Hi all, looks like we'll be filling up today or tomorrow. I wanted to create the thread early so we can have a link to the new one. Have a nice weekend!

How is everyone feeling today?
Took a walk into our town centre this morning with my kids, was a little bit warmer than expected, but lovely to get out for a bit. Did some shopping for baby girl, my DD loves picking out cute things for baby sister ❤️
Now just chilling with a cup of tea while the kids nap and loving the little kicks from baby girl 💖

MissC07 · 04/08/2022 14:50

Feeling a bit emotional today, went for a consultant appointment today and I have been told I need to take blood thinning injections for 6 weeks (due to family history of dvt), ended up bursting into tears infront of the consultant, poor woman was so lovely though. I've also been told I'll need additional scans and appointments which I guess is a positive at least I'm being monitored? Just really scared of self injecting 😔

tasha4eva10 · 04/08/2022 14:59

@MissC07 please don't get yourself worked up I have been on them 2 months now and need to be on them until at least February next year so a total of 8 months altogether. They're not as bad as it sounds. You feel a pinch when it goes in and sting from the liquid but you soon get used to it. Could your partner inject you instead? My partner does into my bum and I don't find it painful at all now just that few minutes of the sting and it's gone. Sometimes you will bruise but it's nothing now really xx

MissC07 · 04/08/2022 15:09

@tasha4eva10 that's really reassuring thank you so much. Think I was just having an absolutely over dramatic emotional morning, my OH said he'd do them for me which is great. I sadly lost my mum earlier this year to a PE so I think it's just hit home a bit. I guess the positive is I'll get to have more scans and monitoring x

Vg92 · 04/08/2022 15:30

@MissC07 I am on blood thinner since I understood I am pregnant, it has been lore than 4 months now. I found it easier to apply them myself but it is very individual. It is not that bad really. What's the name of yours, if you don't mind?

MissC07 · 04/08/2022 16:03

@Vg92 I've been given Inhixa

Vg92 · 04/08/2022 19:38

@MissC07 I am on the same substance, just different commercial name (clexane). It stings for few minutes but after the first weeks, it gets much much better and at the moment I don't feel it at all. Nothing to worry about that (I know it is easy said than done).

lifechanginglemoncake · 05/08/2022 16:29

Is anyone else tired again? I had about 3 or 4 weeks of being back to something like normal energy and then this week I just feel exhausted, like my whole body wants to stop and nap!

tasha4eva10 · 05/08/2022 16:31

@lifechanginglemoncake request a blood test, I was feeling the same last week spoke to midwife who did a blood test and I'm anemic so now on iron tablets

Tofu35 · 05/08/2022 16:40

Another scan today, and everything looking good. I did get horrendous lower back pain during it and they needed to roll me on to my side because I was clearly in a lot of pain.

That's a new experience, thanks pregnancy 😅

chardaboo · 05/08/2022 19:34

@Tofu35 that's good everything was okay.

I had mine today too and was the same but have to go back at 32 weeks for checking low lying placenta. just glad everything else is fine with baby

HayleyBean · 05/08/2022 20:36

Hey everyone how are you all doing? Is anyone not feeling anything yet? I'm 21+3 with an anterior placenta and haven't felt anything! I'm also trying to talk myself out of some beautiful £300 wallpaper for the nursery 😂

MadamMaltesers · 05/08/2022 22:02

Went for 20 week scan for the third time today since they couldn't view the spine properly. All seems ok though thank God. However, they did say I have polyhydramnios (increased amniotic fluid). Anyone had any experience with this?? I'm trying not to use Dr Google too much.

MadamMaltesers · 05/08/2022 22:08

@HayleyBean I have an anterior placenta too and the movements if any are very muffled. I'm 23 weeks tmw and in my last pregnancy I'm sure the movements were very obvious at this point.

Lol 300 quid wallpaper! Daylight robbery. That would buy you half of the things you need for the baby.

lifechanginglemoncake · 05/08/2022 22:32

@HayleyBean I'm intrigued and want to see the wallpaper now! I may not be very good at talking you out of it! We've gone down a Disney rabbit hole and are doing a Small World theme for the room. The geometric painted mural seemed a good idea but now we have to actually paint it so it doesn't look shit!

Jaaxe · 06/08/2022 07:15

@lifechanginglemoncake i was going to post the same thing about the tiredness, I’ve started feeling absolutely exhausted again, I’m on holiday at the moment and thought it could just be the 3 little ones and the sea air tiring me out but Im going to ask for a blood test when I get home too as i was anaemic with previous pregnancies and needed iron tablets and iron infusions towards the end too, I’m only coming up 20 weeks tho atm so hoping I don’t need the iron just yet as I hate the side effects of them x

MissC07 · 06/08/2022 08:01

@HayleyBean I also have an anterior placenta and am 21+2 and haven't felt anything yet. Good luck with the wallpaper 😂 I've fallen down a massive Etsy hole but have it all stacked up in my basket and haven't hit purchase yet!

stuntbubbles · 06/08/2022 11:01

@lifechanginglemoncake I’m absolutely shattered still at 19 weeks. Mind you I’m still projectile vomiting and have a very energetic 3yo so that could be it. My iron levels are off the charts high so no miracle cure for me. Just more rest and less to-do list. Moving house in a fortnight and just cba 😂

I’m 23 weeks and with an anterior placenta. I can feel movement but it’s pretty sporadic. Originally I only ever felt anything if I was lying and was really still. Now it’s bit more apparent

Vg92 · 06/08/2022 16:50

Anyone feeling bloated, struggling to pass gases and feeling abdominal discomfort/pain? 🤦‍♀️
Also, what do you use for skin moisturing?
Wishing you all very sunny weekend!

Mommabear20 · 06/08/2022 17:27

I had an anterior placenta with my last pregnancy and was just over 21 weeks when I started to feel him moving.

@Vg92 YES! I completely forgot about that not so delightful pregnancy symptom! Mines mostly on an evening though so I'm usually home and can feel sorry and grumpy for myself in relative peace 😂

HayleyBean · 06/08/2022 18:50

This is the wallpaper! It's on Etsy

@HayleyBean love this!

Tofu35 · 07/08/2022 11:22

Wow @HayleyBean it looks like a mural, are you swaying towards paying the £200 for it or still looking for cheaper versions? I feel the internet detectives in MN could definitely seek out some others!

Booked my NCT classes and looked at prams this weekend, feeling productive!

Chanel05 · 07/08/2022 15:03

Hello! I have my anomaly scan tomorrow and I'll be 20+4.

We just got back from our holiday this morning and are currently in the midst of major jet lag so haven't had too much time to sit and think about the scan yet or let nerves build.
