Some of my reply disappeared!

@kaylsd hope that you get some proper advice, help and options today. I love that idea of asking about someone’s death row meal. We did that recently with family and it was interesting to hear people’s choices. Sorry to bear about your nightmares- really unhelpful when you’re struggling to sleep anyway!

@Juno231 hope that you’ve managed to sleep and are okay.

@Somatronic that’s a lot of chances and I can understand the cravings! Good to keep an eye on it, but don’t put too much pressure on yourself. Being pregnant is hard!

bez91 · 05/08/2022 13:19

@Minster2012 fitness class is good. I've not been for a couple of weeks as they've changed it to a Saturday morning until envy week through the school holidays which I can't do but back to it next week. The girls seem nice, I wouldn't say I've made friends yet ha! Seems to be a rotation of people each week! Oooh B πŸ₯° baby giggles are the cutest! Still waiting for Z's but he's such a smiler!

@DKDK123 I need to replace it as the screen has had it so I'll look at a Fitbit as that sounds fun! Sounds like E was angry πŸ˜‚ it's it being twice that's the cruelest bit I think!

@BellatrixK @DKDK123 glad there's a few of us in the same boat of the weight gain during TTC and MCs, annoying as by the time you get to pregnancy obviously loosing weight isn't really advised! I definitely do far more steps now just round the house running from room to room like a headless chicken
@BellatrixK Chester zoo is epic to walk round so unsurprising you're knackered, especially running after children. Great nursery is almost finished too, it's getting real!

I'm attempting to prep DDs room for decorating with Z in tow πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ. It all needs repainting as so many surface cracks appeared after all the building work and vibrating! She legit thinks it'll be done by the time she gets back from nursery 🀣 expectations of a 4 year old!

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 14:43

Ooooo @bez91 what's the decorating plan? Is Z holding the ladder?? She's certainly not giggled since but she was ok after jabs, slept well so I have tidied house just need to get washing in now

@kaylsd omg just realised your nightmares! Puppies? Burning! What?! I had a few but not many fortunately

I'm not surprised you are having A chill day @BellatrixK walking around is a lot at this point

Loving that E was angry at the nurse @DKDK123 she really knows her mind!! I've also been selling & passing on B's bits, some ladies here have got bits I want to pass on

ive been trying to just go through my maternity bits just now & get rid/put those up for sale. Also tried my fave "normal" black skinny jeans on & they fit, they are tight & with a muffin top now but it made me think I really need to do some exercise when I'm at home & she's sleeping at lunch from now on. Get rid of those extra inches to make them comfy again

@paintfairy on the in pram jiggling you can't do loads though one thing that can help is buying a sheepskin liner. If you get a nice thick one then it can act as a layer of padding. We have a fellhof foot muff where you can unzip it to use as a sheepskin layer. I haven't used it with her yet but X loved it & apparently sheepskin doesn't make them hotter hence why I say it, not that I've tried that theory but SIL uses her sheepskin liner all year round even in the heat wave

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 14:45

Sorry @bez91 completely didn't reply to the fitness thing, I think that's similar to the baby class thing today, really nice ladies so we'll see, though @Juno231 would be proud of me as there were only 4 of us & I scoured my brain & remembered bits each of them had said last time and asked them things so I was pleased with my elephant memory skills there!

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 16:12

@kaylsd here's hoping you've got answers today to the baby position quandary

DKDK123 · 05/08/2022 16:13

@Minster2012 I'm back into my jeans too but not comfily. I make myself wear them a few times a week tho to remind myself I need to lose weight otherwise I'd happily live in comfy leggings forever but piling on more weight πŸ˜‚
When you mentioned passing clothes on it reminded me that I've been meaning to message you for ages to see if size 3-6month summer rompers would fit B soon? E got them as a present and they're lovely bright summery colours but there's no way she's going to fit into them before the summer finishes so I thought they may do B for her holiday in Sept if you want them? I'll look them out tonight and send you a pic.

