They did a pride event for the first time in my small town this year @Franklydear which I thought was cool.

@greenerfingers welcome on in. Pretty much everything my 3 year old says is annoying at the moment but then I am 38 weeks pregnant so I'd say more things are annoying than not!

Haha don't know what you mean @DKDK123 πŸ™„πŸ™„πŸ™„. Is DH around to help or are you flying solo today?

Ah that's good to have clarity and a plan @kaylsd - I did think that you'd have surely felt bubs move at this point!

I'm fairly sure DS only came out with the threat of a booked induction.

DH out until 2ish today and I am winning at parenting as I paid Β£3 to buy the Dino rescue paw patrol episodes on Amazon...he is fully entranced πŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌπŸ‘πŸΌ, hope this lasts as I'm tired! So want coffee but suspect the heartburn won't be worth it

OP posts:
bez91 · 06/08/2022 08:17

@Minster2012 that is exactly the case πŸ˜† DH around today so we can tag team the decorating! You're right on it being shape I think, my waist still normal but hips and legs colossal! Love how your mum has kept the bedding! Me and my brother had jungle bedding which my dad has also kept (thought he was just. a hoarder but if your mums the same πŸ˜†) X and his cockney accent πŸ˜‚ yes Bronte isn't really Bronte without the T! Amazes me how kids pick accents up, my dad is southern so DDs is a random mix of the 2!

@2020mission ahhh didn't realise you and @Vil10 had similar birth stories. Mine with DD was the same but had to use the forceps (they weren't that bad!) did anyone get asked to do ' half a push' in labour? Like wtf? Not possible πŸ˜†

@kaylsd ok, good you have confirmation so you know not to starry trying to bring labour on itself and it sounds like you're all prepared and main thing you're happy with the plan! It’s galling isn’t it πŸ˜– mine will just be touching 1k a month and that’s only for 3 days of nursery and breakfast and after school club. Wow sounds an intense Saturday with 5 πŸ˜† good luck!

@larrythelizard enjoy some peace whilst it lasts but yes maybe lay off the coffee!

Also little plug in relation to my comment to @kaylsd check this out ladies pregnantthenscrewed.com/event-march-of-the-mummies/ I've followed pregnant then screwed for years and will be going to this in October with my friend re childcare costs. Protest and get pissed πŸ™ŒπŸΌ

DKDK123 · 06/08/2022 08:49

@larrythelizard DH is around today which is good, to be fair he's had most weekends off since DS finished nursery as I think he realised mon-fri on my own with both was hard enough and an extra day at the weekend may just tip me over the edge πŸ˜‚ It has meant a big loss of overtime pay but once DS starts school he can start to pick up some Saturday shifts again. Good shout on the paw patrol episodes, Β£3 well spent I'd say!

@bez91 I didnt know about the protests but they're a good idea, once I go back to work my childcare for the 3 days a week will be just over Β£900month for nursery for DD and before/after school for DS it feels like going back to work is for nothing πŸ™„ If childcare was more affordable I'm sure there are lots of mums who currently don't work that would actually like to go back to work in some capacity if they could.

Soph0105 · 06/08/2022 09:49

Just a quick shameless peek for any news from @Juno231 as I have friends down this weekend but definitely game for moving the chat... would prefer WhatsApp to FB but will go with the majority!

Friends down to entertain J while I pack the house. "Are you sure you don't mind?" Lol crack on and keep him out of my hair πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ they don't have kids so the novelty factor is still massive. Win!

Also a PTS follower @bez91 but not marching in favour of a holiday πŸ˜‚πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ

dmb91 · 06/08/2022 11:13

Morning all, I'm still here and am reading but early pregnancy has floored me! I'm only 6+2.. it gets better soon right..?

Checking in regularly for @Juno231 news also

As someone who doesn't have insta and is missing out on all the newborn pics I am very up for a closed fb group! Or WhatsApp.

Minster2012 · 06/08/2022 12:59

We have a situation Ppl πŸ˜‚

You know when you can't find something, that you want. Like in this case water shoes, swim shoes things. But you've seen them a MILLION times. They lived in a certain place for years, didn't move & we basically didn't use them...then we moved. To a house WITH A FUCKING STREAM IN THE GARDEN so when X & DH decide they want a paddle and you can't find the shoes, ANYWHERE. I just want to scream. I've turned cupboards out, he has. No luck. We have ppl coming over in an hour and now a bomb has gone off trying to find these fecking shoes. I KNOW THEY ARE HERE

I'm raging trying to find them. It's all I can think about. And I have to stop looking. The most annoying thing in the world. Sorry just had to rant somewhere πŸ˜‚

@dmb91 the first bit can be the worst, it will get better!

