@Juno231 I hope that you’re okay. It definitely sounds like your little girl is ready to meet the world soon. Try to ignore impatient people… everyone knows that you shouldn’t ask about baby arrivals, surely? Unless it’s VERY close family or best friends.

@larrythelizard that’s what I do in the holidays, lots of lunches. I hate having empty days… and I imagine waiting and very pregnant makes empty days worse. I hope that you had a relaxed last day today at least.

@Franklydear ooohhh. Exciting on the appliances. I love house shopping so much. The kitchen is my DH’s realm too and I let him choose most of our appliances, but I choose colours! That’s a lovely day planned, lunches and seaside centres are the best.

@Somatronic that’s really not good enough from the endocrine team. They’re very lucky that you are so on top of it. It’s really rubbish that you have to cut your holiday short too. So frustrating that that is when they decide to be useful.

@kaylsd how confusing on the baby’s position. I suppose it’s best to wait and see what happens this week then you can decide? Love that you’re placing your ‘last’ meal! I’d be the same.

@Soph0105 100% ignore the toilet seat, it’s an easy fix for them and I always replace them anyway. When we moved in a shower door was missing. That was annoying!

@paintfairy loving hearing your water breaking story, I swear I’m so unprepared, I have no idea so I like hearing everyone’s tales.

@2020mission congratulations on the job!! That’s amazing! It is a complicated process, but it will all work out and it’s only a short time waiting in the grand scheme of things.

@InkyPaper I hope that you’re okay. I’m furious for you about your family. Totally ridiculous from FIL. I’m glad he’s in the minority at least. To be honest, I think most of our family would have preferred a girl really (all bits on DH’s side), but nobody has been anything but so so wonderful as they should.

@Minster2012 and @bez91 your babies are doing so so well. I’ll add lard to the feeding list for the first few months 😂

I have painted more of the nursery today- we’re painting the inside of a section of the wardrobe dark green, which also needs 4 coats. Fun! I did go shopping for a gorgeous lamp shade and to look at nursing chairs with MIL. She’s the best and is buying us a gorgeous, comfy arm chair. So excited watching it comes together.

So I've got infacol. Full dropper in the baby's mouth? Does someone want to tell me how this works? 🤣 Firstly the dropper is shit. Secondly as soon as she tasted it, she screamed blue murder and spat it the tiny bit I had managed to get in. Then refused to open her mouth any more. 🙄

@Minster2012 haven't had E weighed professionally for a while but on my home scales she's 13/14lbs so Bs weight is probably about right as she's just a bit older than E. I feel like Es huge but I checked her red book and she's still following the top of the 50th percentile curve so that must be average size. DS was a teeny thing for months so it feels weird having a normal sized baby 😂

Hi ladies!! So a quick check in I'll just explain my birth story for you all!!

Waters broke at 10:30 at home, went ti triage and they gave me the pessary because of strep b and no regular contractions, went to a ward and after about 20 mins sleep I woke up with bad cramps coming quite regularly, so got up and walked the length of the room, by the time I'd done the walk twice the cramps came when I was by the sink so I lent over that kicking my legs out😂 seemed to work! Came to examine me I was still only 2cm then not long after I was 5cm, went to birth suite (couldn't have a pool birth in the birth centre because something about the strep antibiotics and gas and air making me tired and it being dangerous? At this point I didn't care though) about 8ish and had gas and air, the pain in my back was just excruciating for someone who already has a bad back too it was awful🤢 midwife could see the head but it kept going back up, turns out baby was back to back and head was tilted too so no wonder my back was so bad, so they gave me the hormone drip to speed up contractions as they were slowing, then because of her tilted head they brought a few theatre doctors in and were going to do a forceps delivery which I really didn't want, so forceps on the table ready to go and by luck I got a contraction and they said this is your last chance, as I pushed they gave me an episiotomy and out she came in 3 deep breaths!! Midwife showed her to my OH and he told me that we'd had a beautiful baby girl💗 we got 2 hours of skin to skin and helping her latch before they weighed her etc, she weighs 7lb! She was being lazy with latching at first but now she seems to be getting the hand of it and we're just completely besotted with her, I can't stop staring at her and crying!! We've had to stay in over night because of the strep b thing and I haven't slept a wink outlet from constantly checking on her, so since my 6 hours sleep on Monday night I've had 25 minutes sleep🥴 going to try and get a couple of hours now though!!

Oh, I have my ultrasound next Tuesday, after work, they did say a full bladder, it's to look at my ovaries, that'll be the dildo cam, right? So tips ladies, I'll be stressed cos naturally I would have gone to the toilet right before so.... talk to me

I don't know what you're like @Franklydear but I have been known to pee before leaving the house but still have a full bladder at the hospital, but then I drink a tonne of water and I'm a nervous pee-er who lives 40 minutes away 😂🤦🏼‍♀️

@paintfairy course it's not a good time to say! That's fantastic!! I'm not far off anyway and I look back at my pics a couple of weeks after birth & I think I look better than now, because now I've put a bit back on but it's just sitting over my c section scar & on my hips (I blame the booze!) so it's only a bit I need to lose but it's more getting my shape back again. Dropper in the back of her mouth I'm afraid, like you are gonna choke her, so she swallows as a reaction rather than it coming out the front 😬it's awful but I've just done similar with more colostrum in the eyes

@Franklydear honestly it's not as bad as a smear it's ok and you can have half a full bladder if it might cause concern they can always ask you to drink more?

@Minster2012 thank you, it's just I am unregulated with being out of the house, well, we are just back now, the extractor fan is on, most of the tiling, just a bit of that and the flooring to do, fridge coming on Saturday, and I can unpack the kitchen boxes, cooker and dishwasher on Tuesday then two weeks and bathroom should take a week but no hotels, it'll be ok, D's coping well too

I was a fan of putting medicine in DS' mouth and keeping it shut with my finger until he swallowed before he was too big to do that @paintfairy

@Vil10 bloody hell hero woman you did incredibly well (like @Soph0105 I had an awkward B2B baby that neither me nor surgeons with forceps could get out). She really is beautiful. Hope you get to escape home today where you'll be able to get some sleep.

DS got into bed with us at 5.30 and lay there and wiggled for an hour, he's entirely incapable of staying still! No way I'm staying awake for my massage later!