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 16:26

@DKDK123 yes that's great motivation! Being able to sit down comfortably in them would be nice πŸ˜‚yes please that would be fab thank you! She's already firmly in 3/6 stuff I'm hoping saving the biggest for nearer holiday! Pop me a message on Insta thank you xx

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 16:30

I also forgot to say @Franklydear basically all builders I've come across are pretty poor at communicating! You feeling better now? I will never have white grout again I hate trying to keep it clean so coloured or dark grout all the way πŸ‘πŸ»

Franklydear · 05/08/2022 17:26

@DKDK123 thank you darling, I guess I do have my own little role here
@larrythelizard I was mighty surprised, I'll take the cm over the kilos, always
@bez91 I hate hate hate a bad employer, we all need to unionise and demand better conditions
@Minster2012 no more heat, thank you, around 22 is lovely, and ouch B, hope she's ok and the giggles continue, on the topic of marvel children, ds has learned to tie his shoe laces, all by himself, he is so chuffed, no more special laces or velcro
@BellatrixK ds is a bit annoyed but coping really well, better than me but he doesn't have school and I do have to work

Building update: he said he's finished, only a few wall sockets to replace, he claims there's been a misunderstanding and we didn't book any flooring tiles, only I chose them with him! So the plan, I can unpack my kitchen, fridge tomorrow, cooker and dishwasher Tuesday and then floor will be done in two weeks with the bathroom as we are out of the house for two weeks ( i think he left the tiles too late and decided to do them with the bathroom as you can't step on them for 3 days after finished) he did have the decency of not asking for the remainder payment, wasn't going to pay until happy with finish and nothing to amend anyway, but other than that, they are good, tidy and clean, and everything is done to a high standard so, we'll put up with this
We are going to bestie's for movie and pizza today but tomorrow is what I'll do after work, I don't know if DH will there do it in the morning, cos he cooks but I need things where I decided they'll go

Franklydear · 05/08/2022 17:33

@Minster2012 I feel much better at the thought of putting plates, glasses, pots and everything back in place, and to even microwave food for a couple of days, and then cook properly, bit annoyed at the tiles game, yes of course I didn't order any flooring, but it makes sense to put it down when we are away if you can't step on it for days

bez91 · 05/08/2022 19:26

@Minster2012 you won't be surprised to hear Z was useless helping with decorating especially with his trademark cat naps so I've washed my hands about 770 times today. Great news on the jeans! Clothes sizes are peeing me off atm, especially underwear; I have an array of size 8, 10, 12 and 14 pants and some 8s fit me, some 14s are too small - wtf πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈ hope B continues to be ok over next couple of days with the jabs 🀞🏼

@DKDK123 yes it's kind of nice to feel the pain to motivate you - I get you πŸ˜‚

Sounds like it mostly went to plan @Franklydear that's good news and sounds super therapeutic putting everything back in it's rightful place!

Surely @Juno231 is pushing a baby out?

larrythelizard · 05/08/2022 21:10

Sounds an interesting class @DKDK123 I've also been looking at the postnatal 'Bump plan' stuff as keen to start rebuilding pelvic floor etc asap so when I'm ready I can get back to the gym!

Oh that's tough with DH's mum @paintfairy I guess all you can do is try and get him to keep talking to you. Sounds like doggo is trying to work out where he fits in the new pecking order.

Love that B is giggling @Minster2012

I also second that builders are often not the best at communication @Franklydear - we've been waiting about 6 weeks for some outside electrics but sparkie has gone a bit AWOL.

You need yourself an #affllink for that rain cover @DKDK123!

Are you putting DD with her feet right at the bottom of the bassinet bit @paintfairy?

Jeez that is a joke @bez91! Surely it's a no brainer to say yes to you?! I think I want to go back and do a 9 day fortnight but ideally on the same money...!

Ah fair enough if it wasn't you that did the painting to start with @BellatrixK.

Has she dictated how she wants her room @bez91? I distinctly remember choosing a teddy bear ballet border and pink walls when about 5, I loved it!!

Hope appt went OK today @kaylsd

Hope all is OK with you @Juno231

OP posts:
Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 21:39

I could take it that she's laughing AT us @bez91 @larrythelizard πŸ˜‚, really hoping to see pictures of the old school teddy bear 🧸 ballet border & pink walls from back in the day @larrythelizard?! I had a jungle theme but I can distinctly remember my brother's Paddington bear themed room and being jealous...I'm sure my mum kept the Paddington bits for years. On that note, 2 points, one bring that I had my little pony EVERYTHING & apparently if I hadn't sold it all for 50p at a car boot & had kept it til now I'd be able to retire off the proceeds of selling it, secondly LOOK AT THE BEDDING MY MUM HAS KEPT from my brother being a kid and SHE WON'T LET ME HAVE!! I'm gradually trying to wear her down but I don't know if she'll crack 😝

