrong 😂 I'm due 15th march just now but I think it might change by day or 2 as I think I ovulated a bit earlier than I should have. Its nice having a wee baby buddy... we can compare sickness and headaches 😂😂 x

@Stephanie226 Yeah we're planning to go, I've just warned my mum I might not be eating much!! I've given the excuse of ongoing stomach issues, which is actually true – the GP did a gastroenterology referral about a month ago because I was having issues prior to getting pregnant (gastritis/reflux, possibly other things), but I have no idea what they'll be able to do now. As thrilled as I am to have got a positive so quickly, I am concerned that I now have no way of knowing how much is pregnancy symptoms and how much is potentially serious underlying stuff!! If there is gastritis etc I should be on PPIs, but I don't want to be on anything that's not absolutely essential because of the pregnancy – so difficult! 😫Ha yes being off the prosecco might be a bit of a giveaway if you're out with friends! It is so nice having someone to talk to as well, especially during these first weeks when it's not common knowledge!😊 xx

Ring your GP and explain how your feeling and see what the plan can be, maybe your midwife could keep a closer eye on you and she'll maybe be able to be clearer about what's pregnancy symptoms and what's your other problems. I have fibromyalgia so I'm expecting a lot of pain etc in this pregnancy which is maybe why my head is so bad but I will speak to midwife once she calls me next week and see what she says x

Yeah I should do – I actually looked at appts earlier but the earliest they have is the start of August! 😳I always think if I wait they'll have a cancellation, but I should probably just go ahead and book one. Ahh one of my close friends has fibromyalgia – I know it can be really debilitating. Hopefully you don't suffer too much with it xx

Make the appointment and then if a cancellation comes up then change it. Oh god does she, it's awful some days but some days I'm fine. I'm quite strict with exercise so when I stop that usually when I'm worse. I'm not sure if I should be doing my usual workouts just now or changing them. My midwife will hate me when I hit her with 101 questions 😂😂 xx

Yeah you're right. Haha that's what they're there for, don't feel bad for asking questions! What sort of workouts do you normally do? I normally do pretty heavy weightlifting (I have osteoporosis so have worked really hard to build my strength up) but right now that doesn't feel that smart – and I'm not sure I could with how I'm feeling anyway! xx

Yeah I love weight workouts, I have an app by a PT called Courtney Black, her workouts are amazing but she also has a trainer on it for pre and post pregnancy weight workouts so Gona try one of them x. Good on you for working out with the osteoporosis x

Interesting – I might check her out! I think in general they say if you're used to exercising you can continue with most of the things you normally would, as long as you feel up to it. It's definitely meant to be a good thing, exercising to some degree! How did your 12yo take the news? xx

We are telling him today.. I'm so nervous. I don't think anyone will expect us to be pregnant cos of how old he is so it's going to be a shock. My mum and dad invited us round this afternoon for Prosecco so we can show them the wedding photos so we are just going to tell them as well today. Exciting weekend ahead hopefully 😂😂. I can't remember if you said but is this your first? x

Ooh good luck!! I told one of my managers at work yesterday because I was feeling so unwell and didn't think I'd be able to hide it for long, but we're not planning to tell anyone else for at least a few weeks – it's so hard!

Yes it is our first 😊Originally we always said we wanted a year or two after the wedding to enjoy it being just us, but then bloody covid delayed the wedding by 2 years and other factors (ageing parents, health issues, possibility of fertility problems etc) meant we didn't feel we should wait that long! Did you always want two children? xx

Stephanie226 · 15/07/2022 12:32

I was 18 when I had my son so had never really thought of another until a few years ago we said once we were married we would try for a baby 😁 didn't think we would be 3 weeks post wedding and preggers 😂 I'm 31 so thought it would take a bit longer but here we are 😂 I'm not sure when to tell my manager, she isn't the most understanding person and someone else in work is pregnant and I don't think they've made it easy with her appointments etc xx

Haha well it's a nice surprise when these things happen quicker than you're expecting! Hmm it must be tricky if you don't have a supportive manager 😕I know I'm lucky in that respect, although I'm kind of regretting saying anything to mine yesterday now as I've had a bit of light spotting this afternoon 😩I know it's quite normal at this stage (it wasn't bright red and I don't have severe cramping or anything) but I'm just so terrified of something going wrong 😳I think the next couple of months are going to go veeery slowly... xx

Stephanie226 · 16/07/2022 11:07

How's your spotting today? Hope it's stopped for now! x. Well we told the parents and they were all so shocked but so happy. I had made a nice video of our honeymoon photos so they just thought they were watching that and then the last photo was the test in the sand in a big love heart saying march 2023 💖 x