Minster2012 · 06/08/2022 13:01

I bet they are hiding with the "T's" that xander won't say. Ffs πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ the rage is real & im not pregnant to blame it on either

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 13:09

@Minster2012 they are ok, some days better than others but things are getting done and everyday things ticking along, hubby has finally put everything away and reorganise the house his way, the children are behaving beautifully and finding joy in small things, oh damm shoes
@larrythelizard pride is very cool, specially in Brighton, just too busy for me
@bez91 ds uses my childhood duvet, courtesy of my mum
Also waiting to hear from @Juno231
I would be happy with either FB or wassapp group

BellatrixK · 06/08/2022 13:42

@larrythelizard I am joining you in heartburn struggles. It has started getting me every night, no matter what I eat/drink. A glug of gaviscon seems to be working, but not the best for a good night’s sleep. Β£3 for peace is a definitely a great bargain!

@Minster2012 ah yes, the dropped β€˜t’. It was a thing where I grew up too and I remember my grandma punishing us for saying β€˜butter’ with no ts! Hopefully he’ll grow out of it very quickly! I’m very impressed that your are back in pre maternity jeans, no matter how they fit! That seems very impressive (and @DKDK123 too!).

@kaylsd glad that at least the plan is definite now. I know that a CS probably wouldn’t be your first choice, but there is a definite advantage in knowing exactly when it’ll happen! So exciting as well!

@bez91 not going to lie, I’m actually dreading of childcare costs. I’m hoping that some days we can get grandparents to cover! Loving DD’s faith in your speedy decorating! Does she have a theme for her room?

@dmb91 the sickness, anxiety etc definitely, 100%, get better. But I’m 25 weeks and struggling with the tiredness! I’m forcing myself to slow down a little, otherwise I crash.

@greenerfingers I’m currently 25 weeks pregnant with my first. It took 2 miscarriages and a lot of help from the ladies here too get me to this point. I’ll be forever grateful.

@2020mission your birth story of very similar to @vil’s! You did amazingly well. I knew that you had some trouble after though.

@Franklydear ohhh. I love that stage of decorating. When the work people have gone and you can sort everything into a new home. To be fair, I’m clearing out spare rooms at the moment and loving it.

I’m 100% up for a WhatsApp/closed Facebook group. Either are fine for me. I’m off not trampolining today- it’s my BIL’s birthday (and he and DH are also best mates- they have a as big friendship group all in common). I’m going to watch, but I’m mainly there for the meal out after!

feliznavidad2 · 06/08/2022 19:43

Can I come along for the FB/WhatsApp please? Still reading along. Fugging knackered but hope to be more active again soon.

2020mission · 06/08/2022 19:59

I'm up for Facebook or WhatsApp whatever suits everyone else. My insta was only made for MN, never use it personally so not much on there πŸ˜…

@bez91 I can't remember any half push requests πŸ˜† I actually can't even remember the ring of fire I was too busy trying to not make noise and just push like they told me. I think it was probably already stinging from the episiotomy so it wasn't as noticeable! I just remember my husband popping to the loo swiftly when they were asking me to push the placenta out and they were tugging on the cord as that's when the haemorrhaging started and I don't think it was nice to witness. I wasn't worried as my mum needed a manual removal of the placenta with me so I knew it had happened to her and she was fine. She didn't have PPH like me though I still think the induction might have been a factor in that. I looked up the manual removal method after and found out someone must have had their arm up me πŸ˜‚ lovely!

paintfairy · 06/08/2022 20:01

I can confirm milk worked for the eye! I've been dropping it on her dry skin too. 🀣
Agree about the private group. All what we write is searchable forever and very outing. I just hope no one has spotted me. There are things I would say though if it were private, that I don't now, in case.
FB is a bit clunky though as the groups don't read like a chat? So WhatsApp might be better i think.