Either pushing a baby out or really pissed off with my lard comments @Juno231 I'm only joking!! πŸ’“Hope I've not scared you off 😘

@bez91 damn these apprentices that cat nap on the job 😝fecking useless. I'm like that with gardening with B, she's all happy, I put my gardening gloves on, pull one thing up, she cries, I take gloves off, wash hands, make her happy start again. Honestly it's pointless πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈyes to the sizes!! I think it's the shape for me more than anything. Which obviously affects size. Argh so annoying

@Franklydear just think, when you come back from being away it will look amazing compared to when you went!! I always have to make sure the house is clean & tidy when I go away so that when I come home I feel calm, you'll have even more of an amazing feeling than that! (Let's ignore the fact we then cover it with suitcases & washing!) And yes, not ruin it. Go DS!! That's fab!! I was looking at the special laces the other day, do you mean the squiggly ones?? They look fab!

Part one socialising done! DH's cousins' kid was bossing X around like a bitch πŸ˜‚funny to watch!

However, he's started to drop his "T's"
Like he's got a bad hull or cockney accent
So we considered how he might be able to say "Bronte" and thought yeah fine, but not now he's a cockney he's saying "mummy where's Bron-ee?" "Can I have a war-er" (water) please?" Errrrrr where is who?? Say what??? T darling
Bron-TEE
Bron-Teeeeeee

I have no idea what this thread is but was just bored of being pregnant and wanted to find some birth stories. Found a lot more and still have no idea what this thread is about but it sure is interesting πŸ˜…πŸ˜…. Kept me entertained!

Minster2012 · 05/08/2022 22:14

@greenerfingers I shall try to explain.
If I make mistakes blame 🍷πŸ₯‚
Birth stories you'll find a few here, we are a group of ladies who started TTC through the lockdown & found each other over the course of the lockdown periods & I ran that thread (hence this is the graduate bus from that) we had a huge laugh TTC, making games up to entertain ourselves, & thought hmmm just TTC is pretty boring so we talk about anything, everything & nothing was TMI ...some got pregnant quickly, but wanted to keep in touch so follow along, some of us took years but we clung together so we are a gaggle of ladies with babies, or bumps still who have been supporting each other for ages in a poke fun at each other, share horror stories, fun stories and all in between kinda way!

There's a few ppl just had, or about to have babies so it's an exciting time!

I have an Insta account that a few ppl link off & we can share pics if we want (some ppl created TTC /preg accounts to share stuff to so it's not on here) but we don't out each other, we also share funny stories, poo stories things like that!

To explain my last post I have a 3 month old called Bronte (that's Bron-Tee) which my 4 year old has now decided he's gonna drop the "t" of. Dick.

2020mission · 05/08/2022 22:59

I feel like we haven't had that many birth stories that or I just missed them πŸ˜…

@Vil10 glad to see you got home fairly quickly! Yours sounds like mine with the threat of forceps but then a quick episiotomy and pushing baby out πŸ˜† that threat bloody works doesn't it! They said Matthew was getting stressed and needed to come out ASAP and to be honest I know I hadn't been putting the full effort in due to fear of tearing and thinking I had time. As soon as they told me I had to I went for it. I don't actually remember anyone ever actually checking me or saying I was 10cm and safe to push all I can remember is having the urge to push quite soon after getting to the birth suite and not putting the full effort in as it felt too soon and had no one told me I was safe to go all in. They also took the gas and air away for the end and told me to not make noise and to put everything into the pushing so I sort of feel like I birthed him with no pain relief πŸ˜‚

Similar to @paintfairy I also experienced the midwives being too keen for me to be on the bed on my back I kept saying "no that's not a good birth position I don't want to!" So I was on all fours and on my side most of labour until they said I had to get on my back for the episiotomy and so they could see. I still protested and they lifted the back of the bed up so I was in more of a squat position. It was fine in the end it was a tiny cut. I say fine but obviously the haemorrhage and retained placenta was bad and led me to theatre swiftly but the birth itself was fine until then.

greenerfingers · 06/08/2022 03:26

What a lovely back story @Minster2012! And thanks for the explanation! I never really would have got it haha especially as some were with children, some trying to conceive and some pregnant. Now it all makes sense :). Nosey hag that I am. If it makes you feel better my 2 year old says he needs war-ah! (He's heard it from somewhere and drives me bonkers).

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 04:33

@Minster2012 haha, yes, coming back to an improved house will feel amazing, the kitchen looks fab already, the bathroom will change everything again, @larrythelizard communication is his only downfall, so I guess I'll take it, specially if all do it
@Minster2012 I get them from Amazon, they are elastic and have a little metal top that you screw together, they are fine, but look clearly different, so yes, another milestone down
@greenerfingers we are a village really, we started our TTC journey together years ago, and had additions over time, tell us about you, minster explains better, she's the driver on our crazy bus
My own bit of socialising done, movie night with bestie's hubby and the kids, I do not recommend the new ninja turtle movie, but the kids like it, I have work this morning, don't ask why I am up at this hour, and it is pride weekend, the biggest pride in the country, so my commute is screwed, note we don't do a parade, we do a weekend all over the city with a festival at the park, everything looks pretty thought, rainbows everywhere, literally
,

DKDK123 · 06/08/2022 05:55

When I saw a random name I just assumed it was our regular catfish on one of her very many names πŸ˜‚

I do often forget than random people will also be reading our thread. It must read like some kind of soap opera at times, tune in tomorrow to find out if @Minster2012 will ever find Xs 't's again, will @Franklydear get her kitchen in order and will @Juno231 ever push that baby out (we're all rooting for you juno, I'm hoping the radio silence means you're currently caught up in newborn bliss 😘) πŸ˜‚
Does anyone think it would be easier instead of jumping between MN and IG it might be easier (and more private) now to move to a closed FB group or WhatsApp where we can have all our chat and photos under one roof?

It's been a 4am start and soft play playdate today......pass me the wine! 🀯

kaylsd · 06/08/2022 06:22

@juno231 I hope you are doing okay darling 😘

@minster2012 @bez91 @larrythelizard @dkdk123 @paintfairy @bellatrixK and any other beautiful ladies
Sorry I didn’t check in yesterday was doing that pain in the arse thing of trying to post and oops something went wrong & trying to reload the thread and the thread wouldn’t show up properly! Things went well yesterday, midwife at hospital did a portable scan before my pre op bubs is very much still breech! The little ones head is stuck under my ribs so she said she can imagine why she said my community midwife that they have switched round because bottoms fully engaged in my pelvis & the heads wedged :’) BUT it means that I know now where I stand, the ELCS is the birth plan and there’s no more confusion which I’ll take any day of the week, I didn’t like the land of the unknown! The surgeon seems lovely if it’s going to be the same man on the day he was making DH feel comfortable which was my main goal, he mentioned our little one may come out with frog looking legs at first for the first few days with them being breech but hopefully should settle down now they’ll be out of the womb & the anathetist was really nice saying they are our bread and butter here within 5 mins of starting your baby will be out πŸ₯Ή got my pre op meds ready & my wash! I’m quite comfortable with the idea of a CS and just ready for the days to pass :)

@larrythelizard have you seen the temperatures for the days our babies are coming into the world! 28 both days in my area anyway I hope it’s cooler for you? Must must must bring battery powered fan in hospital and change the batteries as I’ve already used them out already!
@paintfairy I second this, the support off the bus over the time from starting to where I am now, I wouldn’t be without it! It’s got me through some of my hardest days especially TTC times. Congratulations on registering your little beautiful girl πŸ₯Ή sorry to hear about her gunk eye hopefully it’ll improve soon for you, you’ve been there for your DH a more than you would have ever realised sweetheart, sending hugs over to you both. Can I just say massive wow to your birthing story!! You must have an amazing pain threshold hunny, you go girl!
@franklydear it sounds like your being tough on yourself hunny, you’ve been balancing quite alot these days enjoy your rest day today with your friend and pizza (fabulous combo) to recuperate energy ready to tackle things another day
@bez91 hopefully they can accommodate your working hours, my friends going through similar issues on mat leave where she will need to increase when she’s back for childcare reasons, 900 a month she’s going to be charged πŸ₯Ί
@minster2012 did you cry when you heard Bs first giggle? I’d be a blubbering mess 🀣 you sound like you’ve got a busy weekend ahead missus being a social butterfly! It’s messed up the bloody puppy nightmare thing it’s like the worst thing possible, I’d take a serial killer chasing me down anyway over puppies being hurt 🀣πŸ₯Ί is the dropping the T a accent thing for your area (as I know your a Yorkshire gal like me and I have the worst Yorkshire accent 🀣🀣) for X or just a little habit he’s picked up at the moment?
@bellatrixK gosh you’ve been on fire girl cracking on with the nursery glad for hear that the painting is all done nearly for you! Take it steady over the weekend the best you can :)
It’s funny the conversations you can stumble in with people, im getting used to the no sleep club in preparation of the little ones arrival I think
@greenerfingers welcome! I can imagine it might be abit strange conversations flicking in :)! My story, was TTC 18 month, went through infertility investigations after 1 year was found to have PCOS & male factor infertility which DH requires a vasectomy at some point, was rejected then accepted for IVF to start in December 21.. first week of December found out I was pregnant naturally 2 week before it was meant to start despite all the odds against us! Nearly 39 week now, planned c section next Wednesday due to bubs being breech :) met these beautiful people along the way of my TTC journey s when my cycle went wonky and all the tests we went through and all the appointments, we had a baby boom on the bus that December which was amusing as it was like a advent calendar at one point for minster!