@Minster2012 The dog will get there i hope. I just haven't forced the issue but its definitely getting better all the time. Who knew about the sheepskin liners?! And actually they do say they keep them cool in summer as it is a natural thing. They look really snuggly. What is B sleeping in now? A proper cot? I have to say I'm not a fan of the snuz mattress. I bought the air one which was more money but I don't think it seems that supportive to me. The shnuggle one in her moses basket is better. πŸ™„ Giggling must be cute! My mum is recycling some of my old toys for J! She's kept loads of stuff. Unhelpful on the 't' issue with X. You've named her one of the few names probably with a t like that in it. 🀭 Scratch mits piss me off. Pointless invention. J even manages to get her left hand out of suits with the flaps. No idea how or if she's left handed. But I'm having to mostly use sleep suits because I can't have loose hands and a scratches face. You can buy really expensive ones that aren't meant to come off. But Β£12 a pair seems excessive. Gap in the market here......
@bez91 birthing expert I'm not. 🀣 I think I was very lucky. But I wasn't so lucky on missing the pain relief. At the time I did think I was dying. 🀭
Sounds about right re work. Our place would do equally ridiculous things! Decorating with Z sounds like I'll be fun! I get fed up of cracks. πŸ™„ Half a push? Wtf is half a push? I got told to wait but I literally couldn't stop it.
@DKDK123 I already need to sell stuff. 😫 Some of the smaller baby grows don't fit now. And I also need to sell my maternity stuff. I've photographed it all this afternoon! The baby clothes/season issue is a pain! I never really thought about it until I had a baby. But clearly turn being on the right size at the right time is hard to predict. We've had a lovely thick winter cardigan bought for us and I'm just hoping it'll fit when it's actually winter! And I need to go over bumpy horse fields with the pram. Walking so it's not bouncy is impossible. Childcare costs are ludicrous. I'm not sure how anyone is meant to live.
@Franklydear how annoying about the floor tiles. Men just do not retain information. 🀬
@BellatrixK I mostly want people to go away all my life. 🀣 But it was annoying when you just want to enjoy those moments together. I've never been to Chester zoo but I would like to! I love things like that- as long as the animals are happy.
@larrythelizard I didn't actually put her at the bottom no. Otherwise the hood thing wasn't blocking the sun? But the issue is her head. She has it to one side, then looks up and her whole body follows. 🀣
@2020mission I think odd birth stories were shared but they are spaced out. Even the nhs antenatal classes told you being on your back is bad. So I've no idea why they then want you there, when it comes to it?
@kaylsd bugger on the baby still being breech. But at least you know where you stand now. I think knowing and preparing is much better than not knowing. When is your c section booked for?
@dmb91 the beginning is definitely the worst. I felt crap from weeks 5-9 but then was fine. I was lucky maybe as it carries on for some.
@feliznavidad2 you are supposed to be telling me it'll get better. πŸ™„πŸ€£ Hope you are doing OK.

Sorted out photographing maternity clothes and things too small for J to sell on vinted today. Might try fb first.
Also managed to pick up a BT 6000 monitor second hand (but brand new) because you can't buy them in shops. I'll test that tomorrow. I can fit in my normal jeans too! πŸŽ‰πŸ₯³ I tried them on today. Oh and I keep forgetting to say J hiccups just as much now, as when she was inside. πŸ€£πŸ™„

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 22:26

Mostly unpacked and shopping tomorrow 😊
I guess @Minster2012 is the better positioned to start the wassapp group and invite us all, maybe we can introduce ourselves with a picture, just an idea

bez91 · 07/08/2022 03:56

@dmb91 definitely gets better, the fatigue I remember really having me too at that stage! Hang on in there!

There's pros and cons to both WhatsApp and closed Facebook group I think for how we'll use it so happy to go with whatever 😊

@BellatrixK no theme just pink, I've had to slightly change the requested colour so that sunglasses aren't required upon entering 😎 hope you enjoyed your meal out and trampoline spectating!

@2020mission yes and yes - as far as I'm concerned there's no such thing as half a push πŸ˜‚ but also had an episiotomy with #1 so no ring of fire πŸ”₯ the whole arm up there must be hereditary then? It doesn't sound enjoyable... When I think of that all I can see is the documentaries where farmers have their entire upper body up the vag of a sheep 🀣

@paintfairy Ooh good on the bargain! Hope you get on with the monitor. I love ours, using it for second time so it’s 5 years old. Also super impressed, I picked up a cheap BT 2000 camera last week for it which is compatible so you can link the extra camera to the monitor, i think you can have up to 4 BUT BT don’t seem to sell them alone so you have to pick them up second hand. I’ve put the second camera in Zs room as started putting him in there for daytime naps so saves messing around moving the monitor from our room. I suppose it's useful if you have 2 babies close together too! Not that any loon would do that but πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

DKDK123 · 07/08/2022 05:32

I dont want to tag her as she's obviously not came on for her own reasons (which I'm hoping is just being too wrapped up in newborn bliss), but is anyone in contact with juno outwith MN, just want to check she's ok as we've not heard from her in a while?