No sleep club once again, bubs was doing Macarena in my womb last night until about 12, then reflux kicked in then back ache & then DHs work alarm went off within a blink of a eye and here I am πŸ€£πŸ™ƒ think I’ve updated everything, got my inlaws dogs today as they have a plumber in and would just be barking for the whole duration the plumber will be there for, so 5 dogs to keep occupied, doggy day care Saturday it is!

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 06:24

@DKDK123 I too forget I am not talking privately to you, perhaps it's time to move to something more private, I won't have to keep finding drivers then, 4 am start for me too far no reason whatsoever but I did get the shopping done

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 06:32

@kaylsd you are quite right, I need to give myself a break, easy weekend putting everything back for me

DKDK123 · 06/08/2022 07:05

@kaylsd sorry that you're not getting the natural birth that you would have preferred but glad that you're out of the land of limbo now and you can get excited about meeting your baby next week 😁 I had a little frog legged baby, they straightened out after a week or two. After we were out of surgery the consultant did say to me 'what a perfectly formed round head she has, you can tell that heads been nowhere near a pelvis!' so I guess there are advantages to a breech baby πŸ˜‚

Franklydear · 06/08/2022 07:29

@DKDK123 that's hilarious, definitely an advantage, @kaylsd good to be out of limbo, good vibes for Wednesday
@greenerfingers let's do a recap for you, now you can never leave πŸ˜‰ I am the resident aunty, I have a 12 year old boy, I've been trying for a second for ever but so far nada, I am Spanish but been in England for ever, currently doing up the house, or half of it so madder than usual

Minster2012 · 06/08/2022 07:48

Loving @DKDK123's little sum up there for @greenerfingers I feel like we are a little soap opera! Sone of the ladies we started with their babies are turning 1 & I can still remember when they got their BFPs & some of us still hanging round here πŸ˜‚

Do you know what I sent a message to @larrythelizard last night saying should we at least move the thread to parenting because a the ppl we know from the TTC thread are here on this one & most of us at the "had or not far off" having babies bit? Another option is the closed Facebook group like @DKDK123 says or what app? Thoughts ladies?

@2020mission nothing like the threat of a cut to get that baby out just push, we don't know if you are dilated enough so we'll slice you instead πŸ˜‚πŸͺšπŸ—‘ I get the impression a few of us end up with very little pain relief (in my case I would've gladly taken more, not for lack of trying to ask!)

@kaylsd the plan is a good one that baby will be coming out this week in a nice controlled way πŸ₯°I didn't cry when she giggled, was making my breakfast at the time but she was sat in bouncer at DH's feet & beside X & everyone stopped & went "awwww she's giggling at us!" Was lovely, I'm hoping for X it's just a phase, I don't want her own brother to pronounce her name wrong πŸ˜¬πŸ€¦πŸΌβ€β™€οΈwhen I used to work in Leeds DH says my accent was worse!

@Franklydear have they ruined the teenage mutant ninja turtles??? Noooooo!! Putting things back in an ordered fashion will be quite cathartic I think. How is besties family?

@greenerfingers war-ahhhh it's driving me nuts. And he's saying "yuh" instead of "you". We don't talk posh or anything but we do flipping pronounce our words here mate 😝

Can I just say @Vil10 obviously with the cutest pics on Insta of baby going home & meeting the dogs...has anyone else noticed the scratch mitts...then lack of one scratch mitt...@Vil10 they are like socks, they just disappear, socks drive me nuts, or a dog might snaffle it away. it made me smile & I wonder if you've already gone "where the hell is that mitt gone now?" πŸ₯°πŸ˜‚