Franklydear · 07/08/2022 05:54

@DKDK123 it's not so unusual, sometimes she's not been for a few days at the time, I am sure there'll be some news soon, but yeah if someone is talking to her privately, ...

kaylsd · 07/08/2022 06:12

@franklydear I hope you had a nice time with your friend yesterday and well deserved rest
@dkdk123 I love that so much that comment from the surgeon 🀣🀣🀣 I guess having a breech little one has their own perks ;) your right chick id rather have peace of mind for the safest option than the land of unknown, hope your doing okay!
@minster2012 fingers and toes crossed it’s a phase! My accent is very much a strong one from Yorkshire, I live in West Yorkshire & used to get told when I works in a West Yorkshire hospital my accent was posh for Yorkshire then I’ve moved to a South Yorkshire hospital to work where I originally come from and they say I don’t sound like the same of them either, I wonder if it’s a mixture from living in Sheffield too 🀨 I’m up for either Facebook or WhatsApp so whatever is the easiest :) i also noticed the same with @vil10 gorgeous little girl photo with the one mitten, I remember my niece being the exact same one moment both one next poof disappeared! I hope you found the water shoes I hate when you know something is usually somewhere and then bammm disappears!
@larrythelizard exactly chick I’d expect a proper washing machine roll around movement to be noticed by this point! Hope the heartburn settles hunny, I’ve resorted to getting b&m alternative rennies as I’m chewing them that much like palma violets
@bez91 thank you for that plug chick it’s crazy the sacrifices made just to return back to work isn’t it, my friends similar just 3 days like yours but she had to pay a 3K deposit to hold her place what she will get refunded back when she’s old enough to leave πŸ‘€ which is the first I’ve heard of too when it comes to child care! I survived the doggy day care 🐢 one shit on our fresh bedding which was eventful finding that yesterday evening as we’ve not been in our room all day πŸ™ƒ
@dm91 hopefully things feel better for you chick as your hormones change all the time, sending lots of love over ❀️
@bellatrixK I’m just going to plan nice things over the next 3 days it’s hard with DH being at work every day he’s done it so he can have 3 week off from Wednesday with me bless him but I’m thinking face masks, bump masks, hair doing, favourite film watching & lots of cuddles with my doodle mable before she has to share my attention, she was watching over the next to me crib all yesterday πŸ₯Ή
@paintfairy Wednesday! Got to be there at 7 so I’ve got a feeling I’m either first or second on the list as they usually ask people to come in for 9/10 for dinner time afternoon slots, all set and ready to go :) I actually cannot wait now πŸ₯Ή I have the same monitor the BT one! We got a voucher when we got bt fibre last month so we got ours at a massive reduced price :D

I’ve messaged Juno on IG too just for a check in to make sure she’s okay but I’ve not heard anything back as of yet..Happy Sunday everyone, back feels like toothache down to my legs still presuming bubs is in a awkward position pressing on nerves 😬 hope everyone has a lovely day :)

Minster's 9th Side Car - who runs the world? Girls! (Where are all the boys?!)
greenerfingers · 07/08/2022 07:08

Ok I'm barely trying to remember names here but I hope I get these tags in the right order haha! @kaylsd congratulations on your pregnancy and I hope your delivery goes really well in a few days. I bet you're so excited and can't wait to meet your baby!

I hope you get your bfp soon @Franklydear and thank you for the welcome.

@BellatrixK sorry to hear of your losses and here's wishing to a really smooth pregnancy and delivery this time round. I had a stillborn before so can relate to the loss. I'm currently 24 weeks pregnant so not far behind you at all. I'm just so impatient this time that I just search the internet for birth stories to keep me busy (even though I have a toddler, am searching for a new house and work too but yet still all I can think about is hurrying this pregnancy!).

I feel like I've just intruded on a very private thread while just scrolling through mumsnet and feel like the strand new kid at a very busy school πŸ˜‚.

Minster2012 · 07/08/2022 07:23

Morning ladies,
For those asking about @Juno231 I hope she doesn't mind me saying she's ok, all is good & she'll no doubt head back when she can πŸ’“πŸ€—

@greenerfingers ha ha standing at the school gate πŸ˜‚, don't worry please we just know each other pretty well here & often over share & talk about all our life as opposed to just TTC/babies/pregnancies cos like you say can be a bit boring! And on the replies thing if you are iPhone & use the app you can click "reply" start typing then click the X top right corner then reply again and you can click backwards & forwards. I'm so sorry about your loss & totally understandable you want this pregnancy to move along, it's only natural. I actually know a couple of ppl who have experienced stillbirth and you must be very strong

@Franklydear if besties husband is making the house "his own" after her parting then I think that's great steps, and they are so lucky to have you. And your new kitchen!

@kaylsd omg that's so adorable Mabes just waiting going "so what's going in this bed then?!"

Hokd on I'll post this then move on...

Minster2012 · 07/08/2022 07:35

@paintfairy breast milk in the eye for the win!! The "normal" mattress I got for the snuzpod seems flat & good. Yeah B is in a cot, well actually a cot bed, X's old one that he was in til 3, with the mattress raised to its highest position. She often gets her hand out of the scratch mitts on sleepsuits

@bez91 I know 2 loons who have had babies very close together πŸ˜‚I was sorting out a new camera for B's room last night...cos we love our monitor but it doesn't reach around our garden & she's in a great routine so I like to get out in the garden at lunch sleep...so we used to have a pet Camera in X's room when he was toddler age so we could watch from our phones in the garden but you had to have the app open & watch it live stream IYSWIM? Not being able to close it down & just get notifications when he moved or cried which is what I want. I found an app called "Cloud baby monitor" where you use an old phone as a baby unit then it links to other phones & sends alerts. I shall try it tomorrow alongside the other one

So Larry & I were talking about the WhatsApp the other option is a 90 day only thread. Only thing with that is still can't do pictures I guess

Also randomly on the kids close together...I spoke to someone who is in her late 50's & she said "oh yeah well 2 of my boys are same school year...I went to have the coil put in, didn't realise i was already pregnant & pushed the coil out in the afterbirth" what???

And it's very likely Juno is reading along just not posting yet so hopefully getting all the love ❀️ we are all sending

Minster2012 · 07/08/2022 07:36

Right, beach family day today then oh yeah we have more ppl coming for Sunday tea so beach til drive back & get home close to 5 & cook. Amazing. Not.

DKDK123 · 07/08/2022 08:08

Thanks @Minster2012 that's all I wanted to know that she was OK, I was getting a bit worried. Sending you love @Juno231 if you're reading 😘

Franklydear · 07/08/2022 08:23

@Minster2012 he's doing so well, he's pretty proud of himself,he should, he's also realized how much bestie did and got taken for granted, so he's pulling DH's socks on you have a great wife, make sure you appreciate her, on Juno I am sure she doesn't mind, all we want is to know she's well after all
@greenerfingers I guess you are the new kid in the school, but nothing to worry about we are a very welcoming bunch, you'll know everyone soon, many of us had losses, but yours is pretty hard, as minster says we talk about many things, so no topic is offlimits
Ds second covid vaccine today, early to have time to recover, meltdown likely, and then to finish putting things in, and that's all the boxes done, two weeks and do it all over again for the bathroom, but in another house so no hotels, all good, I am taking more rest, I'll be less stringed in friends house than in hotel, but it'll be good when all is done

Going to finish my orders in the afternoon, photos soon on insta, question, does anyone have any experience on Shopify?

larrythelizard · 07/08/2022 08:25

I'll check back in properly later (trying to hustle the boys out of the door at a sensible time this morning - I think they'd both rather stay at home πŸ™„) - but my two pennies is we have a thread in 90 days only as I wouldn't want to alienate anyone by dropping off MN or moving to parenting before ALL the babies are here and then if people also want to chat on WhatsApp then that's cool.

@greenerfingers I thought the same when I joined in, just get stuck in! If you're looking for birth stories, how far along are you?

So J is trying to walk... he tripped this morning and grabbed me BY THE NOSE to steady himself. Actually grabbed the inside of my nose 😭 he was thrilled, me less so by the resulting nosebleed. Fucker.
